Man this is a really good video on exactly how to build a lean to! This is a really nice one! Everyone who owns a home needs a place to store stuff out of the way and out of the garage. I told my wife that if Santa Claus gets me a new miter saw for Christmas, I would build her a nice firewood shed. Well I got one. After watching this video, I think I just might also build her a shed like this so she can put all of her shovels, rakes, hoes, picks and axe and other stuff in it. I think I will put an air vent in it, and the bottom 1 foot of siding will be Hardee Board, so the bottom of the siding never rots from rain splash. And of course, I'll have to build a step to make it easier for her to go into the shed. :)

Excellent video, but there is a discrepancy between this and the pdf plans: the pdf calls for the second top plate on the sidewall frames to be 3' 8.5" and hang over. That is not the case in this video, where they are flush with the whole wall. In this video, the double top plates are added after the four walls are assembled (which, imo, is the easier approach).

I like the idea of a gravel bed for a shed rather than a concrete one. Water will drain through it if it gets wet, unlike concrete, which will sit on the surface and promote rot.

30 second bleach cleaner is my go to. I tried regular bleach and it just didn't work as well.

Please explain the benefit of using construction adhesive on the subfloor.

"Plumb.” Not level.

The J channel should have reached the bottom of your siding and then some. Vinyl siding over zip wall sheathing is way stronger, more durable, and easier to correctly flash penetrations. Aluminum nails are not necessary for vinyl siding.

Aren't the vents for ventilation?

When I did roofing in university (summer job), we always laid two courses of shingles on the bottom layer, one backwards, and the next the right direction. That ensured that there was no path for water between the gaps between shingle segments on the bottom layer. It left a small bump on the bottom. I guess your underlay is taking the job of that first reversed course of shingles?

I think any amount of wind that could blow a shingle loose, would blow the whole shed off those blocks and send it sailing down the yard😂. I dont trust sitting a shed on blocks like that, especially on a slope😮. Maybe fasten it to the ground since it is so small? I like many of the techniques and ways to measure!! Great video with great advice 👍

I've watched several videos trying to figure out how to install a couple windows on my new shed and none were as good as this video. Plan on installing them tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Former Tuff Shed sales guy here, couple of points. More floor joists can be added to decrease the spacing. If you are going to put something heavy in the shed, such as a Harley where there is concentrated weight it’s a good idea to spring for the added cost. As for the posted prices on the display, they used to have the base price and the as built price on the outside sign. In 2020 when building materials started going haywire they quit putting the as built price. That happened just after I left, I never agreed with it. I always looked at Tuff Shed’s as a building more than a shed. When built correctly they will last a long time. Don’t be afraid to do a little legwork on how they should be built and check the crew’s work before signing off. Just my 2 cents, they are a good company and I enjoyed my time working there.

Well made and easy to follow. Why did you not turn plywood using 3 full sheets? No cuts and eliminate middle joint. Theres no contraction issues and would have added a degree of rigidity with less work.

That siding on the house is an optical illusion.

That is against code to wrap your screw around the ground before wire nutting the wires together.
