    Cloud 9 is all hype. It's only slightly more comfortable than a regular seat because it's wider than a regular seat. I can't even figure out why they put springs in the back of mine because honestly I don't feel the springs move at all. Then again it squeaks like crazy and even clicks here and there. The mounts are good and tight and have been lightly greased... The clicking remains the squeaking remains. Maybe I got a counterfeit? I can't imagine anybody wanting to build a counterfeit seat 🙄... Either way after 10 mi I was getting little numb spots... After 73 mi, it was really hurting. Every Hill I coasted down was an opportunity to stand up and get some circulation back. I don't know what it was back in the day, but my mother's old bicycle had a seat that was so comfortable and it was ridiculous looking like a Cadillac on a post. But that thing was comfortable. I've never seen anything like it since my childhood. The bottom line, I took the cloud 9 and threw it in the corner and put on my regular seat. At least then it looks better. That ridiculous C9 in the back is just a billboard advertisement that I was willing to put up with if it really provided me with comfort... But since it doesn't , I won't be advertising 😂

    Tried it twice on an Aventon Aventure2, did nothing. There is really no reason to disassemble it, it's water-based and a decent rinse will remove it. It very much resembles valve lapping compound, though seems finer grit.

      I personally haven’t had any issues. The rinse takes care of it. But if you wanted, you could do a quick wipe down of the rotors with isopropyl alcohol after you are done cleaning. That should remove any residue.

    oh my goodness, I just tried this. I never had disc brakes before, and bought a used disc brake bike. Nice bike except the very loud squeal on front and back brakes. As I was doing the front brake, and cleaning the rotor with alcohol and shop rag, I got a very noticeable squeak, just from moving the rotor while applying alcohol. OMG, these brakes are designed to squeal. But after the moment of panic, I continued on. And I would say the final result is the front brake is not squeaking and the back brake can still squeak under heavy braking but for the most part, it's ridable now. Before it would wake the entire neighborhood.

    • @TinkeringTurtle
      @TinkeringTurtle 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am glad it helped. The vast majority of the time cleaning the disc and pads with isopropyl alcohol will do the trick. On a few bikes I have had to use this product. And one bike I actually ended up replacing the caliper to eliminate the problem. Enjoy your bike!

    Had a problem with my Ocelot Pro, working with Magicycle to fix it. We’ve changed the display, the controller, the harness, the cadence sensor. Bike now runs in throttle and pas mode but it runs at full speed regardless of pas settings. Even runs at pas0. Still displays code 30 and also doesn’t update distance or anything related to it. I’m wondering if the controller they sent me was faulty? Appreciate your thoughts! Been down for about 6 weeks. Sure would like to get back out and ride again! Any help appreciated! Thanks

    • @TinkeringTurtle
      @TinkeringTurtle 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As you probably know, error code 30 indicates a communication problem between the screen and controller. You have replaced all the components (display, controller and harness) that would be connected with that issue. I’m not certain what else you could do. Maybe pull the connectors apart and see if any of the pins are bent. But I would guess that isn’t the issue. Was the controller they sent you new? This definitely feels like a bad controller or possibly display… sry I couldn’t really help.

      I don’t think so. While it might not be as strong as the normal configuration. I have jumped curbs pulling up pretty hard without issue. Hi Tim, I hope you've been well. Recently, my wife had a flat tire on her Himiway Cruiser. Of course it had to be the back tire! LOL. Anyway, I had installed Tannus Armour liners about 2 years ago but I was surprised when I took the tire off the rim to repair the inner tube, that the liners were now thin. They no longer had that cushion like they did when new. I reached out to Tannus and was told that they will compress and I should air down the tires monthly and put the bike in the sun to help decompress the liners and for better results, to remove the liners and leave them in the hot sun for several hours. I thought that was a strange response. Who is going to do that every month? What are your thoughts on this? I can forward the email response I received if you like. Rob

      I have heard that before. I didn’t realize they wanted you to do it monthly, but I have heard they wanted you to let it relax. I personally don’t. So mine are likely thinned out. I figure they still give some protection, just not as much. I haven’t been purchasing them for new bikes, but I have been re-using them when switching tires. I went to a new type of tire and so far I haven’t had any flats. I think the knobby tires that come with the bike tend to catch debris and sets it up for a puncture. My new tires don’t seem to catch the debris the same way. They just roll over them. They do feel a little different while riding … more grippy. But once you’re used to it, it is really nice. I show them in this video: th-cam.com/video/0OyWdeUt7ts/w-d-xo.html

      @@TinkeringTurtle Thanks for the reply Tim. I agree that there is some protection there but not much anymore. We have over 1,000 miles on the tires so maybe it's time to get different ones. I'll watch the video you linked!

    What saddle do you recommend?

      I have tried two different brands. Cloud9 and YLG oversized. Out of the two I do prefer the Cloud9 by a fairly wide margin. The YLG was just a little tougher to pedal with, and I don’t have that issue with the Cloud9. These are the two cloud9 saddles we have used on our bikes. with springs: amzn.to/3WXoxtD without springs: amzn.to/450i17r Watch this video for more info on why I put the cloud9 without springs on my wife’s bike. th-cam.com/video/_DPQsdBFSIE/w-d-xo.html

    Really informative video, thanks. I still wouldn’t like to remove the rear wheel at the roadside to repair a puncture. 😀

      Glad it was helpful! I can’t disagree with you. To be honest, I have always sent my wife home to get the truck so I could fix the issue at home in my garage. It’s just easier.

    I take it the 20A battery, won't fit the step-thru? As it is, there is 'just' enough room for the 17.5 Ah battery.

      If I understand your question, you want to know if a 20ah “reention” form factor battery will fit into the Himiway cruiser stepthru frame, is that right? I looked up a 20ah battery on aliexpress and it says it is 110mm tall. (4.33”) And judging by the picture, it looks like that dimension includes the mount. So based on that it would be close. Although I cannot guarantee it. Here is the link to the battery I looked at: www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804377523018.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.3.1bdfFd5KFd5KPL&algo_pvid=fa4a216f-8c25-4a86-8943-30da49960a2f&algo_exp_id=fa4a216f-8c25-4a86-8943-30da49960a2f-1&pdp_npi=4%40dis%21USD%21579.00%21330.03%21%21%21579.00%21330.03%21%402101e83717162041665075407e28fa%2112000029658646928%21sea%21US%212626621444%21&curPageLogUid=tu0pufGi2YMI&utparam-url=scene%3Asearch%7Cquery_from%3A

    Thank you for the video, Will it be suitable for mountain biking to absorb shocks? How about the performance on flat surfaces, does it move with every pedal stroke? I am abit worried to lose power while pedaling due to moving seat position. What do u advise

    • @TinkeringTurtle
      @TinkeringTurtle 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t notice it moving with pedal strokes too much. Although it is possible it move some. As for mountain biking, it will definitely absorb the shocks. But all that being said I look at this as more of a cruiser accessory. I won’t be able to tell you how it would hold up to mountain biking as I don’t really do that type of riding.
