  • See the Italy best beaches on the Italian Riviera in Liguria, Italy. In this Italy beach vlog we visit the Italy Riviera in Liguria near Cinque Terre and Portofino. The Italian Riviera has some of the best beaches and most beautiful beaches in Italy. With this Italy travel vlog you’ll see all the best beaches in the region of eastern Liguria, south of Genoa, a region sometimes called the Riviera di Levante. As we tour the beautiful beaches in Italy in this Italy vlog, you’ll also find out how Italian beach clubs work, Lidos, often in the best beach towns in Italy, are a hidden gem of Italian culture.
Italian Riviera Travel Guide - 2023 LIST OF BEST BEACHES IN LIGURIA, FROM SOUTH TO NORTH, BEST BEACHES IN NORTHERN ITALY. Best of the Italian Riviera!
#1 LERICI Best beaches Italian Riviera. Lerici, Italy. Near Cinque Terre.
If you’re looking for the most beautiful beach in Italy, you need to consider Lerici Lido Beach Club for beautiful beach travel with more Italians. This Italy vlog shows you Lerici’s long, wide sandy beach. This Liguria vlog shows you the view across the turquoise Bay of Poets to Porto Venere. Italy best beaches must include the lovely public beaches in Lerici. Lerici's long promenade to San Terenzo lets you do the Passegiata an iconic stroll and element of Italian life. Feel the Dolce Vita! One of the best sandy beaches in Italy!
#2 SESTRI LEVANTE Top beach in Italy near hiking. Sestri Levante, Italy - Baia del Silenzio
Sestri Levante is an old-school seaside resort. Hiding behind the town center is the hidden gem of the Bay of Silence. La Baia del Silenzio - a beautiful crescent shaped beach. In this travel vlog you’ll also see the short hike to Punta Manara with a stunning view down to the Bay of Silence and Sestri Levante.
#3. PARAGGI beach. Best beach in Italy near Portofino. Paraggi, Italy on the Italian Riviera is another rare sandy beach in a protected nature zone. Motorboats are forbidden. Explore by kayak or SUP. Do open water swimming. This Italy vlog shows you how in summer, beach clubs crowd the sand. A tiny sliver of a beach in-between the beach clubs or rock shelves act as the public beach. Best in off-season.
#3.5 NIASCA. Best beach Liguria for water sports. Niasca, Italy Paraggi’s little sister beach
Niasca is a hidden gem on the same protected bay as Paraggi..
#4 CAMOGLI. Best beach Italy Riviera. Camogli, Italy - Spiaggia LIbera.
The beach fronts one of the most beautiful fishing villages in Italy. The dramatic side-drop of the mountain of Portofino National Park makes the setting of this beach really unique. See in this Italy beach vlog how even though it’s a rocky, this beach ends in soft pebbles at the shore. Depth drops steeply, with lots of fish.
#5 BOGLIASCO. Best beach near Genoa. Bogliasco Sotto La Chiesa Beach. Italian Riviera.
This tiny public beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy named for its position directly below Maria Santissima Church. Beautiful turquoise water! Located at the bottom of stairs this hidden gem is one of our favorites. A tip from this Italy beach vlog - When you’re in Bogliasco, be sure to stop by Panificio Stea. They make the best focaccia we’ve tasted in all of eastern Liguria.
#6. NERVI. Best beach for the rock shelf style beach. Nervi Italian Riviera near Genoa.
Another beautiful beach in our Italy beach vlog. Nervi is a suburb of Genoa. Very charming port and promenade called Passeggiata Anita Garibaldi. Bagni Medusa is both a beach club and a restaurant. This beach is all rock! Locals make a beach of rock because in Italy one says, “Andiamo al Mare” - let’s go to the sea, rather than let’s go to the beach. Even these beaches are the best of the Italian riviera!
Bonus Beach! Best beach Italy Riviera for dogs. SANTA MARGHERITA LIGURE, Italy. Dog Beach. Bau Bau Beach in Santa Margherita. No Italy beach vlog with Italy best beaches would be complete without a dog beach!
THE ITALIAN BEACH CLUB. THE LIDO. ITALIAN RIVIERA BEACH CLUBS.
Italy’s beaches are public land, but the government sells concessions to businesses who charge entrance fees in the summer. Those fees in the Italian Riviera of Liguria start at 30 euros for two people up to 300 euros. A unique aspect of Italian beach culture. Enjoy the best beaches in Northern Italy, some of Italy’s best beaches!

