    Hi, could you explain to me, why at 2:33. you plug in both endings of the cable on one side of the tester? I think you should plug in one side of the cable in one side of the tester and the other side of the cable into the other side of the tester? Best regards and sry for my English ..

      @robscott6794 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I can easily explain that. It was a mistake :P You were the first one to spot it!. It should have been plugged from Type A at top to Type C on the bottom. The outcome would be the same however, so I'm not too worried.

      Yup, still using the Xsoldering Pro station although for this I used a different station the GVM-H3 with Nano Iron due to the ridiculously small size of the leads I was soldering.

    So happy to find this video. I finally replaced the last Sonos speaker that required this old bridge, so I thought it would be fun to teardown. I'm a complete novice, so this video was really useful to help me identify and understand all the components. Interesting, but not surprising, but my model's flash storage is from Macronix. The comments on the antennae was also appreciated. I could see that one was connected with traces, but I had no clue what they were meant for. Thanks again!

      @@fredflintstone2077 Sure, I get that, however if someone is cynical enough to believe that I've not actually repaired this, then they're probably not going to be swayed from their opinion by a video ending showing it working. They'd probably just suggest that I was showing the other unit of the pair.

    I have the wharfedale dx-2 package, the subwoofer, stopped working, no power on LED, the board is WH-S10E (power), cables, switch and fuse ok to main board, I moved the untit the other day and LED came back on but nothing again now, checked FETs no shorts, and switching chip hasn't blown, no obvious signs of any chips or caps blown, no discolouration either.....could be a dry joint but can't see evicence of what would be a stereotypical dry joint, looking at the output it seems to suggest MUTE, 127v, G and +27V, is this correct, can put it back in situ and test, if you have any pointers, would appreciate the help.

    I'm impressed your work and this video. My laptop fell with the dongle in it. Dongle side hit the ground. After that I had to put downward pressure on the dongle to make it work. I felt I lacked the practice and the equipment to do what you've done. But since mine wasn't severely damaged, I saw another video where you can remove the electronics and bake it in an oven. I tried 400 F for 8 minutes. The performance seems fine now. @the equalizer I'd be curious about your thoughts on this method. Thanks again for a great video.

    • @the_equalizor
      @the_equalizor ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Patrick, yes this could make sense. Lead free solder is quite brittle so I suspect you just broke some connections when the dongle got damaged. By putting it in the oven you melted the solder back into place I guess. Either way, good on you :) saves it from landfill.

    This Power Supply is always on, it always outputs 12V and it should always be able to deliver 25Amps. The Power-Button just controls the Mainboard through the smaller connector going to the mainboard. The reason, you see the voltage drop at 2-3A load is you less than ideal connection. I am surprised that you own an electronic load and did not realize that.
