Hi Liz, thanks for watching! Which piece are you referring to? I suspect the first coral piece, the pendant? I had the same initial thought about this one, but in the hand the dimensions don’t seem quite right for an earring. Would love to know your thoughts!❤️

I think Liz you may be right because the drops on both coral pieces look like they should hang freely as on an earring. They look the size of an earring. Thank you Jen for all your in-depth research and time you spend putting this together.

Ok, tried it with both amber and plastic, rubbed 20 seconds on wool and got some attraction to both from cat hair. No attraction for little bits of paper napkin. Rubbed 30 seconds and the attraction to amber was stronger. I think using blacklight and looking for a milky iridescence 🌌 works easiest and best to identify amber.

Hello Mike, thanks for watching & commenting. I’m genuinely curious to understand the basis of your opinion on age, do you think I misread the marks?

@@sundaebaubles have a good look at the hallmark it looks like a mid 20th century cast brooch the word Iona would never be on a Georgian brooch it looks very like a brooch made by the Iona jeweller John Hart or the likes no offence meant :0)

@@sundaebaublesforgot to say it’s a misconception that brooches that have long Barrel joints are antique I was using these joints in the mid 70,s Also your brooch has a modern damaged rollover catch which is indicative of these type of brooches :0)

Hi! I used the brush & soapy solution to clean the diamond. In order to really focus on the diamond I like to use an eyeliner brush, or fine pointed paintbrush.
