Brand New Qantas A220 Experience (Melbourne to Canberra)

- Welcome back to another video, and in today's adventure I am going to be flying from Melbourne to Canberra with Qantas on their brand new aircraft, the airbus a220. Today's video will start with me making my way down to Melbourne where I will stay the night before catching the early morning shuttle bus over to Melbourne Airport. From here we will board the first Qantas a220 with the special indigenous livery and takeoff up towards Canberra. The trip report will provide my thoughts on the new aircraft and we will end the trip in Canberra after touching down from a 40 minute flight in the new aircraft.

Thanks mate! Yeah it was a great flight as you can tell from how buzzed I was after 😆 I never usually geek out like that… but it was warranted. It’s like a flying whale with that hum it makes during spool up. This was actually my first time flying into Canberra! Great 12 hours there and will definitely go back! Luke thank you ... flying on that aircraft in a few weeks by accident up and back to QLD - the Bonza is Gonza non-accident - booked it on purpose to fly something new, in this case very new ...

Absolute awesome flight review there Luke!, love that A220 of Qantas., hopefully sometime in the future when Qantas have more of the A220's that they will fly them over the Tasman to New Zealand.

Great video, Luke! I recently flew the A220 for the first time and loved it too. The big windows are really nice and the cabin seemed very quiet. I would definitely seek it out again.

Does the A220 move about / shake more than a 737 being a smaller aircraft?
That really depends on the weather conditions… it was smooth sailing on the day I flew.. but sure… it is a slightly smaller aircraft so it would possibly move about more.
Cheers Luke,I hope everything is Ok down under.Brilliant flight review mate and a plane I would like to fly on.I could never imagine a Qantas plane painted in green-white livery except red and white but this one is really beautiful.After all it's a Qantas link jet.I like the exterior and the interior too.That howling engine sound is very distinct and after this so quiet while spooling up and climbing.I can understand your excitement after flying a brand new plane for the first time because I feel the same too whenever that happens.Happy flights mate,see you on the next,greetings from Athens.
Hey Yannis! Hope all is well with you and the family over in Greece mate! I suppose with the indigenous livery there was that exception to the paint scheme. a220 getting very popular around europe air baltic fleet is all 220s about 50
Yeah I saw that recently.
Swiss and Air France also have a decent fleet of the A220s. Looking forward to when Qantas has the a220s…and a350s 😁
How good is the A220, I'm on a A220 Brisbane-Melbourne flight next week and managed to snag a business reward seat so keen for it

wow, what an amazing video, i wish that they did the roo on the wingtip but instead of red, they made it green, regardless, its great to see the qantas fleet renewal project kick into gear!

Another fine informative review. Was it just my deaf old ears or is it a LOT quieter than the 73's Also that landing seemed to grease it on ?
Hey Phil! Your ears are fine mate 😆 just a very quiet plane! Once it spools up your hear the whale 🐋 hum… then it’s nice and quiet. Hope all is well!
