Hey Daan, ik heb een vraagje: bij welke chirurg/kliniek heb jij de mastectomie laten doen?
GenderClinic in Bosch en Duin
@ weet je nog toevallig bij welke chirurg?
@lucasblancke volgens mij dr Bouman
When I was around 8-9 I had one the was gray and named her gray cloud. She turned out to be very smart, I’d let her out to run around the house and when she had enough, she would go back to the cage and hit the door with her foot, and close it. It was always fun to watch her put herself to bed 😂
Hate to say it, but my grandfather use to say that your hair is just slipping from your head to your face and chest. What to say thank you for putting out your videos, they do help. I’m 50 and want to go through my change and live my life as me and not the person I was born, but for me it’s overwhelming to think about, so truly thank you
I’m 50 and going to start my transition. I always wanted to wait to make sure it’s what I wanted
thank you so much random stranger on the internet for giving me a glimpse of hope !!
Hi Daan. It's been a while. I had to step away from trans related social media for my mental health and cause I was feeling so restless and unable to move forward. I've since gotten a gender dysphoria diagnosis and have a blood test the day after tomorrow to have it tested for my endocrinologyist appointment. I hope to start testosterone therapy early 2025. It's helpful to hear your experience and your reflections on the pressures you felt. Thankyou for sharing... I am grateful and will try to recognise what I really need vs expectations and pressures. As for hair - I am going to request a prescription of oral minoxidil alongside testosterone therapy and apparently this keeps the hair follicles with good blood flow and very minorly can lower blood pressure too. It helps with body and facial hair growth too, but doesn't interfere with dht levels. There's no shame in wanting to and using something to maintain your hair. Expecially since you've transitioned later in life. Much love to you, and glad to see you still being so true to yourself. We both deserve to transition in the ways that feel comfortable and empowering for ourselves, and look forward to catching up on more of your videos. Your furry friends are delightful! ❤ Now, finally to get started on my own journey! 🎉 P.s. Ive found migraine support with Nortriptyline (10mg/day) if that helps. It also relieved a lot of my chronic shoulder pain too alongside shoulder focused yoga (yoga with adrienne) 😊
Like you, I'm transitioned later in life . I've been wearing men's shoes for years. I found out what size I would wear, then went shopping in the Men's department. If you don't like what the sales people show you, let them know. Ultimately, buy what makes YOU happy - you have choices. Hang in there - it a brave new world!
Awesome!
Life is about profit and loss. We are constantly changing and learning, and the important thing in that evolution is to be true to your principles. thank you for sharing your thoughts.
I'm sorry to hear you've had a crap week. Here's hoping next week is better. And congratulations on the guinea pigs! If they're too wiggly while you're trying to trim their nails, you can take a section of hardware mesh (maybe something with 0.5cm square holes), staple it to a wood frame, and let the guinea pigs stand/grab that. Their nails will poke through the holes, and you can trim them that way. This works best with two people or so I'm told, so your mileage may vary.
You're a beautiful person!
What a good vlog (again). It's great to hear you talk open about your feelings. i think your channel will help trans people a lot.
I don’t have any doubts, but the US is going to have Trump as President again starting next year and I’m terrified what he will do to Transgender people.
What's this person supposed to do for you?
Hello from Minnesota Daan! Hello piggies! 😊 When you talked about having top surgery fairly soon after starting T, my experience was opposite, I had to wait a few years before my top surgery after starting T, and it wasn't pleasant at all for my well being. I was growing black wiry chest hair around the colored parts (I don't know how censorship works on here, but I'm sure you get what I mean) and they started... deflating? Drooping and going flat while being covered with chest hair. I'm mentioning this for anyone of course, and it's not always what happens either; I have PCOS and was pretty hairy to begin with. Fat redistribution was the main factor of the droopy part I think? The first year of not wearing binder or other upper garments is absolutely and exquisite experience! Sometimes in the back of my mind I would think "OH NO! I for got my b r a!" Then realize I didn't have to worry about that any more. The wind through just a tee shirt in summer, not sweating so much in the summer with one of those things on was marvelous to me. The only thing they kind of pushed for me to do was a hysto, but I already wanted one anyways so it was a non-issue for me. I have many health conditions and didn't want to pass on my genetics to another human. I figure there's so many kids that need homes/up for adoption out there that if I decide I want kids, I can adopt. No one should have a hysto if they don't want to! I don't like that they still think (at least here in the US until this election went through) that any trans man should automatically get a hysto. Not their decision, it's your own decision 👍✨ Back to Teddy and Roxy, do you ever go outside and get them fresh grass from outside? You'll hear squeals of joy that (at least for me) made me laugh at how cute their sounds are! And for the mats you got for the bottom of the cage, make sure you tape the middle so things don't leak underneath under the edges onto the floor. 👍 They 'wee' quite a bit more than they look like they would! 18:15 "RUN TEDDY!" "I *am* running Roxy!" 🤣 Really nice cage you've made for them ☺ Lovely to see the bird feeder fence again! What a wonderful idea, might talk my friend into trying that! Daylight savings time here too, it gets dark around 4:30pm where I am now, and I'm a night owl so sometimes I don't see daylight at all if I take my afternoon nap! How many other countries use DST? I thought the US was the only ones because it's such a ridiculous idea lol Stay well, and thank you for sharing your thoughts and your day with us 😊
