Getting into Tokyo from NRT is definitely more challenging than from HND. I always try to fly into HND if I can. Glad you made it safely. Hope you had a great time in Tokyo!

I will never get to Australia, BUT I do have an ex RAAF Vietnam action Bomber pilot living across from me. Its rather a bad look for Australia because it seems he is not well looked after as a vet. It appears he has no family around, but there is no room for him to return to. Of course, he is well in his eighties, and only has this oddball. Kiwi to deal with.

So glad you made it there. I love Japan the people sre super polite and helpful. Singapore is clean but Japan takes clean and tidy toe whole new level. I reckon you will be back. Hello Luke, how are things going mate?Pretty lovely I believe from the video I just watched.Another wonderful flight review indeed.JAL is a top airline in the world.I have only flew with them once when I was 10 years old on a DC-8 late night flight from Cairo to Athens back at 80s.Not much to remember.I have to agree with you about this 2-2-2 business class seat configuration.That works much better with couples flying together than with strangers.Who knows maybe JAL thinks that flights bring us closer.Anyway enjoy your staying in Osaka and I will see you on the next.Cheers from Athens

I love it there and can't wait to go back another time! i've flown ANA but JAL certainly one to try by the sounds in general! 30k points and $100 odd taxes sounds like a good way to experience biz class without breaking the bank to me (even if it wasn't the most up to date product)! Qantas after all want like 40,000 pts i think for biz on a recliner across Australia haha

Glad you liked Taiwan. Compared to prc they are almost like Aussie in being forthwrite in most of my dealings there . Pre check on seat configuration always a plus. Guess lesson learned there . Japan you should love. Nice folk very little bs and so clean. Bit hexy these days though when are back home? Thanks for the update

I have travelled in Vietnam Airlines multiple times from Tokyo HND to HAN and Tokyo NRT to SGN and I have had the exact opposite experience than yours, perhaps because most of my Vietnamese fellow travellers were foreign workers in Japan and they learned all the decencies, common courtesies, plane etiquette, and civic sense while living in Japan. A couple of times I travelled in Viet Business Class and let me assure you, their Business Class is far far better than Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways. One thing I must mention here. The washrooms in Vietnam Airlines are the cleanest, with a mild Lemon Grass fragrance all around. Absolutely wonderful experience.

I was wondering why you visited Hefei, and I got my answer. I like Hefei, but it's not somewhere tourists would go. But you're no tourist. I was told by a friend in Hefei "There are 2 things you never see here, aliens and foreigners." I'm pretty sure it went from 3 to 2 hours is stopping less. Like going between Shanghai and Hangzhou can take like 1.5hrs, but if you get a non-stop train, it takes like 30-40min. Did they preserve any room/part of the prison as a little museum?

Hi Luke, excellent video. My family and I traveled both ways during he day on the Overland between Melbourne and Adelaide back in 2013. When we went there, there were three return trips a week. This video brings back some great memories of our trip. Murray Bridge was one of my favourite locations, especially when we were crossing the Murray River on the actual old bridge after leaving Murray Bridge Station heading towards Adelaide. I'm heading to Taipei / Kaohsiung in November, cannot wait! How did you settle your seat assignment booking through QF? I'm having a nightmare with mine. I'm flying CI MEL TPE CTS. I noticed very subtle cosmetic differences between the cabins of this 777 and the newer A350, damn they are one of the most beautiful business class cabins I've ever seen though. Good to see they've brought back hot towels. It wasn't reinstated from COVID when I flew them to NZ . I wonder if your delay was one of those legendary Chinese ATC related ones? Great video!

Great trip report, both times I've flown Taiwanese carriers both EVA AND China Airlines in economy it as been an A class experience! Would love to fly one of their business class products one day, certainly sounds like QF points could be a cost effective way to do it! Taiwan is an amazing place was very impressed after my short visit last year didn't really know what to expect going there but certainly left wanting to see more. Can't wait to go back there sooner or later and explore it proper beyond just the immediate Taipei area which is an amazing city in itself!

At least the flight crew kept passengers updated re the late departure, China Airlines appears to have looked after u well all-in-all., what a awesome big trip overseas away from Australia guess it’s all been worth it though✈️👍

Lovely flight on that China Airlines business class.I've never flown on a Chinese airline ever but they seem to be quite decent.I only flew once business class on an Emirates A380 from Dubai to Brisbane and it was a real pleasure. I've been to Taiwan a number of times and always had the best time. The Taiwanese are extremley friendly, it's extremely easy to travel around and there's lots to see and do.
