  • In this video, I’m excited to share why I decided to move to the Philippines in my early 40s, after years of traveling back and forth. Join me as I take you through the journey, from leaving Daly City to touching down in Manila, and why this country feels like home. I'll share insights about the challenges and joys of moving here, and how being a father to a Filipino child influenced my decision. We’ll dive into the pros and cons of expat life and why options and preparation are key for anyone considering this move. Plus, a glimpse of my plans for the future here with my son and our ongoing house project! Stay tuned for more adventures and insights.
Thanks for watching, and don’t forget to subscribe to join me on this journey!

Thanks for the beginnings of a more intimate glimpse into your relationship with the Philippines. I was drawn to you and your love for the Philippines mainly because you're the kind of person who approaches things philosophically (that is, with an emphasis on what's ethical and/or moral) and also because, in keeping with that proclivity, you strive to assess things from what we call the 30,000 feet or birds' eye view. What you're offering here, however, is intimate. I would argue that it takes more courage to provide that than it does to speculate, ruminate, or pontificate. Sure, give a kid a camera and they'll go play by play all day long without a second thought, but for someone of your makeup, experience, and fundamental circumspection, no, this is perhaps more difficult than people realize. Just know that you are seen and appreciated.

I had to re-read that last word, pontificate. It sure did sound like fornicate, (in my Filipino head). We do mix up the "f"s and the "P"s regularly in our accent/pronounciation just as easily as "he" or "she".

@@thomasraywood679 @samohtsolacad229 Sometimes one could do that pontificating vibe intentionally as a point of irony... Because people blast their opinions on social media as if it's the only truth and authority, especially if it gets views and traction... Some of it I'll do to spark conversations. Think the subscribers and returning viewers understand this as part of the fun and sometimes humourous exploratory exchanges.

The Megaworld township, the Esplanade linear park, it's regarded as the country's longest, the Gigantes Island is a popular island hopping destination located NE of Iloilo City. @@phoenix5054 You dont understand GDP. South Korea was considered a developing country until the 1960s. Due to far-reaching economic reforms (referred to as the Miracle of the Hangang River), the country’s economy entered a period of rapid growth (about an annual 10% growth for over 30 years). Christianity is the basis of core values, beliefs, attitude, lifestyle, culture of Filipinos. As long as Christian values and beliefs are intact in society the general population tend to be God-fearing/Godly, family-oriented, kind, helpful, respectful, forgiving, modest, peaceful, resilient, optimistic, happy.
I believe the majority of Filipinos will always adhere to Christianity. One of the strongest, if not the strongest, Christian nations in the world. Ofc, there are downsides to being religious, too. America losing its Christian values, hence, the cultural and societal decay.