Part of what l am hearing is that the psychological preparation needs to begin when the thought is new and needs to include behaviors to life and coping skills in general. Many people have ambivalent reactions to decision making ; to having "buyer's regret" ; projections upon and anxiety over authority figures which includes doctors and surgeons. Second guessing ourselves. But you are certainly right that each individual possesses an acceptance arc to any change let alone the concept that my inner thoughts that my physical body is incorrect. Daan, for a man of your age you have plenty of hair on your head yet. You just never expected to have vampire widow's peak hairline as a man. You look wonderful in that color hoodie. First thing l noticed. You are a kind, gentle and a person with a charming reluctance and yet you comfortably share your with each episode. You love of nature, your plants, your garden, the bird houses, the guinea pigs, how you film the land you walk and run amongst, is very tangible in each vlog. All animals are sensitive to having their paws (feet) touched. Also, to being held. You need to do both in between grooming sessions. Give them treats and eventually they will know that a cuddle with you is a good experience. Build familiarity. ❤
I'm a gay guy and you're a very good looking guy. I've never dated or been with a trans guy but I'm curious now lol
Makes total sense❤ My shoulder is my indicator when I am holding on to something ❤ praying for you to release what is hanging on ❤
You have the absolute right to question all the decisions you make. You do look amazing and I think top surgery was the right thing to do.😊
I needed to hear this today - thank you
Understand the change even if you like it being something to stop and think about. Have you considered if it’s neurodivergence. There’s a trait for a need to deal with change differently than neurotypical people. Even the time change let alone body change is a lot to deal with. Take care.
Ahhh the detransitioning!!! When I first came out I couldnt watch those. I avioded them and I can only watch them if Jamie Raines will be commenting on it 😂 I didnt want any doubt in my mind. I wanted to go through and process it all on my own. Because it was about me and no one else. The loss of my singing voice was the worst!!! 2 years on T yesterday!!! But voice is still not masc. Thanks for the insight into the loss and grieving during surgeries Daan. That is something to think about and prepare for. My surgery I hope, will be this year. Cross fingers I knew that package was going to be for the piggies!!!! LOL. Wow, it is a lot of work. But that will keep them very healthy. Do you do that every day?
So you essentially forced yourself into an echo chamber and didn't want to review all your options? Interesting...
@@Jeremy-wp4yh Glad you think so

Man I really enjoy watching your videos. Those piggies are awesome lol. Looking forward to the day they come running to you excited to see their human. Looking good my friend.
You got the Guinea Pigs !!! <3
The struggle is real regarding bookshelf space!
Hello, Daan, l am seeing this 6 months after your original posting. You are a quiet, private person. Not an exhibitionist posting click bait or thirst trap photos of yourself. And we who follow you do not expect you to. Everything you do has a purpose and a well thought out reason. You are maturing into a kind, mature, gentle human being. Masculine but understated about it. However, l for one am impressed with your chest. Cannot wait for both new potatoes and longer chest hairs. Here's to a bumper crop of both! The suburban farmer.😊❤
So handsome, with a lovely voice, too. xxx
🙏🙏🙏❤❤
I think that rumbling is their purr, at least what I remember from my friends piggies. That's what they do when they talk to each other, or you rub their butts and pet them too 🥰 I loved listening to them eat 'munch munch munch munch'! Odd thought from me to you and the internet, they know more languages than I do! lol I love that look you get, the "new pets" look! I still get that and I've had my cat for around 15 years now, I still get "mushy face" when I look at him sleeping or being cute 😁 There are so many beautiful places you show to walk and drive there! I'm glad you show snippets for us. I'm still surprised how much where I live and where you are look alike. I think your winter may be less severe than mine though. I live next to lake Superior in the US. It can get brutal! 18 days is a bit odd I agree. I do every 14 days, .06mL testosterone cipionate. Yours looks like a more well-rounded therapy, different kinds in it instead of just one. Thank you for the wonderful video! Of course I watched all the way though, so many different things like your plants, piggies, and general daily things like walks food prep. I have to say, your kitchen is wonderful, and you eat WAY more healthy than I do 🤫😁I know that's one of the things I need to work on though. Over here in the states it seems like everything has chemicals in it or on it. I'll send out a question for the fun of it on that note, do you have organic foods, heirloom foods, regulations on salt and sugar content of processed foods? I know a lot of people I talk to from overseas have way better food rules than we do here. I hope you have a great day 👋
Is it me or is the guinea pigs gage getting bigger and bigger in every vlog? One question. Do you change the clocks in the fall and spring? We just turned the clocks back one hour this weekend.
