    Just received "Not Approved" by the Elite Visa. I had previously obtained an ED Visa through Duke Language School and then attended Kasetsart University for a year and a half. Not sure what to do next?

    I've given up on the EV. Just got approved, not going thru with it. I think the cost is too much now and it's only going to get worse. Thailand is really missing the mark with a better way to stay for those with decent pensions. There a lot of younger retirees with more money than the typical retirees and it's costing them. I would find a two year renewable version far better than a 5 year.

    Oh no, I just got my education visa and I’m looking forward to studying and learning Thai. I was going to consider the elite visa after my year is up. It looks like there is no certainty of approval now. I had a lingering fear this could happen. Thanks for the update.

    Is there a guideline which institutions and language schools can one apply for EV will not be rejected for Elite Visa in the future? What other factors may affect Elite VIsa apply?

    Still awaiting what the cost increase might be. If it isn't too much, I'm in. Otherwise, retirement visa it is. I'll be visiting Chiang Mai in October and may be stopping by!

    Is there a chance that I get rejected for the Elite Visa when I've been using Covid Extensions for the last 2 1/2 years? Never used ED or Volunteer Visa.

    I applied for Elite Visa in April 2023. It’s still pending due to last years ED visa. I studied Thai at a legit school 5 days a week, 2 hours a day for 8 months. Any ideas?

    • @ThailandEliteSpecialist

      “Legit” school is up to the Thai Immigration officer even if you provide evidence of studying. It also depends how you obtained the visa - switching in Thailand or go out to apply, then re-enter with ED.
      Have you received an update from Elite?

      I had a ED visa for the last 15 months. I applied an Elite visa on May, I just get the answer today : " not approved"

      "is up to the Thai immigration" in other words, anyway the wind blows. You will be treated like a second class citizen in Thailand whether you have an elite visa or not, so prepare yourself if you want to be treated like that the rest of your life. Welcome to Thailand!

      @@ThailandEliteSpecialist Finally got an update. My elite application has been refused because of my ED history. They told me to reapply under the 50% price increase and I will definitely get approved. 🤣 Needless to say they won't be getting any money out of me now

    The title is confusing, the video is confusing. what does the Elite visa have to do with an education visa? I assume nothing. If you already have an Elite visa, can't you attend schools in Thailand already??? Why would one need an education visa if they already have an elite visa?

    • @nickybyrne4961
      @nickybyrne4961 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are on or had an education visa and then later apply for an elite, immigration may look unfavourably upon you and suspect that you have abused the edu visa.

    I'm confused. I thought the Elite OR Education visas were different. How are they related here? TY

    • @nb8665

      ED visas are for criminals only. No elite visa for criminals.

    • @ThailandEliteSpecialist
      @ThailandEliteSpecialist  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are very different, but Immigration has become more strict and checking the legitimacy of schools and whether a foreigner actually studied. Many people worked through agencies to get an ED visa that are flexible with how often you attend class. This has been one of the only ways for people under 50 to stay, so they did their best and didn’t foresee how it could impact their Elite visa eligibility.
