  • Today we're setting up and skating the PERFECT sized trucks, that I didn't even know existed...
    These are the Ace AF1 Hollow 77's, which have an axle width of 9.5" and are pretty rare to find!

    How do you like your trucks to sit on your board? Inside, outside or flush?

      I always try for flush. For some reason to me when it is outside or inside I think I'll automatically get wheel bite. I think there are Slappy's now that are 9.5"

    recently Heroin dropped a new collection with a "9.0 *9.5 and a 10" Popsicle Shape. The 9.5 is a MUST HAVE lol
    I think its actually one of the rarest thing I've seen in a while. lol
    Those AF1s look so good man. I bet with Hard Bushings they feel perfect!
    Slappy Trucks now makes a 9.25 Truck and a 9.5 also. but not hollow only on the standard Slappy.
    And they dropped some bushings 90a "I Emailed them asking lol. 6 months back"

      I have the Long Egg with the 15” wheelbase and coincidentally put Ace 77 hollows onto it too. I put the 52mm Nano Rat 93a wheels. Don’t think I’ve ever assembled a more perfect complete that you can do ANYTHING on. I mostly stick to flip tricks.

  • @sidwellsk8er
    @sidwellsk8er 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I put the inverted hollow kingpins in the Aces with JB Weld. It's a bit of an undertaking so I will usually swap new hangers onto the modified baseplates until they're unusable. I rode the same Stage 8 Indy plates I modified for years. You ever want to do it I can tell you how to do it. Your best bet would be to do it with your 9 inch ones so you're not out until they're done. PS you can order the hollow inverted kingpins, Slappy sells them a la cart.

    I just bought 9" Slappy's for a 9.125" HeroinSkateboards Deck. It's a "Deerman" shape, however, and is 9" over the wheels, so it should line up perfectly. I really should have built it by now, but not sure if I want to cut something into the tape, so holding off for the minute.
    Maybe I should have gotten 9" Aces, but I wanted to check out Slappy's. They look very similar to indies, but are a lot lighter (and cheaper in the UK by at least 20 quid)

      @@LeonPaxton I have the older swampy pro model, the one that's a deerman shape, you know it? It has mutant alligators being born out of eggs that look like jack o lanterns on the the graphic.
      The graphic on the grip side is like a zombie version of swampy, in white, with a green cap, so it has great contrast again the brown stain. I think it says either heroin skateboards, or swampy next to it, too (maybe both)

    Have they made their nuts better? First generation AF1s the nylon or whatever material they used inside their nuts wouldn’t be very good at locking the nut in place. Riding both king pin and axle nuts flush I had sufficient problems with wheels popping off and the hanger loosening that I just replaced all nuts with standard lock nuts.
    That alongside the need to buy harder bushings makes the AF1s a bit wonky to me. Still nothing beats that turn.

      @LeonPaxton  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah they updated them after the first run didn’t work lol
