Why I'm Raising my American son in the Philippines | Expat kids going to School Abroad
Why am I raising my American son in the Philippines instead of the U.S.? In this video, I break down the cultural, educational, and family values that influenced my decision.
The Western world promotes individualism, materialism, and a breakdown of the family unit, while the Philippines offers a strong community, respect for elders, and a simpler yet fulfilling lifestyle. But is it really the best choice?
I'll share real-life experiences of raising a child here, including the differences in schools, parenting styles, and social environments-and why I believe this is the best path for my son’s future.

I beg to disagree. We have public hospitals and welfare programs for the poor.
I wish I played catch with my son more.... But unfortunately I was stuck in traffic because of shitty infrastructure.
Fyi: we have health centers here in the Philippines.
Age gap is not a problem in the Philippines provided that both sides are happy.
sir dont be generalise all in the philippines not all like that 😮😮😮
Having an Asian wife is analogous to having an Asian car. American women are like American car that consumes more fuel .
Timely topic to talk about. Be safe
❤❤❤❤
Excuse me i think you are wrong the judgement for our country There is another option There is a health care here even you dont have money There is a local health care in here maybe if where you are living right now maybe its a remote area might be i will agree with you
Your mom is 100% correct. The liberal narrative of straight white men as collectively guilty for colonization development harms has been played out. Good job mom!
Lol
Are the roosters included in your rent or do you pay extra?
The industrial matrix conditions people into consumer debt and soft comforts, keeping them distracted and detached from real life. Many end up living through screens instead of creating their own experiences. I chose a different path.
Thats right sir life is too short so we need to enjoy and relax… stay safe and GOD bless🙏❤️
Talk about pissing your money out the window LOL
@@bipolarpunt5721 Strange how some people think providing stability for their kids is a bad investment.
One of the best decisions you have ever made. There is no need for you to pay for the rent once it is done.
Captain, It so nice to watch somebody like you whose videos are factual and educational. Thanks.
@@antoniorivera905 Glad you appreciate them! Thanks!
After quitting a trucking company to go back to the Philippines, are able to hire on again if you want to go back to USA? Or do you need to find a different company?
@@pauljames5706 It depends on the company, usually they will rehire you- if your profitable and have a good safety record. If not or one chooses to, you can go to a new company. Rinse and repeat.
Good decision. He will never be bullied and his problem only will be how to manage the attention he will be getting 😂
People in my family were not the type to get "bullied" wherever culture or country they went to school in.
It's wokeism. We are NOT YET woke here. Thanks God it is being fixed in the US right now
Of course, being homeless anywhere is a curse. In the Philippines, the advantage is the absence of the brutal winter.
philippines is quite generous with medication you can ask barangay health centers if they have the medicine you need and they will give it for free also ph have a state owned healthcare insurance but when it comes to operation it's a very different story.
❤
Good evening Captain Trucker. It's really sad if you leave your parents on a Nursing Homes when you're making good money. We are not sure if the staffs of that Nursing Homes are treating our parents good or bad.
As Confucius say : 'Whether you are rich or poor, it's nice to have a few bucks'.
My wife is from an island in Northen Samar. The local clinic is pretty useless with no equipment. If you get sick they rush you to Cebu or Manila if you have money. If you don't have the money you will die if it is serious. It is the truth.
Advantages being you have a mix blood her in the Philippines. Especially, good characters and nice looking, you are the top to join some contest and other activities in the school also your area to. And hu knows one of the talents discover your son, become being fame her Philippines in the future. Like other many celebrities her in the Philippines😊
IF YOU RAISE YOUR SON IN THE US, BE READY FOR THE EVIL DEMOCRATS AND WOKE FOOLS TO TURN YOUR SON INTO YOUR DAUGHTER, TO BE A DRUG ADDICT AND TO BE A COMMUNIST.
I try not to invest to much time watching cable news everyday.
I like your analogies and analyses between two educational systems. Personally, I think Philippine education teaches the kid how to understand simple stuff first then teachers go to complex and complicated stuff. It’s easier to follow. I feel like the teachers in the US will throw the students books and other resources leaving the student to find ways or help from parents and others to understand concepts on hand. It all depends too on how the student if able to grasp the concepts easily and fast regardless of which among the two systems the student is exposed to growing up. The kid or child must have built strong critical thinking at young age to be able to survive in both educational systems with flying colors.
Take care your son he will be great asset to basketball player and more free tuituon when he to college. Take good care od your kids they are your jewel in life
You just have to live your life for you, and not live for others. It's just a human nature. The devil deceived the world. In USA women becoming more men. Not all.
We have learned a lot from the Chinese, South Koreans, and Japanese. We should emulate them instead of Americans.
The best way is to be like China, Japan, and South Korea. Open large investments and manufacturing in our PEZA economic zones. But America is not doing it. Instead of sending sending large-scale investors, it keeps on sending TH-camrs and TikTokers.
If you need complain do not go there.
I totally understand this giy talking ..Its theysame here in Austria -Europe.. Even thier family are having no time each other ,some of family like nomore time to see each other..Just work, sleep ate..and same routine..But the Filipino living happily together and happy see each other.
Well done. Keep safe.
I dont believe receiving $1,000.-in the philippines can not give you a financial freedom.
OK stay their in your country sir coz your life their is comfortable don't come to our poor country.but still we love our country.
That's not really the point of the message. But I understand what you're saying.
You have a son with extra ordinary abilities. Guide him a best education you can find here, your obligation remember your child had this A's abilities.
Right decision Captain ❤❤❤. God Bless
Hello 👋
If you look at the domestic helpers working at the palace in the middle east the princess and princesses learn human values like "Pakikipagkapwa", Respecting everyone especially the old.

