I lived most of my life in Kenmore. On Enola (it's Alone spelled backwards, first street built in Kenmore). And I grew up on Stillwell Ave. I love Kenmore. My dad sold his house last month in Kenmore. And moved to FL. He's tired of the snow. Kenmore will always have a place in my heart called home.

Great video! I think my first encounter with your channel was your previous Kenmore video.
My parents moved from North Buffalo to Kenmore when I was a kid, so I grew up walking just 5-10 minutes to Mike's Subs, Watsons, Sardina's Pizza (long gone now), Seeley & Kane's Cards & Comics (also long gone), and various playgrounds. There also used to be a lot of mini-markets on the sidestreets, but we lost pretty much all of those in the 90s as they were converted to houses.
It's worth mentioning that Kenmore was a streetcar suburb, and when it was built, there was a trolley line that ran along Delaware all the way downtown. And you're right that the lot sizes get bigger as you go further north, and developers were thinking more about cars. On the east side of Colvin Blvd the style changes completely as you get into the postwar developments.
I'm shocked how many schools we've lost over the years. Some had already been converted to other uses when I was a kid, but more have been closed recently, including my old middle school (which is one of the few things about Kenmore that I don't miss one damn bit). But my elementary school is still there, and still named after a Nazi sympathizer.

@@thisisbs808 I remember when Watsons had that diner near the candy shop. The Plaka has been there forever now but it's not the same.

I moved out of state unfortunately. Damn, I miss Watsons, was just on their website yesterday. I'm gonna order an Easter basket for me and my girl.

I grew up in the Bailey/Kensington neighborhood. Do you have an opinion of that area? I grew up on a street between Parkridge and Comstock.
