With the new 60 day visa on arrival and the ability to extend for another thirty days plus simply by leavening the country and returning you can start the process all over. As of this month Thai Immigration are not stopping people from doing multiple visa runs.

1. under this visa, can one stay in thailand for continuous 5 years by extending every year and not exiting the country? 2. can one add dependant under the 5 years privilege card?

Thailand is not the place to retire anymore. Great to visit or live and work there, but not for retirees. Starting 1 Jan 2024 Thailand now taxes the income of retired Expats (including Pensions - you are wrong - it is income). If you live in Thailand 180 days or more in a year, you are liable to pay taxes on income brought into Thailand, while all the other countries in SEAsia do not tax Expat's money brought into their country. The other matter is 'proving' that the 800+K Baht you brought into Thailand is not income but savings - well good luck doing that - Thailand has not stated how and what they will accept as proof. Hopefully Thailand will change their mind, but as it stands now, Expats have been told to pay income taxes on the income money they brought to Thailand from 1 Jan 2024 onwards. Thailand also wants to implement worldwide taxation, so even if you dont remit the income to Thailand they want to tax it . No matter how good their Visas are or the country is - for retired Expats Thailand is not the best option anymore (we are leaving).

If you do not live near Bangkok and play golf, O visa all the way. Both need 90 day reporting and both need annual extensions. The new elite pricing is crazy.

Thailand is moving to worldwide taxation from 2025, and has implemented tax on all money remitted in 2024 as a transitional step. This visa is now worthless. You get the nightmare of entering a third world tax system, and getting tax on up to 35% of what you earn anywhere in the world whilst a tourist .….. and all this for US$25,000 for 5 year plus substantial accounting fees …. Look carefully at taxes situation in Thailand before consider coming. Don’t listen to the misinformation about double taxation agreements. You will pay more tax if you come. Most are finding it’s better just to stay home or go to another long stay hub.

Now they have announced worldwide taxation from 2025 there can be no debate. This visa is dead. It seems the remittance tax change in 2024 was just a transitional step to worldwide taxation in 2025. Now it makes no sense whatsoever to buy this visa unless Thailand privilege arranges a tax exemption on foreign fund for it members. Don’t even contemplate paying for this visa or relocating to Thailand until you get solid “independent” tax advice and clearly understand what you’re getting yourself into.

Becareful in dealing with her I spent 600,000baht and only got a visa and none of the other things she promised so sad if you lose your money you have been warned

She says you get all theses things after5 months no thai driver license and when I email her angle I dont get any response so far I have got a visa and that's it and absolutely no helpeven after emails just asking them for help as I said no response from h and h so if you to get what I feel like scammed asi did its your fault

It’s common sense if your over 50 it’s a no brainier Just put 800,000 Thai baht into a Thai bank and leave it there Friends of mine have been on this visa for over 15 years Just report every 90 days it’s easy and cost very little compared to a elite visa Retirement visa is for the rest of your life from 50 onwards if you want to live in Thailand until you die Elite visa only lasts for 5-20 years and the 20 year one is invitation only So the 15 year one is fine unless you live longer The cost of 15 year elite visa is 2,500,000 million baht which is insane If you ever choose to leave Thailand on a retirement visa then just take your 800,000 baht with you if you pay elite fee it’s gone

Thailand now has a long-term visa for 10 years and it's cost is very inexpensive (around $1000). Plus you can even work legally with this visa (you can't work if you have the Elite or Privilege visas). The only requirement is to show you have $80,000 per year income from retirement.

Fast Track is available for "Long Stay" visa holders. Just used it Apr 21 and it was amazing cleared in under 1 minute arriving at 11am.

Because Thailand joined the crs , does that mean all your banking information is sent back to you own country or not. Does it apply to people who stay more than 180 days or are all foreign accounts reported

my wife and I are going to Thailand to check out Hua Hin as a possible place to retire to, do I apply first for a tourist visa Thai embassy in Australia and then the rest of the process in Thailand

So in other words, im going to have to pay american and thai income tax. That sucks to get double taxed in my already low income

I think the issue to many foreigners is that if you have income from outside of Thailand mostly likely this is already taxed in the originating country. But a Thai resident (over 180 days) would still have to go through the tax application process to prove this, e.g.., provide evidence that the income was already taxed, hire the tax accountant, etc. There are costs here and many people may just prefer to exit the country every 6 months. The cost to travel to places like Vietnam/Cambodia may almost be the same anyway then return to Thailand.

I'm always amazed at some of the viewer comments. Hailey only happens to be a certified specialist operating a business under Thai law, but some of the viewers think they have a better understanding than she does. For those who think they know better than Hailey, I wish you all the best in making your decisions. I, for one, will trust the specialist.

Sadly I don't find this video much help at all. I'am not sure how you believe it won't affect expat retirees as the closing of loopholes is looking at rich people bringing in earnings from abroad. I would think many retirees/50+ visa holders supplement their income with house rental in their 'home' country, are hardly super rich and spend all their income in Thailand with local businesses and services, plus bank rolling Thai family members. The rich people who can afford LTR and elite visas get a free get out of jail card and carry on regardless, and the normal retirees get caught in the net. I would think many 50+ visa holders are mulling over their options and many will decide to head for the airport now or when all the hassles of paperwork proof, accounts fees and tax hit.
