When Art Mirrors Art.....a few years later Kate Winslet won an Oscar for her role in "The Reader" and said to Ricky Gervais from the Awards Stage "I told you so!" 😀
IIRC, Ricky Gervais was presenting at an awards ceremony when Kate Winslet won something for The Reader (or shortly after her Oscar win maybe) and said something along the lines of "I told you so" to her from the stage in his monologue.
The lady playing the woman with cerebral palsy is/was a stand up comedian --- Francesca something I seem to remember, and always described herself as wobbly.
Kate did get an Oscar for a holocaust film, and Ricky Gervais looked out at her in the audience from the stage and said “I told you if you’d do a holocaust film you’d win an Oscar.”
The big joke was Kate Winslet at the time was being seen as the absolute darling of British cinema and for her to act so revolting throughout this episode was a shock to most. That's my only complaint about this series, it was the same for nearly every guest star.
Ah, I'm simultaneously glad you've seen it and sad that it couldn't be a feature on your channel. Your videos are awesome. I'm so glad extras is getting the love it deserves. Can't wait for the next one.
@@thewildgoose7467 LMAO 🤣😂🤣 BRILLIANT that was absolutely BRILLIANT that!!! Yeah I still can't believe we're living in a world without Bowie, breaks my heart!!! 💔
Seems like ages between ep 2 and 3, for something as short as these eps, maybe you could bundle them together a bit more? Better Momentum? Almost feels like these are the filler between other stuff...like showing 2 whole movies reactions between Extras. You're really treating Extras like extras!
Tropic Thunder is in my top 5 comedies of all time. This isn't my favorite episode either. The one with Patrick Stewart is hilarious. Don't remember which nr. that is. The Radcliffe one is also funny.
Not dated for laughing, dated in the sense that those questions/comments wouldn't come up today because we're more informed. Like adults asking if you can catch an STD from a toilet seat...that would sound dated today because we're more educated.
Wow you're like, really smart. I never would have pieced this together without your guidance. Please, keep up the good work. Ignore the haters. What you're doing here is very important. Don't give up on me. Keep commenting. Keep spreading the word 🙏
If by dated you mean that it is too offensive, then that's something that I just can't agree with 😆 _I was_ a bit irritated by Gervais' abundant pride that he used to show in his atheism

@@Talisman09 dated as in jokes and points in said episode aren’t really made these days, much like with older disney movies there are ignorances around whats been talked about or portrayed, the ignorances towards her in this episode is the very point of the comedy, and chrissie saying its dated is once again because it is LITERALLY DATED, it was a thing around this time but not so much now, much like little britain much like faulty towers and monty python, things cant be the same because people GET OFFENDED. @@chrissiereacts Yes,Chrissie:)
The "reveal" of him at the prayer circle in his white suit is PRICELESS!
Possibly the funniest thing Ricky's ever done
I'm sorry that episode of Extras was one of the best moments in television, it was brilliant, Winslet was hysterical!!!!!!!

It is very funny that Kate Winslet won an Oscar for The Reader after making this.
The outtakes on the calculator scene are funny 😂
What do you mean they could not make that in 2024...?? - 🤣
great stuff i never seen anyone react to this before, you found a niche!! i enjoyed that
100% you have to watch the bloopers from Extras after watching the seasons.
I forgot how funny this episode was. Enjoyed watching you laugh. Thanks Chrissie!😊

Didn't know that but I do remember her from Grange Hill back in the day.
I get it all the time with my arthritis. I walked in the pub one day and a woman exclaimed 'my god, what happened to you?'
I promptly replied 'acid'.
yer right so sophisticated & u know so much about cerebral palsy u can’t even say the word

I looked at the clip after reading this. Best callback ever haha

Love your Bowie shirt (''wink'')....
My favorite episode was the one with Samuel L. Jackson........................or was it Laurence Fishburne? 🤔
Hah!
Steady.
I love the one with David Bowie improving a song at the piano calling Ricky a fat little man!!! LOL
@@HonRevPTB ....with the "reserved" seating 😂. Been a Bowie fan all my life, he was so creative RIP

Cool that you're watching Taskmaster! How easy is it to stream the current series from Canada?
Super easy! It's all on TH-cam 😊

She was a part of the joke tho.... not dated. Making light of a bad situation. There's laughter in the darkest places.

I always think now how tattoos are so last decade, now it’s a rights of passage like a uniform of rebelliousness that everyone can partake in.
Interesting thoughts on phone sex vs sexting. I certainly wouldn't mind more details. 😉🤗

🤣🤣the fact that their ignorant about cerebral palsy is the joke its written like that on purpose its comedy not a drama 🤣🤣
