Sexy Beast || First Time Watching || Movie Reaction and Review
I finally sat down to watch the critically acclaimed British crime film Sexy Beast. Known for its razor-sharp dialogue and Ben Kingsley's intense performance, this movie dives deep into the gritty world of retired gangsters and one final, high-stakes job.
Ben Kingsley’s portrayal of the terrifying Don Logan earned him an Oscar nomination and numerous awards, cementing Sexy Beast as a standout in the crime genre. Ray Winstone shines as the reluctant ex-con, and Ian McShane adds his signature gravitas to the mix.
If you're a fan of British cinema, dark humor, or films that keep you on edge, this one’s for you! Sexy Beast strikes a perfect balance between character-driven drama and an unrelenting sense of tension.

I think it’s wonderful how ‘emotionally invested’ you get whilst watching movies. It adds to the suspense/horror/humour/unfairness for us, as well as your insightful thoughts.
As tough as this film actually gets,i hope its not odd to say, that this film feels like an old friend.I always go back and revisit it.Its a masterpiece in its own right. And on a personal level im English and it brings me back home. Because i dont live there now... i miss it quite a bit! So for me its fantastic to hear all them accents in such a well loved and highly thought of film.
Never figured Aussies could carry on like KKK or Aryan Brotherhood.
You shoul try 0%Guinness
The bullying of Anthony is a very British abuse tactic, your bullies come with smiles, make you their friend, and then at your most vulnerable they initiate the horrific abuse. Usually, if you protest, they tell you that you can't take a joke, and that you're too sensitive (and made to feel like you're the weird one). Then, It's like the flipping of a switch and they're all friendly and smiles again (but that's just a scheme to ensure they can further abuse you).
These guys are super talented…look up the Folksman.
The movie depicts the youthful optimism some were. Gallipoli was where the ADF Australian Defence Force was noticed. And the light horse brigade. The ones that did the last charge on horseback, who charged Beersheba in Israel. And ANZAC means Australia New Zealand Army Core.
I remember watching this one Saturday afternoon and walking outside and hard just started raining heavily and I just needed to stand out there and absorb everything I just witnessed. Such a brilliant film.
Your reaction moved me to tears
Watch Candy (2006)
That cheeky, knowing wink made my heart flutter
That camera man filming was actually Kubrick
Bro might a bit slow because of muscles, but you slow on reality for grace boi
Dat uncle bloody bully end scene was vicious
Would the documentary you saw happen to be beyond the mat?
Surely it's time for 'BLACK SHEEP', the New Zealand COMEDY/splatter masterpiece??!!!!! Chrisse will love it.
I was JUST looking it up today!
@@chrissiereacts YAY!!! Thank you for having such a varied mix of movies. You haven't been bought out, like most channels. I can't believe how many channels have ALL OF THE SAME MOVIES on them. It's like some group is paying them all to react to the same bland shit. Love and best wishes from New Zealand. You Canadians are much more 'savvy', than the ignorami from the U.S.A. It's very refreshing to witness your genuine enthusiasm. You are my favourite movie reactor!!!!
Can we just take a second to appreciate Chrissie dropping lines from the great Jarvis Cocker, yes everyone hates a tourist. If i could i would give this video extra likes for not only quoting Pulp but in the perfect situation.
Hartman, played by R.L.Ermey, was a Marine, in Vietnam and a Drill Instructor. So he is not really acting. LOL
Its a bio ...
