      @@sundaebaubles I don't have any really good stories though! I just buy costume jewelry I like at estate sales...would it be ok to share 2 or 3 of my favorite costume pieces?

      @sundaebaubles  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AntiqueAgenda Absolutely! There's a story behind how you choose your favourites and wear them, and of course the makers and period they are from too!

    😊 Very nice, thank you. Of course she has good taste - she's from Michigan 😄. And of course she moved to Florida, she's from ... 🙄😄.

    What a sweet story about the couple plus we got to learn something too! Do you use faux and synthetic interchangeably?

    • @sundaebaubles
      @sundaebaubles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question, Peg! Many people (and industries) use these terms interchangeably.
      When it comes to gemstones, a synthetic is usually created to emulate the original properties and ‘chemical makeup of the stone as closely as possible. ‘Faux’ is an imitation made to resemble the original, but the composition is generally very different.
      It’s definitely a subtlety in terminology; an example would be a blue glass stone made to look like a sapphire (a ‘faux’ sapphire), compared to a synthetic lab created sapphire which retains the same makeup and hardness of a natural sapphire.
