- This backpacking gear is durable and long lasting with technical features that are comparable to some of the top outdoor brands I have tried - all with a reasonable price tag! In this video you'll get my honest opinion of this gear and who I think it is for.
@MECVideos MEC (Mountain Equipment Company) is a Canadian outdoor retailer that has been selling exceptional products at fair prices since 1971. When I first got started backpacking, I bought most of my camping and backpacking gear from MEC - and continue to do so to this day! I still have and use a few of the items that I bought from them when I first started out over 5 years ago. MEC is a great place to find camping & backpacking gear on a budget.
A few months ago when I reached out to MEC with the idea for this video, they kindly agreed to gift me a gear setup of the core items that you need to get started with backpacking. Have recently started to get into the camping world with the help of my friend who’s introduced me to this cool new thing. Never had the chance to camp growing so only now discovering how much I enjoy it. Slowly starting to accumulate my own gear and stop relying on my friend to let me borrow his tent. @@NinaDefilla I've actually never been before because it's always so busy. I actually picked it for my first trip from your Joffrey video!! It's steep but I think being able to rest at each lake before getting to the top will really help even though I'm so out of shape 🤣
Start early, I was there at 5:30 am just before sunrise last fall and was the first on the trail. We had time to enjoy each lake and take a bunch of pictures with no one around. We only started seeing people at the second lake in the way back down. Amazing experience, you’ll love it
