    When Rolex first made the announcement of the new Submariner, we were left feeling very underwhelmed. However, with only a short time with this watch, it has left a lasting impression on us.
    Getting up close and personal with the Submariner has got us falling in love all over again. All the subtle changes Rolex has made add up to a huge difference. The Submariner is now a modern size but also maintains the sleek lines of the older Submariners. This is a big win for Rolex - I may have to try and get one for myself.

      finally someone who has understood the game ! i have been saying that for years !
      when u present a watch the camera has to be IN THE OTHER PART OF THE TABLE IN ORDER TO SEE A WATCH IN ITS WHOLE !
      NOT INFRONT OF UR FACE !

    I have owned all the Subs over the last 30 years. After having the new Sub41 on my wrist for a few weeks, I can tell you it is by far the most “perfect modern Sub”. The sum of its changes easily leave the older “11 series ceramic Sub” obsolete and a acknowledgment Rolex made a few errors with its design. It’s chunky and block lines are so out of place in the history of the Submariner design and Rolex now correcting these errors with the Sub41. The new Submariner 41 now looks like a direct modern version of a 5 digit Sub and is now perfect. It will be a rock star.

    I’ve owned the Submariner 16610, 116610LN & now the 126610LN & from my experience this is the perfected Submariner. With the change in the lugs & the new movement with the 70 hour reserve, I don’t know how it can get any better than this.

    I own the "beefy" discontinued Submariner,and I know it gets a lot of flack...but I really like how it wears on me. I'm basically a fan of ANY Submariner.

      Considering the high price of any of these from any generation ever produced, I'd say we're in the same boat. Any Sub would do just fine. Heck, I'll even appreciate if there is ever a quartz version of it (of course it's not going to happen, but if they ever do, it'll still be a very good piece) 😄

    i still prefer 114060 over this, the whole watch looks bigger, chunkier and less refined on the wrist with the wider bracelet and bigger case, kinda look like a blown up of the 5 digit sub. It’s a maxi case, it’s either they keep the old maxi case or they go back to the 5 digit case. The latest design is kinda odd, with a big case, big bracelet and thin lugs, the proportion is kinda off considering it’s a maxi case.

    114060 is a rock star. I just saw the 41mm at AD, the clasp and bracelet is so massive. Any wrist size under 7.5” will look out of place.

      @@tubefan2737 what you are blind? The 41mm has the massive 21mm lug and thick clasp. It is so out of proportion. The movement is noisy too like a toy. It’s not a classy timepiece. Huge mistake.

      Thank god I got the 114060. At least I can put my rubber b strap on it that I had on my 16600 sd. The bigger lugs on the 114060 are better proportioned to suit both bracelets if you have a bigger wrist size. 21 mm nahh

    You should have mentioned the wider hands, especially replacing the spindly stem of the hour hand on the previous model. if the pip on the second hand were as large as the one on the GMT, then this watch would be perfect. I own both to know and appreciate this is the best Submariner hitherto.

    i bought the 114060 from my AD just before it was discontinued. After the new release, I felt like I was had missed out on the newest and best sub. comparing them side by side it is really difficult to see the differences. I heard the new movement although it has a greater power reserve the rotor action is quite noisy.

    It’s difficult to improve the Submariner. The only improvements could be…. Two liner dial. The “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified” could be engraved on the case-back. They can add a matte dial to limit light reflection. They can keep the 4 line text but print Submariner in red. They can also give us a full graduated bezel markers. They can offer an Oyster-flex rubber strap option (an option that you can buy after purchase).

    In the last 20 years, the emerging market collector’s wrist size is definitely smaller so what is with the massive oversize clasp, oversize lug size and noisy movement. The BB58 is perfect at 39mm in case size, perfect 20mm lug size and thickness of just 11.9 mm….The new sub should have followed the same sizes as the BB58! The new 41mm is clunky compared to the perfect proportions of BB58.

    with their abilities, they can simply just use the original 5 digit reference sizes with the latest caliber and adjustable clasp. dont see how its necessary to increase the size (overall 0.5 but very noticeable on and off the wrist) and having a whole lot of explanations (by bloggers/websites no less) trying to talk down its significance.

    21mm lugs are a huge mistake. I can’t stand odd numbered lugs Swiss army does this too and it’s so stupid. In effect Rolex rendered your entire old strap collection null and void!! Gee thanks👎. And they’ve made a wider more sweatier band for summer👎. 20mm should be industry standard on all men’s watches if possible of course. I honestly would not buy the watch just for this alone. I’ll look to other models which have 20mm like the Milgauss. 21mm lugs was a huge mistake when history looks back on this. I said it here first! The proportions on my 80’s GMT were perfect and should have remained across all or most lines. The big watch thing is over. Way over. Rolex talk about late to the party. Wow.

    • @jeffhayes3184
      @jeffhayes3184 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had owned the 114060 and HATED the tiny bracelet! And the fact that the 20mm bracelet was SO out of proportion to the super case. I had lusted after a sub as a grail for years and then sold it after 6 months because it was so out of proportion that I couldn't stand looking at it. A big square watch on a tiny bracelet! Ugh! The new 12 series is SO much better proportioned. No comparison!

    • @gmotionedc5412
      @gmotionedc5412 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jeffhayes3184 Rolex should have stuck with 40/20 or maybe 41/20. The gold standard is 40/20 or maybe even 39/20 this allows men and woman to be buyers!! This is what a smart company does. When you start going 42/21, 44/22, 45/24 it starts to become gross and forget about the ladies buying. I’m sure many guys don’t care and are fine with oddball large sizes but I care and can’t stand weird oddball sizes or anything over 41/20. To each his own.

    • @jeffhayes3184
      @jeffhayes3184 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gmotionedc5412 why would anyone even want to try to make any watch for both men and women, with vastly different wrist sizes, let alone styles women? The only 20mm braclet that I like is the one in my Seamaster, but only because it doesn't taper at all. But, in this case, the watch case was increased by only 0.4 or 0.5 mm and fixing those awful fat lugs and increasing the width of the bracelet made all the difference to make the watch much better proportioned. A 22mm bracelet would have been better, but 21 is so much better than 20 on this watch! I have the Tudor BB58 with its 28mm case and 20mm bracelet, and it is OK, but I will be selling it once I can get the new, better proportioned sub. (I also have the 41mm Tudor BB and the case is perfect for me when viewed from above, but that slab case height is not OK.)