It's throughout Pakeha household as well. There is a message in this about bitterness in some tribes towards other tribes and their standing in in society, Jake new his lineage and the shame of coming from low caste slaves ate at him. The New Zealand Government has never stopped being the occupying greedy and now today they are trying to put them over the kitchen table. I'm 65year Pakeha guy and I love the Maori and are honored to live on their lands beside them.I got six Maori tamariki and eighteen Maori moko. Domestic violence is around the world with white males being the biggest offenders by a mile. I think Maori should hold at least six permanent important seats in Government no matter what the other two parties are. They are their's permanently, call them the Sovereign Maori seats and all the better if the Maori Party gets in and they have a stronger representation. Aroha nui
That far canal, sounded like an Aussie. 🤣🤣👏👏👏
The Australian losses at Gallipoli during World War I were significant. The campaign, which lasted from April 25, 1915, to January 9, 1916, resulted in heavy casualties for Australian forces as part of the Allied effort to seize the Gallipoli Peninsula from the Ottoman Empire. Australian Casualties at Gallipoli: • Total killed in action or died of wounds: Approximately 8,709 Australians. • Total wounded: Approximately 19,441 Australians. • Total casualties (killed and wounded): Around 28,150 Australians. These losses represented a substantial portion of the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) involved in the campaign. The Gallipoli campaign holds a special place in Australian history as a defining moment in the nation’s identity, despite its military failure. It is commemorated annually on ANZAC Day (April 25), honoring the bravery and sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand troops. Percentage Impact of WW1: • Percentage of adult males who served: ~38%. • Percentage of adult males killed or injured: ~20%. This level of service and loss was among the highest of any country involved in the war, reflecting the enormous contribution and sacrifice made by Australia in proportion to its population. The devastating impact shaped Australian society and is a key reason why WWI occupies such a prominent place in national memory.
Never apologise for being unwell. It’s not like you chose to be sick. I suffered a stroke some months ago, was expected to die, had to learn to walk again, had to recover my sight in the left eye…. It was pretty intense. It’s an ongoing process, I have good days, bad days, and terrible days. I didn’t choose it, it just happened. Like any illness, you don’t choose it, it chooses you. Good reaction, regardless. I’m a fan, you are very relatable.
You really are dumb, how was he supposed to intervene against an army of maniacs by himself when he is far away?
One of our best films - if you haven’t seen it yet watch “Gettin Square” - an Aussie crime caper/drama from 2003 with Sam Worthington and David Wenham - one of my favourites
Some of this was dubbed for a US audience. For instance when the mum says "meatloaf" instead if "rissoles" as in the Australian original.
The campaign did not last a year. It began on 25 April 1915 and all allied troops were evacuated by 20 December on the same year. The campaign achieved nothing.
Thank you for your reaction this was a reality for us maori people in new zealand..
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them!
Why is Mel wearing his hat on backwards in the thumbnail?
Basically a Documentary. Peace from NZ
Great film... most were first time actors or had little experience but they did an awesome job displaying thise raw emotions through film
Or you have not watched it from the beginning to the end
Hanging over there on your headphones stuff
Do you know anything about the actors and actresses in the movie do you know anything about the actress and actors in the movie can you
Anyways Miss Chrissy did you ever watch this movie from beginning to end I think not
Anyways Miss Chrissy
I remember when someone said to me "Your childhood house was like Once Were Warriors", it made me realize even more that I'd NEVER be like that. Ever. Not that I was, but hey you never know.
Ben is the boss in this. Ralph Fiennes channeled this for his In Bruges performance I bet.
I can see that!
I forgotten how much I loved this movie. Haven't seen it since it first came out in 1981 when I was 11yrs old.
I'm crying 😭😭 again
I first saw this movie back in 2011, just days before I was separating from the Navy. I just remember being scared because I had spent my whole adult life in the Navy. Needless to say, this movie inspired me. After two months, I stepped on the mats at an MMA gym. I still train today because this movie inspired me to keep moving forward no matter what life throws at you.
The sequel is even better! Highly recommended.
Ur funny as fuq crying and shit🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank you 😊
Fun fact, Ray was a taxi driver in real life, this show is a fiction parody of his real life. "Some say Ryan was a real-life rent-a-kill, a jailbird, military sniper or ex-psychiatric patient. On the public record, he first pops up in 2005, then vanishes for 13 years until reappearing in 2018. By then Ryan’s story and Shoesmith’s are one legend: a man from nowhere who is now everywhere." Edit* Please watch The Magician by Ray, it's the same character :)
Your "reaction" was absolutely perfect, exactly the same as anyone else watching. Powerful movie.
You are out of your depth. We dont care about your opinions . Please stop.
Rude little person aren't you..... please stop
2:57 - Mime is money - That's Billy Crystal under the makeup.
Deathmatch is great. Glass, barbed wire etc. Great but not for everyone.
The best wrestling movie EVER.
Thanks for watching one of the best ever nz movies made. Kiaora from aotearoa ❤😊