The tiny beach of Niasca is my favorite beach in Portofino (Paraggi beach is in the municipality of Santa Margherita; Niasca belongs to Portofino). From mid June to mid September can be very crowdy. My suggestion is to get there at sunset or, even better, very early in the morning. Let say at 7-7:30 am. I swimm for about one hour in transparent water, than I go away before people arrive to get some focaccia for breakfast. The little, beautiful beach in the cove of San Fruttuoso di Camogli is amazing, but also very crowdy in high season. The water is stunning and on the beach there's a one thousand years old benedectine abbey. My favorite place to swimm is Punta Chiappa: a 200 meters long rock between Camogli and San Fruttuoso. You can get there walking (50' from San Rocco di Camogli/1h 30' from Camogli) or in a few minutes by boat from Camogli or San Fruttuoso. There's no beach and you have to dive from the rock. It's a great place for diving and for snorkeling. Water is crystal clear, with green and blue color and you swimm among a lot of fish. Punta Chiappa is popular among "aficionados" and you will find many people during week-ends and in mid August (August 15 or "ferragosto" is a traditional holiday in Italy since Emperor August created the "feriae Augusti": August's holiday), but you will always be able to find a quiet spot. Back in the 80's and '90s naturism was popular in Punta Chiappa. Nowadays it is no more, but if you decide to sunbath or to swimm naked nobody will care. There are also some beautiful secluded coves were to swimm in Portofino's peninsula, were you will find nobody, but it's pretty difficult to get there: navigation in the marittime protected area is forbitten and you have to hike on difficult trails.

Da italiana vi dico: non ci sono solo le 5 terre o Portofino,ma tanti paesi carini e intatti dove si spende di meno e si sta bene, come Vargotti,Cervo,Finale Ligure,Sanremo,Bordighera etc

Good to see you back with videos again, but i like to tell you to check out some more pretty beaches on my opinion....closer to the french border like Varigotti ( for many the best in the italian riviera), i was there last year for a week after a week in Santa Margherita and Portofino and i loved it....really nice and calm....around there ( few km ) you have the Saraceni Bay and Spiaggia del Malpasso ( fantastic). If you check Varigotti, i will recommend you eat at La Ruggia, it is on the beach and best place to eat and chill by the beach.Best regards.Marcelo

@@happygoluckytravel Your welcome!, in the area of Varigotti you have also Noli, very interesting little town with beautiful beach too and few km to the other side you have Finale Ligure ( consider heaven for mountain bikers ), all the area is fantastic but with my wife we found Varigotti beautiful and calm., by the way, with my wife we had enjoy very much watching your videos and funny we had been almost the same places in the last 2 years on the search for a place to retire in the future( about 5 years), including Sitges!., and i think we made our decision to get our little place to begin....and that place will be Villefranche sur Mer!., anyway, before we need to visit in couple of month San Sebastian( Pais Vasco).all the best and keep posting those great videos!Marcelo

How lucky that you've found your retirement place, Villefranche! We'll check out those other suggestions for beaches in Liguria, thank you. And talk about funny, we have San Sebastian on our list of places to go, too. Tell us what you think, as we won't get there as soon as you😀 All the best!

P.S.: I don't like beach clubs. They are great if you like to spend the day on a comfortable (and very expensive) chaise longue, but that's not for me. I like quite places, not crowded, in the wild. Almost half a century ago, sailing on a tiny boat I discovered the untouched beauty of the islands between Sardinia and Corsica, the Eolie islands etc. It was before these places were discovered by mass tourism. In the Riviera tourism started in the second half of the XIX Century, so it's crowdy and most of the beaches are occupied by beach clubs. But we still have beautifull places were to go swimming for free (the Mount of Portofino is a natural protected area with a National Park). And I like hicking, swimming, snorkeling in quite places.

Thanks for a very nice vlog. Great to follow your adventures and especially this in Liguria Levante. My only concern is that you claim to judge the best beaches in Liguria, when you actually skip the longest and most southern coastline of Liguria, the Ponente. Looking at the beaches in Alassio, Spotorno, Noli etc they can very well compete with the ones in the Levante. Also, much less tourists so if you stay out of August you are more likely to find plenty of space on the public beaches. Maybe this will be your next vlog? 😊
