I am 62 with a bone on bone knee so I know what you mean and that's why I got the Zebra step-thru. I also love tinkering with the Ebike and I have got so many upgrades on my Zebra. I have had it for 1 year now and have 4000 miles on it. I live in fla. were you can ride year around. I try to put about 20 miles a day on it and I always use the PAS to get exercise and it is the best thing for the knee. I tell people it makes getting exercise fun! I had some problems the first 300 miles and had to use their online warranty service and I had no problems and everything went smooth I got the parts I needed within 10 day! so I am very happy with the Zebra Step-thru and I do think it is the coolest step-thru I have ever seen! Also, I just put some white wall street tire on it that look ride and go over bumps so much better than the stock Kenda tires. yes, I also have a stem riser and a adjustable stem, plus handle bars with a 90mm rise. also have a Kinekt Bike Suspension Seatpost with a cloud 9 seat so it is set up for cruising and comfort! And lots more upgrades! Just wanted to give my one-year update.

You don't know how much help You are !!! I was struggling over and over trying to put the battery back in place. I saw how You did it with the wheel straight in line. I tried it and Boom !! The battery went right in !!! Thanks Tim - - ->>>>>
@@TinkeringTurtle Isn't it though - -hahaha. How's Your snow ? Gone yet ? I did an 8 mile shakedown ride on the Zebra today. Soooo many adjustments to get it comfortable like My Cruiser.
Nice, I’m glad you got a ride in. The snow here is gone and the weather is actually pretty nice…mid 50’s to low 60’s. Unfortunately my wife got a sinus cold about two weeks ago, and even though we stay apart from each other while sick…I came down with it about a week ago. She is feeling better, but I am still pretty sick. It sucks because this is good riding weather!
@@TinkeringTurtle I so feel Your pain. Four weeks ago for almost three weeks I was in bed battling pneumonia ! I didn't eat for almost 4 days. No other symptoms except nonstop phlegm from the chest. My cardo fitness is really lagging right now. I was doing 50 + mile rides on the Cruiser. Soon I will test this Zebra for some range rides. You get well and stay safe. Are You still selling that battery prong cover for the Cruisers ?
I recently received my new Himiway zebra and was thankful for your video in helping to assemble it. I also bought the front basket from Himiway for my zebra and wondered if you have a video showing how to install it? Thank you for your videos. They are, by far, the most helpful with my bike.
I found a little gem after a couple months of riding my Zebra. A USB port for my cell phone. Located at the bottom edge of the screen. Look for a black rubber dust cover. Check all nuts and bolts after each ride in the beginning. they will loosen. I lost a few. I have put my bike through its paces in really rough terrain. Out in the Rocky Mountains of Idaho. It took it all with out breaking a sweat. Absolutely love this bike. Almost 900 miles and 15lbs lighter. I throw my fishing tackle in my saddle bag on the side of the rack along with gear to make coffee and head out. Gone for all day. Your in for a treat my friend?
So glad you did this review we have just decided to replace our Rads and with all the new releases lately I had not really thought about the Zebra for a while. Really looking forward to a real world range test and your riding experiences, as well as the display setup and advanced settings. Just saw that they now have now an updated display optional display, would really be interested in seeing how that compares and if it has the same settings and options as the original. Like you, waiting for the thaw!!
Thank you. I am uploading the second Zebra video now, should be live tomorrow (Basic Adjustments prior to first ride). I am not certain when I will be able to get it out and put enough miles on it to develop a good review. But I can say I am impressed with the build quality so far. I am chomping at the bit to get it out and put it thru its paces….come on spring!
You do an excellent job on your videos. I have seen a lot of videos where they just slice open the boxes and strew all the packing material all over. You do it right. And you explain as you go. I just wonder are or were you a teacher? Again thanks for what you do.
I appreciate the comment, it’s my pleasure! No, I haven’t been a teacher or instructor. I simply try to explain things so that anyone can feel comfortable doing these steps. Most seem to appreciate it. Thanks again!
The motor is also a lot easier to work on because it comes apart on the disc brake side and the wires come out the disc brake side between the hub and the frame and is a much better design, I also already put an 11-28T cassette and that gives you plenty of gear for no gosht peddling and the wires are not in your way! Can't wait to see what you do to your Zebra step- thru Because I really like mine!
I can’t wait until the snow goes away! I want to get this bike out there. I do love that the motor cable doesn’t go thru the center of the axle. This bike looks really well built.
It can be loud until you bed in the brakes. If it persists after a couple good rides, then pull the pads and clean them with isopropyl alcohol and re-install them. (clean the rotor too)
We have a himiway cruiser with 70 miles on it that is making a grinding noise and the rear tire spins for a few rotations very slowly then stops. Any ideas?
I know this sounds strange, but unplug the motor and plug it back in to make sure it is fully seated. If that doesn’t work then reach out to support for troubleshooting tips and directions. Good luck!
I guess I could have. But for the minimal amount of time it was “unstable”, I didn’t feel the need. Once the front wheel was on I really didn’t need to stabilize it.
@@TinkeringTurtle fair point … although the movers blanket helped I always try not to set the weight of the bike on the front forks. Enjoy your reviews.
I just got my zebra two days ago, from the first time till now the turtle doesn't work. It work only second when i start riding en then i must use the pedal. Is it normal or should i contact himiway ? I want to use my turtle without pedal when i'm tired but it doesn't work. Thanks
I am assuming you mean “throttle”. As long as your pedal assist level is set to “1” or above your throttle should work. If your pedal assist level is set to “0”, then your throttle is disabled. If this isn’t the case then I would contact support. I hope this helps!
@@TinkeringTurtle thanks for your fast answers. I have tried it from pedal assist 1 till 5 and this doesn't work too. That work only first time in second en then i must use my pedal, i don't know that it is set up by the winkel or that is not normal. I took this bike from the winkel which set up the bike too. I should send email to them, thanks for a help brother.

is this bike UL approved for this battery system? This will be becoming an issue for your home insurance policy in future and more.
Great question to ask Himiway support.
Is there a Ul logo on the Battery?
@owenoiffer I really do think regulatory or testing questions should be sent to Himiway directly.

I definitely should have gotten that one instead of the magicycle.
I think at this point, considering how you feel about your bike, I wonder if you shouldn’t sell it and get a different one…?
