Very detailed and honest report. Well done. Great audio too, easy to get wrong but you nailed that experience too. I’m glad you featured a little bit of Adelaide. The city doesn’t get as much attention since we don’t have that many international flights. Well done mate! Already look forward to the next one. 😊
@@MyAdelaide I appreciate the comment! Yeah totally agree, so I am looking forward to more international carriers returning such as China Southern and Cathay! Glad we have Emirates back with the 777.. definitely a flight id love to try possibly next year.
Last time I flew EK was in 2009. It's scary to think they still have business class seats on the 777 from that time still flying. And yes, EK and the A380 is truly an indulgent way to travel. QF points are so useful for jaunts like this. 😊
@@ryansofly Yeah that’s some time for sure. Not overly surprised as I recently had a colleague fly ADL-DXB 777 Business and wasn’t overly impressed… pretty sure it was the 2-3-2 config… but I think they have updated some of these aircraft. Very tempted to try first class… but would rather wait for a longer route to really enjoy it.
Excellent report at every level. Well done to the EK staff for promoting their carrier in a nice professional way. Big tick to the growth of subscribers and I hope they pass and share your content around. Tip hook into NZ BLUFF oysters as long a son flours or some sauces that contain wheat etc natural they are the bomb beat even your coffin bay ones also thanks for the pricing Cheers bloke
Fantastic review mate, great showing off the start of the trip in Adelaide with the flight to Sydney first as well as per the spectacular views coming in over the Southern Alps of NZ. Also stayed at that hotel a few years back due to a flight cancellation between Perth and Wellington leading to a necessary overnight stay in Sydney. Absolutely loved it - would be great for plane spotters!. What an experience on the A380 certainly the no brainer choice for using points compared to a QF 737 on the route! With such a short flight it would be hard to choose between time in the bar at at the magnificent seat haha!
@@AussieJetSetter The views are incredible coming into NZ and really wish I had more time over there. I’d like to take Cindy down to Queenstown and hike up Ben Lomond and spend a few days down there. Also fly into the Windy City of Wellington! Definitely love to do that trip in the next couple of years. Yeah the Citadines is a great hotel! the business class rooms have a great view over to the airport. Haha yes 100%… I flew the QF737 back and would definitely recommend EK over the QF option. It’s a shame they are no longer operating the QF 787 (Sydney to Auckland)… that was great value for points… can’t remember exactly but business was only around 21k point plus taxes around 100 or so… was a crazy deal at the time Feb 2020. Cheers for the support mate 👍
@@Nae395 I appreciate the comment Nick! I’m trying to adopt a quality over quantity approach with my videos… making them info packed… much easier to make in Business class as well due to privacy and not filming others etc. cheers 👍
I’ve always wanted to fly first class on the A380 Emirates 🇦🇪 the cheapest flight I could find in first class is the Bangkok to Hong Kong flight ✈️ for only $1500 return if you book well in advance. It’s only a 3 hour flight each way but worth doing it.
Hey Luke how are you mate? What a nice flight you had with the A380.I am always amazed by the size of these magnificent planes since I flew on one of these a few years ago in business too.Business class in Emirates is preety comfortable and their service especially in long hauls is amazing.I can't remember how many times the crew came to my seat asking me if I needed something in the 14 hour flight I had.Greetings from Athens
@@flyingdentist Hey Yannis! Hope you and the family are well over in Greece! Yeah 100% these aircraft are incredible. Thankfully I flew on the latest update! And what a beauty! All the best over in Athens and I’ll see you there next year my friend! 🤞
Great report, we are currently saving up to fly Emirates Business class from Brisbane to Manchester UK. Should get the full experience on a long haul flight. Can't wait.
@@wildlifeinanaustralianback4173 That’s the way! Much better getting a long haul. I’m making my way over to Europe next year and planning to fly Emirates for at least part of the way there or back. Cheers 👍
@@Nae395 100%… At one point Qatar had an Adelaide to Auckland flight where you could fly in the Q Suite for $1000… about a 4 hour flight I think… but never got around to it. I think Qatar bought a minority stake in VA… so who knows.. maybe some more fifth freedoms on the way.

Great review 👍. I’m flying Emirates business class from LHR to DXB, departing 19:50. Will probably recline my seat, rather than a flat bed.

Emirates should use this aircraft to fly to Vancouver.
Honest question would you prefer to fly an old Qantas 767 or Emirates A380 or even Latam's 787's to NZ. Nough said.
@@josephphillips9243 Qantas 767?
I have no interest in flying Latam 787 to be honest! Maybe one day… but Emirates would be my choice by far.
Hey Luke did you use Qantas points and how much!
Hey mate, yeah I say in the video. It was 43800 points and $197 in taxes.
The breakfast looked good!
@@Nae395 It was excellent! Next time I won’t have anything in the lounge first.
These local fifth freedoms are so much fun on Emirates, China Airlines, Qatar (sometimes) etc to NZ.
