I bought the 116619LB because of the dial color, that double blue says it all to me, the new one now is not special as there are numerous other black dial Rolexes, the Smurf is unique
Love this watch. Window shopped the watch a dozen times but never pulled the trigger. Now grey market dealers trying to sell them around 46k

What I don’t like about the new one is someone could easily mod a black dial steel Sub with a blue bezel insert.

Owning a no dial Submariner-114060, I was expecting the Smurf in stainless steel version on September the 1st.
I personally did NOT like the blue bezel and black dial combination at all and was even surprised further with the finalisation of production on the Smurf with the 18K gold version.
No more HULK and no more SMURF 😢

I prefer the discontinued version. But I'm a bit biased .......because I actually own one. 😉
I got a pre-owned (hardly worn) one in a barter deal with a couple of other Rolexes I was bored with, it cost me way less than the retail price at the time.
It will be interesting to see how the value is affected since the model was discontinued.
Mind you I have no intention of selling it any time soon because I wear it often and absolutely love it!

Just heard that the old sub is 40.2mm, and the new sub model is 40.5...Can this be true?
It's funny, I literally spent 25 minutes in the AD, annoying the sales person to no end being torn between the smurf and the yellow gold bluesy. The smurf was super nice and I liked it a lot, but ultimately I went home with the yellow gold bluesey Ever since that day, I've always wondered if I should've bought the smurf instead. Now that Rolex discontinued the smurf, yes, I can definitely say I bought the wrong sub.
There has been a smurf in my AD for $34 k USD for about 10 months. I do live in a small Caribbean island with limited tourist traffic in the last 8 months.

@@jonnielsen4102 It got bought the same month the new White Gold, blue bezel, With Black Dial Came out at the end of 2020 and they announced the smurf was discontinued. Some smart guy moved quick.

@@jonnielsen4102 no prob, i go in once a month to see what they decide to put out on display. Nothing good at the moment. They did move (2) wimbeldons in a week (SS and Two Tone) in December. Once a month or every 2 months they put out a nice piece.
@@MarkAntigua Very cool! As I'm sure you know, supply is so limited in the states right now. Let me know if you ever see any SS sports models or the more desirable white gold pieces (the new sub, the WG GMT meteorite, or the WG Daytona). I'll pay you a referral fee or something!

The 116619 is the better of the two. It boils down to the bezel. It is just a classic.
You mean dial. Bezels are the same.
This model in blue has the best increase invaluable🍀 currently more than Euro 45.000
I think everyone hopes they make a blue-on-blue on a steel bracelet. Not many people is willing to spend extra 20k just to feel the weight of white gold. Anyway Blue on Black is never a stunner in look.

not a big fan of the blue dial.....i know i may be in the minority but i like the new blue bezel/black dial better. i guess i always loved the original "kermit" and this is an extension of that watch. i would go for the new one if i had the resources. but i'm on my AD's list for the new "cermit". probably several years from now they will release the blu/ black on steel!
Yeah, I have the matte blue dial Tudor Black Bay 58, which also has a blue bezel. It looks nice and is exciting to wear for a few days, but then that desire to wear the watch quickly fades. All blue is also less versatile if you care about coordinating your watch. I think the new 126619 with black dial would be something you could wear daily and never tire of.
