Good tips overall. I would like to add a few of my own.
1- Money exchange at the airport: use the exchange kiosks at the ground floor, they offer better rates than the ones by the luggage pick up area.
2- If you visit more than once a year, get a Rabbit Card for the transport and it can be used in restaurants, coffe shops, etc.
3- Don't use tuk tuks except the free ones provided by hotels.
4- Getting a taxi: ask the driver to use the meter before you get in, if he refuses wait for another taxi. Don't use taxis parked by big hotels, they will not use the meter. You can ask the hotel staff to call a metered taxi if you need one.
5- Don't miss out on street food but skip the salads and pre cut fruits.
    6- Avoid using motobikes, unsafe.
7- Be respectful to the Thai people and their culture.

Which way do you guys think is cheapest change money in home country or use mastercard or visa, normally i get for example 10000 bath on my mastercard pr time, maybe its also a possibility to take cash with me and change them in Thailand
      what y guys think.

@@miketzai9209 No! Do not exchange at home. The rates are much better at Bangkok's main Airport: do the exchange when you land. Some here say that the rate is better on the 1st floor rather than on the floor where you exit with your luggage but I have not found this to be true as of 3 weeks ago.
If I were you then I would exchange a couple of hundred dollars...just more than enough to get to where you are going by local transportation....and tips. It is likely that you will get better rates in the area where you are staying...say Pattaya for example. Even in Pattaya, the rates may vary by as much as one Thai dollar from one local roadside vendor to the next...so you will have to walk around and see what is being offered. The banks offer much lower rates in Thailand than the roadside vendors in their little booths.

For the best rates on exchanging your currency, SuperRich (the Orange colored one) has the best to offer. They have a stall at the lowest level of the airport (same level as the Airport Rail Link trains).

Great advice! I always bring as little as possible in the largest possible near empty suitcase, like a couple of dresses, a couple of shorts and skirts, some shirts and a swimming costume and 2 pairs of shoes. I buy everything else. Clothes and shoes are cheap , cute and available everywhere! Shopping is so much fun in Thailand, at siam square, terminal 21, sampheng lane, chatuchak, and platinum mall.

For currency exchange at the airport which I have never done but at a bank in town they said your US dollars must be in good condition: no stains, no written down from pen or pencil otherwise they couldn’t accepted and you need to present your ID or Passport as well. Every time before I travel to Thailand I would go to my local bank and ask for brand new dollars bills.

Bank of America in the states exchange rate is around a 9% fee (1 US dollar is 37.78 Baht. At BOA i would only get 35 baht). Is that similar to what it is once in the country? Trying to figure out if i should exchange cash at my bank for 9% fee or do it in Thailand? Your answers are much appreciated.

@@colejohnson4823 If you are in need to use Thai Baht right away after you landing and let say arrived at midnight so I don't know a store for money exchange will be opened. For me, I usually had Thai Baht that left over from a previous Thailand trip. I always keep around 5,000-8,000 baht after my vacation and that is more than enough for my next trip to Thailand again for a first few day then I will go to a local bank for money exchange. If I were you and don't know anybody and arrived at late night and have to use taxi or any transportation I would love to have Thai baht with me for sure. However, For the exchange rate that you mention you will get a much better rate at local Thai bank. I looked up at Thai bank website today ( Bangkok Bank) Selling rate is 37.93 Baht if you using big bill like $50 and $100 bill you will get 37.20 Bath. USD $5-$20 you get 36.73 baht. USD $1-$2 you get 36.38 baht. In order to get most of a value of exchange, using a $50-$100 bill is the best. I always use $100 bill for exchange. Hope this helped and have a safe trip.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE EXACT AMOUNT OF THAI BAHTS WHEN YOU TAKE THE TUK TUK AFTER ASKING THE PRICE FOR THE JOURNEY. DO NOT GIVE BIGGER NOTES LIKE 500 OR 1000 BATHS. THE TUK TUK MOSTLY THOSE WHO ARE GREEDY WILL JUST LEAVE YOU WITHOUT ANY CHANGE AND WILL SPEED AWAY AS SOON AS THE MONEY IS IN HIS HAND.

These days, for most of us Ferrang, sponsored bank ATM's are usually so close to the best rates. Shop around, the money changer kiosk in the BTS stations/malls are usually good. People get so worked up over exchange rates, and when in fact they are worrying about a couple of dollars. Do not use your credit card in any place except a bank, high end shop or hotel. Always carry some Thai cash. Few street vendors, smaller shops, taxi's take cards. Always carry coins for the public toilets. I'm from Australia, and i now get a pre-paid ATM card loaded with Thai Baht, the cheapest and best option. The Thai Baht generally tracks the USD. Great for the yanks, less so for the rest of us. Sure bargain at a street stall, market stall or small shop. DOn't bother at a high end shop or department store. NEVER EVER bargain for food, its highly disrespectful. Street food is generally 99% safe. Some street vendors at 5AM outside a club, may have had the food out for a while. Expect to get some stomach troubles. Pack you Imodium and antibiotics, it will happens. Obviously don't drink tap water (even the Thai don't drink tap water) Ice is usually safe. Often its the chilli and spices that upsets you rather than bugs & bacteria.

I like Dtac and AIS but in my opinion if you only go to the city all sims work well, but AIS has the best signal coverage in Thailand right now and they are really number one. But DTAC and True are now merging, which could allow them to compete with AIS in the future.

Do you know if those sim cards will work on any smartphone, or do we need to jailbreak ours (or whatever the term is) to use one? I'll be going to Thailand in a few months and am preparing everything now.

Great tips!! Bangkok is sooo similar to jakarta : avoid the rush hour, street food, and always bargaining to buy goods..

I will be stopping in Tokyo for a few days
It will be winter. Therefore I need to pack one set of winter clothes. Not to heavy but they still need to be warm . So I will have 2 bags . . Thanks for your good information.

3:34 If it’s East Asian travellers, those big luggage bags are actually barely filled. They’re flying in to shop, so need space to take the mother-load home!

Not to eat street food is to miss something of the thai culture which i think street food somehow is, if people not eat street food they have not visit Thailand, i think y guys understand what i mean, alternativ is food courts which also make good food and also cheap, but to buy and eat street food is a special experience.
    Stay safe

The best 'street food' is in food courts in shopping malls. Terminal 21 in Bangkok and Pattaya.