Thank you for sharing your joy today Daan. I always look forward to your videos ❤ being down in Australia after growing up in the states, I can say that I miss the fall during this season. Halloween isn't celebrated much here either. It's definitely starting to be a thing but not like it is in the states. But without it being fall, I'm kind of ok with it not being highly celebrated here. Your little piggies are really coming out if their shell and that's a testament to your patience and kindness. Again, thank you for sharing. What a great way to start my week ❤
🥰
You really are such a sweet and loving man😊
I love your videos because you are such a sweet and kind person and it comes through in each of your videos. Your little guineas just prove to us you have a tender heart for all living things. ❤❤ What's there not to like about such a wonderful character trait? I live in 🇨🇦 and of course, Halloween is celebrated in a very big way. Oddly enough, I never really enjoyed celebrating it, even as a child. It just seemed odd to me going door to door to collect candy from people, most of who you didn't actually even know! Anyway, as a teacher of 5, 6, and 7 year olds, I certainly pretended I enjoyed the holiday for their sakes. ❤ Yes, I enjoy the Autumn too. The colour of the fall leaves is fabulous in most parts of Canada although the more northerly parts really only get yellow and gold leaves (like the part of the country I grew up in). Now, I live where Autumn brings a riot of breathtaking colours. What is their not to like about hiking through the woods on an Autumn day? It is so refreshing yo our mind and body. Thank you for a lovely visit with you this morning. My coffee is done, the sunshine is brilliant and the day is calling me outside! 🍂🍁 🌞
Thanks for sharing! Guinea pigs are great! I have four indoor piggies. Hope they settle in soon and become more confident.
😂😂😂
It must be heel gezellig to have those two little friends with you in your cosy apartment 🥰
Happy Halloween 🎃 🤪!! Best of luck with your Gps.😊
I was like GPS? What is wrong with my GPS? But then I realised 😂😂😂. Thanks!
You are a charming man. I find when I watch you before bedtime you give me great peace. Thank you and enjoy your autumn break.
...So nice to (partly) see your new buddies, leave them to discover and getting to know you and they will come around when they are ready...meanwhile, you can practice apartment wide cord + plug prevention!🧡😀
Hopefully they wil be less camera shy in the future :) and yes, cord/plug prevention is a thing now 😅
You are a Dad now. I am happy for you Daan. Enjoy your break. Have as much fun as possible.
A guinea pig dad 😁. Thanks!
I am so happy for you Daan!!! They're so adorable and will bring you so much joy. Good on ya for adopting these little ones. I'm genuinely thrilled for you ☺️
Thanks :)
I would say you don't need bottom surgery. You don't need it. One day you might someone amazing and decide you want to have a child. At least freeze your eggs. As a dude that loves the cis-Male form and the trans-man form what's most important being able to start a family. It's a human characteristic to want a piece of the person to live on after all is said and done. You'll never regret choosing the choice that allows you the most optimal outcome. You'll never feel complete, I know this way to well.
I love guinea pigs. I had some a very long time ago and they are the cutest. I have two cats. One meows very loud and they chase each other. I wonder if the guinea pigs do the zoomies like my cats?? They'll learn to trust you eventually as long as you dont scare them too much. Stay happy!!!
They definitely have zoomies! They were chasing each other a few moments ago (playfully), it was so fun to watch :)
Aw, I loved this video, so sweet! How kind of you to pick the one Guinea pig that others didn't choose. They are adorable. Also, I noticed you turned the sewing machine around for left-handed use (I am also left handed). Hope you start feeling better during your break. 💟💜
AWWW! 😍So adorable! They'll love you once they get used to you, and once you get to pet their butts and listen to them purr, that's just awesome! They get excited and squeak for snacks/treats and dinner time too🥰 I kind of guessed it might be a pet of some sort, but I was only 60% sure of my guess ☺ Do you get fall allergies instead of a cold maybe? For me the only difference is itchy eyes. If they itch: allergies. If not: cold or some sort of virus. But that's just my personal experiences. The road you were driving down, no paint lines, trees on each side; what a wonderful drive! I could watch that all day! I love rain, so that added to the happiness of the video along with those cute little eyes peeking out to see their new home! And the happiness in your heart shows as well, happy new fur babies! You have been assimilated into the world of pets, all are welcome! lol 😁 Two black hearts for two black guinea pigs! 🖤🖤 One growing heart for you saving them and taking them in 💗 My friend's piggies loved carrots if that's an option you'd want to consider, they loved munching on them! Thank you for sharing them with us 👍☺
I tried and they absolutely loved carrot 🥕 😁
