I visited and hike Joffre at the beginning of July, drove up and hiked and back home for one day. It was a FUN 12 hour day adventure. The incline was hard, but so worth it. I can’t imagine carrying an overnight pack, food and camera gear. Way to go.
This is inspirational to me. I want to get out to the beautiful parks and camp but animals scare me and born and raised in the city life without a toilet isn't an appealing experience. I've only been glamping
Hello! I am binge watching all of your videos at the moment. Joffre Lake is one of the most beautiful places I've seen you go to so far! Stay safe out there✌🏽
Do you have a background in filming? I can only imagine the times you’ve stubbed your toes on loose rocks and/or scaled to find the perfect shot. Haha.
Hi Nina. It was nice to see this video. It reminds me of the time when i also camped there for the first time with my wife in 2013.Back then the lower and middle portion of the trail was more wild as it was not filled in with gravel like it is now. We had a camp spot right by the lake. We also hiked up to the terminus of Matier Glacier to check out the impressive seracs. Not recommend to go there tho without someone with glacier travel experience. Thx again. Nice filming and editing skills. 😊
Loved this video!! New to backpacking and hoping to get a reservation for Joffre mid-July. Coming from the Okanagan so thinking of staying 2 nights, are there some day hike areas around the campsite to fill up a day?
Loved your videos. please also try to add more information for photographers/filmmakers like what's the best timing for perfect lighting or months to visit there. I'm a wedding filmmaker tho 😅 SUBSCRIBED ♡
Video looked great. Good for you getting out there on your own. What a beautiful spot. I'm in Ontario which is great for camping and filming my trips but BC is incredible. You are right about needing more time on trips because of the constant stopping to film , etc. When I started my camping channel it was a big shock at how long things take. Anyways thanks for sharing your adventure.
You never miss with your videos! This was awesome. The quality of your content is amazing and your positive vibes come through the screen. Keep it up because I love your content. ❤
Thanks Adam! I’m stoked for backpacking a season too 😊 I used my Canon RP and my iPhone to film this one. I find the iPhone is great for the trail shots. It’s faster than setting up my camera each time
I just came back from my first ever overnight backpacking trip and I did it solo. I chose a campground close to home but it was a 7 mile hike with a 5,000 ft elevation gain. I ran out of water and didn’t have a water filter lol😅 but thankfully the only other camper there had a water filter and helped me out. Rookie mistake. Other than that it went really well. I’m so sore! Lol
Thank you for that! For beautiful unforgettable landscapes! You travel a lot, well done! For cool videos! I wish you success, always a great mood and new unforgettable trips!❤️🤚👍👌👌👌🔥🔥🔥✊
Start small with little day trip hikes & car camping solo b4 doing an overnighter, but car camp & hike with ur full overnighter load out as if it were ur actual overnighter, so if u get scared, u can always bail & sleep secure in the car & modify ur hike next time. Build ur confidence slowly & correct ur mistakes as u go, building ur hiking system, and then tackle the solo overnighter. Use a checklist & check things off as u put them in ur pack so u won't forget anything. The bear nightmares are a real thing here, but if u take the proper precautions with all scented items going in ur bear container, u should be fine. But accidents happen, i would go as far as wearing an adult bib (hopefully dyneema from garage grown gear, but they don't exist yet) so to not contaminate my camp clothes & attract a bear to my tent while i sleep, either MMJ medicated or wearing ear plugs, probably both 😝
Beautiful sceneries but I'm confused about when did you do this hike. It wasn't under snow and ice during April. I'm waiting to go there because of the snow. I would love if you can help me with my question. Thanks
Hi, I always wonder if you can put your tent anywhere ?I would love to do this kind of thing but I never know if I have the right 😅. Another good video btw 😊
Thanks for watching! I always research the area before I set out on a hike. There are many places that you need a permit camp. I linked the reservations website for this area in my description
In the alpine, the growing season may only be a few short months, so we are required to set our tents on the provided tent pads for less damage to the environment, but there are some overflow areas...
Hello, you are brave... I leave in my vehicule now for 4 yeards. I nevers did serious hiking during my trip photo. And i Nevers try to camp in tent.. I prefereb to stay and sleep inside my suv. Me and bear are not good friend... what i have to said, you are verry equip for camping 😮, alone its not easy!!!
Thanks for the support! I prefer to sleep inside my vehicle too when I’m car camping. But I can’t always drive my 4Runner to the places I want to camp lol
omg this is so beautiful and inspiring 🙌🏼 I am thinking of visiting BC solo from Quebec (f,34), but I am scared! 😱 I won’t allow that feat from stopping me, so I think that planning it a bit will make me feel more secure (I am a more spontaneous traveller 😂).Anyways, do you think a 7-10 day trip would be enough time to go on various hiking adventures? Also, transportation from Vancouver seems complicated, so is it feasible without a car? lastly, do you know of any hiking groups/tours for solo female or mixed to meet people and make transportation easier? omerci!
Sorry for the late reply here. That’s great that you are coming for a visit! Depending on how many hikes you want to get in, that amount of time should be enough. I usually like to travel places for at least 10 days if I’m hiking. As for transportation, there are shuttles to certain areas and also ride share programs like EVO. I would search what is available and plan accordingly.

Ya it’s steep, but thankfully not too long of a hike! Thanks for watching 🥰
You are a brave woman!!
Lol thanks! It’s fun to hike solo sometimes

Thanks Cyn! Always appreciate you ❤️
I love Joffre lakes! I need to go back. When I went it was rushed, and I didn’t have my camera, I ran the trail and only went to the second lake.
Well at least you got to see the middle lake. It’s my favourite I think
this is awesome!
Thank you!

Thanks for tuning in! I don’t find it boring. I love solo travel. I learn a lot about myself and the area that I’m in

Hi @NinaDefilla what time of the year did you go camping in this video ?
Wow amazing! So inspiring and something I would love to do but I don't think I have the courage!!😂😂
It was tough to work up the courage, but now I’m addicted!

Hi Emilie! I filmed this video last September. The trail would still have snow right now I think

thank you for your reply!
Which lens are u using when you talking to the camera?
I use the Canon RF 15-35 2.8 for vlogging
And no bears!!!!
Only in my terrifying dream…haha
What month was this?
I believe this was sometime in September. We had a really warm fall last year
☯👍
hi...
Hello!
