i just put some 148 thunder hollow light hangars on some old thunder low, cast, 6-hole baseplates from the '90s with grindking inverted kingpins. the mounting holes are shifted in like 1/8" per truck so they give about 1/4" more wheelbase, more like ventures. and the heavier plates and solid kingpin balance out the weight a bit better. the hollow lights were almost too light. i made a video, scheduled the 4th
Crooked grinds are so clean 😩
I try to keep my weight over the front truck mainly but pls tutorial how to get out cuz i always primo
Really great articulation here. What about truck tightness?
What a no good name I can name 14 lives lost to herion no shame or respect for humanity this brand is trash never buy from them if you love your life and your friends life Making heroin and everyday word is absolutely dinteresting
I'm alright I will stick to my 7.75
are you going to be looking into the 11 inch slappy trucks!!?
Sick and chill little park 🔥
bigger surface area obviously means more control... thank you for bringing the obvious to the masses...
The guys at 7:43 and 8:02 got me laughing 😆
The eggzillas look so funnii 🥹
Popsicle boards are better for nose & tailslides.
th-cam.com/users/shorts3MBlmlXa2_Y?si=Wj82tpQ7J8fFjb4_ 👍👍
I dunno man, personally I'm not a fan of these "look how different I am" boards. They are heavy and bulky. Even watching yourself skate it, it looks messy. It flips slow and lands like a brick wall. Skateboards evolved from this style to be more efficient and practical. Seems like going backwards is more of a statement from the skater or grab for attention. Artwork is awesome tho 👌🏼
Excellent lesson 👏
Thanks dude, thanks for watching!
Tomorrow I'm going to skate my new set up for testing reasons I'm using 56 mm 85A duro wheels because I skate street then ramp and bowl later then more street but most of my terrain I skate is brutal soo hopefully this new all terrain machines works out
Hell yeah, those wheels will feel so nice on rough ground!
@LeonPaxton insanely smooth I just got back from the test run I have never skated anything like this set up
Do a video on why wheel duro is important
🤝
❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
I skate a 8.5 and I’m 5’8 (sadly😂). And it feels perfect for me. Love the videos❤
That’s it man, as long as it feels most comfortable to you 👌🏽
Cool board 👍
It’s so fun!
I appreciate you making the thuds of you skateboarding match with the beat of the music at the end
Haha thanks man, I love editing to the beat 👌🏽
Crooked for rails please!!
Done 🤝
My go-to trick for 30 years now, lol. I remember seeing someone push these through a chunky ledge back in the day and thought it was so cool. Took me a minute to learn, let alone well, but I really think everyone can learn crooks. One thing I always tell people is to be sure to get on and over the ledge enough with their torso. People are often a bit apprehensive, and will lean away from the ledge and not really get their weight on. That's why I always say to focus onto the ledge in such a way that you CAN'T see the side of the ledge anymore. You really want your head and upper body to be over the ledge, not leaning to the side as if you're expecting to bail or slip over. Yes, you'll overshoot/slip over the edge sometimes, but you'll slip out harder if your weight is too much to the side than over the ledge.
Hell yeah, it’s such a good feeling trick to do! That’s a good point, you definitely need to have your weight over the ledge to lock in and hold it properly 👌🏽
I’m turning 40 in just over a month and the past 10 years have been full of injuries and lack of confidence due to taking time off too close to turning 30. It’s crazy how much crooks feel foreign to me right now. I’ve always been a crook and noseslide guy. Now I’m severely struggling with both
Damn that sucks man, just keen at it and you’ll slowly get more comfortable on the board again 🙏🏽
I buy this exactly deck week ago, if you put a 215/169 longboard trucks with 65/60mm 83/78a, it’s like a fcking 4x4 all terrain ! , it’s so fun like a beast, prove it !
Damn that sounds like a monster truck!
