    You pack a lot to consider into each sentence. I have been thinking about your conclusion for living in Menton, that for you it is too far from the airport and too touristic at its center. You have shown us less touristic cities on the Cote d'Azur but many are even farther from the airport. And those less touristic cities will eventually become more crowded because the world has only one Cote d'Azur. On the Italian side, Genova's airport might be even farther from its neighboring cities than Nice's. Happy go lucky traveling seems the best way to live in this world. Thank you for sharing!

    Although it’s been 5 years since I was last there I hope that the SCHATZERHÜTTE (up the road from Bressanone/Brixen followed by a 30-35 minute walk from a parking area at the end of the road & the bus line at PLOSE (late September through middle of May). SCHATZERHÜTTE has apparently survived the Pandemic & serves, those staying there, wonderful breakfasts & dinners & a variety of accommodations are offered but at the pre-pandemic price of around 45 Euros per day. Hopefully costs are not too much higher now but I have not checked yet. The owner, Franz Penthaler (spelling ?) has had this fabulous facility in his family for around 60 years & it is still in operation & well worth staying. The cabins & rooms vary in terms of size & toilet/ bathing facilities. A communal bathroom with showers is available for the smaller rooms. In addition to this the SCHATZERHÜTTE offers a spectacular view of a range of Dolomiten mountains south with the wonderful Mountain PEITLERKOFEL in plain view. Lunch is also available for those passing through & who are not overnight customers. I fully intend on returning in the next year or two.

      Ah - thank you. We asked locals about the correct pronunciation but perhaps we misunderstood. I thought they said that cassis the fruit is pronounced with the "s" at the end, but in Cassis the town, the final "s" is silent. Thanks for watching.

    • @Lightw81
      @Lightw81 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@happygoluckytravel the 's' in the fruit is silent. The reason for the anomaly is that the place name dates back to the Occitan language (I think). I first visited Cassis in 1978 and fell in love with the place, but last time I went there (2018) it was inevitably more developed, and had suffered from forest fires in the hills to the west.

      That's the problem with all these tourists posting videos showing off less popular tourist spots, overtourism, nomadism and the likes being social media by-products,; foreigners moving abroad, buying up lands, chateaus, etc, because they follow youtubers' advice, tips and recommendations. Then the locals have no more peace, the places only known to them are no longer and, on top of that, English-speaking tourists forced them to speak English.

    This is excellent info for car rentals in Europe for US folks. Are Auto trans cars commonly available in small car models?. considering narrow roads would feel more comfy with a smaller car and of course an Auto trans.

      We rented / leased the Renault Captur a few times and that one is available with automatic transmission. It's the smallest SUV Renault makes. Citroen and Peugeot have similar sized cars with automatic. When I tried to lease an even smaller car (e.g. Clio) in automatic, I first got a confirmation and then later, a few weeks before pickup, an unwanted free 'upgrade' back to a Captur. My feeling is the smallest cars are not always available as automatics, but the Captur class is suitable for most southern European streets. It's good size car that will hold plenty of luggage and not get stuck in narrow roads or parking garages.

    We are planning to apply for a Long time stay visa. Looking at Nice as a place of stay. Been to Nice 3 years back and loved it. Please include more videos especially rental apartments, the rental rates and other tips for US folks in mind. Love your content and looks like France is the most looked at country by US Expats for relo. Thanks!

    CADAQUES or SITGES??? Which for nature exploring?

      Short answer. Cadaques. Sitges has access to lots of mountain bike trails in the hills, mostly it's best for a quieter small town on the beach, near a big city and big airport. For nature exploring in Spain, the whole Costa Brava is a fantastic option, especially the peninsula where Cadaques sits. However in the winter, lots of restaurants/hotels close and weather can be bad/wild -- and then there's not to much to do. Which will you pick? Thank you for watching!

    Yeah, spaghetti vongole from the Amalfi Coast ruined me for that dish elsewhere.

    I really love the Carabacel neighborhood. It's the first neighborhood in Nice I've seen that looks authentically French. Most of what I see of Nice has a sort of generic Mediterranean jet set look. But Carabacel has Paris vibes to me. Please cover Musiciens. I've heard very good things. Thank you!

      Thank you for watching! Musicians is a lovely neighborhood with many gorgeous apartment buildings. Less shops and restaurants than the Carabacel, but with its own charm. We hope to cover this neighborhood!
