- Never travelled from Bangkok to Pattaya? Watch this video and lets travel together to the wonderful Pattaya beach from the Ekkamai Bus Terminal in Bangkok.
Or have you been paying 1400-1600 Baht to travel from Bangkok to Pattaya and want to find a cheaper way? Head to the Ekkamai bus terminal in Bangkok, the bus terminal is 4-5 minutes walk away from the Ekkamai BTS station, making it easily accessible anywhere from Bangkok.
Depending on where you live, you can also head to the Mo Chit Bus terminal, or the Suvarnabhumi Airport and the Don Mueang Airports, these places will also have buses from Bangkok to Pattaya.

Used busses from Ekkamai excellent way to travel. I count the days to when we can do it again.
Yes, the buses is cheap, seats are pretty decent,
if you are a party of 2 or more, a taxi is way more value for money. A taxi is 1200 baht, and saves you 30m-1hr and also, no waiting time, and drops you directly to your destination.

Pal, if you consider Pattaya beach to be amazing, then you need to get about a great deal more. Both Pattaya and Jomtiem beaches are among the most sewage riddled beaches in the area. Local doctors advised me not to swim there over 15+ years ago. If you want nicer beaches, get over to Koh Larn.
Yes I heard bus or van much cheaper, but also takes much longer time to get to Pattaya .

Hey good info, very well made video.. any idea how much will a Bolt sedan cost from pattaya bus stop to walking street? I'll be taking the bus from suvarnabhumi to pattaya bus stop.
from the Pattaya northern bus terminal, it would cost around 100 baht to get to walking street with a bolt taxi. However... i think the bus from suvarnabhumi airport stops at the bus terminal at Jomtien beach, you will have to double check on that at the airport.
@@Thailandto1 Yes you're correct, Suvarnabhumi bus will go to Jomtien. Bolt should be easily available at Jomtien?
@@RG....... IM not sure where the Jomtien bus terminal is, but no worries. I never had to wait too long for a bolt taxi in Pattaya, they are everywhere.

I wouldn't trust any timetable in Thailand, haha, but after 12 at noon, if i remember right, each bus has around a 45 mins interval. If its from Pattaya to Ekkamai from the Pattaya Northern bus terminal, you will have buses as the only option.
On the official website, there is no online ticket sales for this bus company

Pattaya to Ekkamai - 04.30-21.00, Ekkamai to Pattaya 06:00 to 21:00.
As for overnight or not, it depends on you , i think there are enough to see in Pattaya to stay for 2 days.
I like to enjoy the nightlife at night or sit on the beach even past midnight
What do you recommend for getting back to the bus terminal from central Pattaya? Grab another Baht bus?
You would have to interchange 2 different baht bus to do that, both costing 10 baht each. take a baht bus to the end of second road, and then one heading up the north pattaya road.

You can jump on the baht bus, for 50 baht per person, tell the driver you want to head to walking street. Or download the Bolt app and grab the taxi, the taxi trip should be around 100 Baht
You cant jump off mid way to Pattaya, almost everyone will get off the bus at the bus terminal which is the main stop

Earliest Bus from Ekkamai Bus Terminal to Pattaya is 0600 in the morning, Mo Chit Bus Terminal to Pattaya is 0500, more information in the link below

Yes… kind of… i would not go unless its the last option.. its pretty cramped and horrific to use

There is a bus terminal called Mo Chit or Chatuchak Bus terminal that has buses heading to Pattaya, i would take the red airport rail from Don Meaung airport to Bang Sue Grand Station, and then take a taxi

I thought the baht bus was 10 baht ?
From the Bus terminal travelling to nearby Pattaya area it is 50 baht, but normal rides around the city on the streets are 10 Baht.

Its cant be that bad! I'd still rather save the money for some really good food in Pattaya
NOT anymore 119_ baht. its 150 baht now. just been there dec. 25. __to dec. 31. pattaya and the bus travel is ok. and pattaya govt. should allow more foreign ladies as tourist have different taste.. and tourist come to pattaya for entertainment . relaxation. happy memories and not to WORK. or Study.
the govt. of pattaya and thailand should move on SCAMS.. because prices of some bars and resto is not clear. there are padded or additional charges and small time scams. pattaya bar owners and staff should have a seminar by the govt. on customer services. yes. including the ladies of the night. focus on scams and not immigration overstaying as this does not involve directly on tourist.. but SCAMS and rip of has direct impAct. this should be the focus of pattaya govt and thailand.
I remembered it was around 131 Baht for the large bus from Ekkamai to Pattaya, but yea im slowly shifting towards liking Jomtien more, more relaxed and are away from the things you have mentioned.

To my knowledge nobody takes a taxi to Pattaya.

The tourist information center in BoBae market wanted 3900baht for organizing a taxi from here to pattaya then to the airport for my departure.
My ex had a stepdad who was a bangkok taxi driver and he was taking people down there all the time. (12 years ago though)
I prefer to pay a little more to have someone who can stop for a toilet break with a real bathroom 😂
Thats a fair choice if you are willing to spend more on travels 👍

How about you suddenly need to go to toilet during the two and a half hour 😅
There is a very very cramped toilet on the bus, i wouldnt recommend using it unless its your last resort haha

Waste off valuable holiday time, i got the train from Bangkok to this bus station, massive que for bus,only to be told the bext bus was in 2 hours, threw the bus ticket in the bin and grabbed a taxi dropping someone off, 2 hours later after a nap in comfortable taxi was in jomtien, would still have been sweating in disgusting crowded bus stop, and only cost 1500 bahht, i think around 25 quid not bad, all this talk about travelling on the bus, avoid it honestly, you will never get those wasted hours back.
That’s unfortunate, I have taken the bus over 20 times and never had a problem with the buses. What time did you arrive at the terminal?
@Thailandto1 hi around 12.45, the next available bus was at 3pm , there were other ticket sellers but I was advised to go with the main one which everyone was queuing for, if it wasn't so hot I would have tried to see it through ,but it was horrible, I have to accept I prefer to travel in comfort
@@stephenmclean288I see, i think you made the right choice by switching to taxi, but normally the buses are at 20-30 mins intervals. Maybe there was an issue with their service on that day.