Welcome to the Philippines Captain Trucker ! Mabuhay !
Salamat!
But many achievers are in the Public School especially in subject in math and English , teaching is more profound, and public teachers has enough experiences teaching in private before working in public schools and that’s why teachers in public schools are more experienced
Technical skills maybe is good in USA, but in Philippines..technical teaching can only be find in private schools. However, the good thing in Philippines curriculum even in government schools is that SKA are incorporated in all subjects! This values are brought with them until they work, harworker, patient, trustworthy etc..!
Thank You for telling the real life situation, not just in the Philippines, but the real world. Being frugal no matter how small your income, later on it pays to live with in the budget. Life becomes easier in the long run. forget about luxuries,. it"s good to see you in the Philippines my friend. Keep up the good work. God will Bless Your Good Thinking ! Filipinos are good people like you also !
@@fernandomina8469 Thank you to for your kind message.
Btw So Many Pilipino teachers were in America and in some other foreign countries.Even in the Middle East 🌍🇵🇭🙏🏻✨✨✨

I’m late from your video and it’s a good topic. In reality in my assessments, Americas situation in a long run ends in a sad state as it’s run by Corporate America. In the early stage Americans were unaware how almost a pure capitalist system that you’re valued with how high is your credit. Whereas in other poorer nations (e.g.1) people are careful being trap in a debt as it’s not easy to pay credits, all your money goes to it nothing more for your valued life. (2) people won’t take the risks into credit if theres no assurance in how to pay (3) it’s shameful among friends, families and relatives that you’re buried into debts because of whims and you’ll never get sympathy from them. You borrowed for a good cause is honorable like sending your kids to higher education and they see a better future. (4) majority of the Filipino oriented culture is helping one another to raise the values in life, helping each other even sending to schools as no. 1 priority (5) upon graduation/ jobs you’re not thrown out in the house as not ready for independent. Mostly you’re considered independent if you can afford to pay your own apartment/ condo, feed yourself and most of all supporting your parents in their lives. As a Family Oriented system The values/ gratitude in raising you ( your roots) is a success of one is a success of all. (6) Lastly credit is slavery. Simple life but free from loads of credit are happy people even with simple food on the table. Because tomorrow Typhoon might come and you’re not prepared.
Some teachers in ph are now hiried in the USA. So american kids are teaching by filipino teachers now a days.