Hang your front toe just a smidge before popping and you'll pinch all the time
wow another sake park that was made for skateboarders only.all jokes aside its a mad park just sad to see no good bmx/scooter spots
The key for me is foot position at set up. Point your front toe slightly towards the nose and try to lock in that way. This gives you better leverage for balance through the grind. This works for nose mannys too. 👍🏻
Hell yeah, I might try that too!
Waiting for a big ball ceramic to come out
Good video man. This the most comprehensive crook tutorial I ever seen. Think I might be ready to try them now
Thanks dude, appreciate that! Hopefully it helps 🙏🏼
Another great video! I tend to ride larger boards as well and I recently picked up a deck from Jonny at Manak Skates. He and his family make handmade boards and the quality of materials, attention to detail and artwork is excellent. Please keep the vids coming. Thank you!
That sounds sick man! Thank you so much 🙏🏼
Give us a grind tutorial for noobs I need one 😅
Which grinds?
@ Probably like boardslide, nose slide and 50-50 or like whatever’s easy
I might do a video going over a few of the more basic tricks 🤝
@ Woooo thanks for the possibility 🥹☺️
Sick 🤙🤙🤙
bruv i want a heroin deck around the 9 inch mark, what size slappy truck would suit best? ps love your vidz brutha
I'd say 8.5" or 8.75" trucks would suit best man 👌🏼 Thank you!
I used to have crooks my first try when I was younger. After years of hiatus, I can't seem to out any crooks i do. I can grind to end, it's just that I can't roll away.
Hopefully this video helps you get them back!
It's the old man deck lol. The guys grinding pools always have a setup like this.
I need to learn how to skate bowls and pools now lol
We need to go back to 7.75 boards ! This old 9+ bull crap is just ridiculous
3:38 I don't know if you intentionally synced that clip with the music, but that shit was so on point
I usually try to but sometimes it works out better than I planned lol
Thanks good explanation really helped
Sick, thanks for watching!
Glad he made this, I’m going to go learn this trick
You got this 🙌🏼
Do noseslide please. 😅
I actually suck at nose slide 😂
@LeonPaxton Same 😂
Came just in time, I was just tuning into this pose. posture bs50-50It's gone again. I'm in the process of getting a new one.
so I got an 8 that I still was gave to me before they started the company was at city college
I was 19 or 20 at the time saw angel rameriz and he gave me one of their decks in 2012
all in the scooch
That's what she said
Thinking of this as more of a “nose slide” really helped me. I was attacking it like a nose grind and getting bodied on most ledges lol Thanks for the tips mate 🤙
Yeah dude, it makes so much sense to think of it that way! Really helps to get a good pinch too 👌🏼 No worries at all man!
Same, and i can't believe I overlooked this now Ive see it. Leon youre the man!
Sick diy spot g where’s that?
The homies building it don't want the location released yet but as soon as they're happy to, I'll make a video on the spot and say where it is 🥳
@ that’s fair! Tell em it looks fun as!
Thank you I was waiting for this video and you did it as you promised big love 😂
No worries at all man, hopefully this helps!
@@LeonPaxtonalso was going to ask is the wider deck help to lock the trick on the ledge ?
It's not so much a wider deck will help lock in but you definitely feel more stable and comfortable as you're grinding 👌🏼
My problem is aiming the lock in. I’m not consistent but if I land in it right I can do them.
I think I might have brushed over this a bit too quick but it definitely helps trying to aim your heel into the lock in position, this helps a lot since the heel side wheel is right under your foot 👌🏼
1:52 that's all you had to say. Makes so much sense, I feel stupid for not looking at it like that lol
Haha all good, picturing this makes so much more sense 👌🏼
@LeonPaxton for sure! It's one of those tricks I've never had consistently, so hopefully this is the last piece of the puzzle. Thanks!!
I just ordered a 10” egg board with 9.5 af1s all because of you mate! 🎉
Hell yeah, that's the best set up! What wheels are you going to use?
That’s what I ride and I love it!
@@LeonPaxton 50mm 101a snot wide boys it was all that was in stock but I might want the smaller wheels to make it lighter 🤙
