Christmas in Vancouver // Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park 🎄✨ (must see)
มุมมอง 1.4K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
If you're looking for something to do over the holidays in Vancouver, the Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park should be on the top of your list! It's Christmas - rainforest style. Plus it's dog friendly (on leash) Welcome to my Christmas Special! Last week I attended a Canon Canada and Socality creator event here in Vancouver. We had the Canyon Lights all to ourselves for three hou...
I went to GREENLAND // camping in the ARCTIC with a view of MASSIVE icebergs in Disko Bay (glamping)
มุมมอง 2.8K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
I camped in two of the most remote places on earth, only accessed by boat - with massive icebergs floating right in front of the tents! Not only was I camping... but I was camping in STYLE (glamping). Nomad Greenland operates two luxury, sustainable camps with many of the comforts of home - but none of the stress/noise of daily modern life. In this video I visit Nuuk (Greenland's capital city),...
ICELAND // puffins & puffling season - Westman Islands, Stokksnes, Reynisfjara and more (+GREENLAND)
มุมมอง 1.5K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
There's an island off the coast of Iceland where locals throw baby puffins (pufflings) off of cliffs! Wild right? The good news is, this is actually beneficial to the pufflings. The island is called Heimaey, and is part of the Vestmannaeyjar Archipelago - otherwise known as Westman Islands. I spent 5 days in Iceland and this was the highlight of my trip! I also visited the famous Stokksnes beac...

EPIC Bald Eagle feeding frenzy in British Columbia, Canada // "the Eagle Show" (HUNDREDS of eagles!)
มุมมอง 3.2Kปีที่แล้ว
300-400 Bald Eagles all feeding in one place! This phenomenon is unique to one small area off the coast of Vancouver Island. Once a year from late May to early July hundreds of eagles can be found in a feeding frenzy that is unlike anything you'll ever see. The ocean here is known for its wild currents and whirlpools, which force juvenile hake fish up from the depths and trap them at the surfac...
My birthday trip to TOFINO // hot springs cove + remote kayaking in Clayoquot Sound (I saw a whale!)
มุมมอง 4.2Kปีที่แล้ว
On this trip I visited Hot Springs Cove, went on a remote kayaking tour in the heart of Clayoquot Sound, and stayed at an airbnb that is just steps from Chesterman Beach. My birthday gift to myself this year is a new telephoto lens for my camera to use for wildlife photography/videos....
Backpacking to Lindeman Lake // best beginner backpacking trip near Vancouver, BC. (dog friendly)

Lindeman Lake is one of the BEST beginner backpacking trips close to Vancouver, BC. Located in Chilliwack, this hike is short and steep, but the views from the campsite are incredible! 6 years on...is your back still in working order? Geez, just doing some realtime pound math and you gotta be pushing plus 40lbs with a rig like this. It's an underappreciated art form to simplify and minimize the accoutrements. Informative bits I've picked up, ditch the mummy bag opt for quilts, lighter weight more compressible and the insulation requires space to fluff out to trap the warm air your body emits and that's rendered useless when you lay on top of the bottom section of a sleeping bag so half the bag is completely redundant. Tents and sleeping pads have to be thought about in tandem. Most tent companies bid their products to accommodate narrow sleeping pads so if you enjoy the additional space of a 25 inch pad you have to scale up. For instance, 2 people select a 3 person tent etc. So much crucial information to consider with only a few of the most vital items and this overload of trivial items detracts from it. You got a lot of applause for this but I have to be the dissenting voice here and pray no one emulated you to just end up breaking their backs and banks.

Nice channel! Like the scenes from Saqqaq. We sail every year by our own boat from Nuuk to Saqqaq! There are 3 huge bird cliffs where thousands of seabirds breed every year, just apx. 1 hour by boat from Saqqaq. Those places are also scenes to see!

Hey Nina, I stumbled across your channel while reminiscing about a trip my wife and I took to the Canadian Rockies a few years ago. We visited Maligne Lake as part of our trip and took one of the boat tours over to Spirit Island, and I made the comment that I would LOVE to come back at some point and kayak to one of the campgrounds there….it’s just so visually stunning, as I know you’re fully aware!! Your video of the trip there was really enjoyable and rekindled that desire to head back there….really well done video!! Looking forward to watching more of your channel in the coming days as well. I also wanted to ask you a few questions about kayak camping there, whenever we do decide to head back that way….we live in North Carolina, so this would be an epic road trip if we opted to actually go that route…I’m sure we could find some other adventures along the way, lol. Anyway, here goes…. What’s the best time of year to kayak camp? I’m assuming spring/summer would be the obvious choice, but not really sure. Any favorite campgrounds that you’d recommend? I know you mentioned another one that you’d stayed at on a previous trip, but wasn’t sure if that was your favorite? I don’t have the map in front of me, but would it be feasible to paddle beyond Spirit Island to the further end of the lake? Are there campgrounds beyond where you stayed? I think that’s about it for now, but if you have any other useful tidbits, please pass them along. Oh, one final humorous note….my wife and I occasionally tune into several TH-cam channels involving kayaking/camping/etc., and now that we’ve added you to the mix, we follow three other Canadian-based adventurers!! I think we’ve developed an appreciation for both the beauty of Canada and the warm, friendly personalities of the folks we follow. Maybe moving north of the border might be in our retirement future, lol. Cheers, Woody

Been backcountry camping on Vancouver Island with my spouse. On or first outing we carried store bought meals; they were disgusting and laden with salt. After a full day of hiking, we'd consume an entire package each, which was often 2 or more servings. Aside form the blandness, the notion of intaking 5000% of one's daily sodium allowance in a single meal was eye-opening. We continue to camp in the deep wilderness; now we cook and dehydrate our own meals. They're delicious, nutritious, and reconstitute far better than store bought. Sodium levels are also sane. Happy trails!
