@@ledouu cadence sensor is the best IF it is smooth and doesn't jerk the bike when it activates and deactivates, which is the case with the vitilan. Hey mate! Thank you so much for all your amazing reviews! I've literally been glued to your channel for the past week or two, trying to decide on my first purchase. I'm looking for a folding bike with a good range (ideally a solid 100km on low level pas), also with some good torque and power (unlockable etc), around the 1 grand price mark (give or take) and preferably pretty easy to move about when folded (and to sling in the back of the car). I've been looking at this bike, the pivy z20 max, the pivy z20 plus 1000, the ado airs, engwes! I'm really finding it hard to make a decision. I'd love this one but worried about the UK laws! What would you say the best 'legal' ebike is? Still the z20 plus? Hills are a big thing got my commute and I'm 6ft so size can be a thing. This and the Lankelesi look great but potentially more noticeable as not legal with motor size.
I am a new subscriber to your channel and find your video very interesting. I am 6"4 and am looking to spend £500 on a Ebike can you recommend any for me. I am finding it hard On what one to choose.
Hi,you have to get the E-Bike that suits you for how and where you are going to ride it,based on your budget. Two important things are the E-Bike motor Nm and battery Wh,and then there's laws, and risks. Start with what type of frame/style of E-Bike you would need, and what you want the frame to have, like built in back suspension, carry handle, battery hidden inside the frame,on top of it,step through,or over, back carry wrack with wired in back brake light and indicators on it,or not etc. Take a look through this channels videos to see different frames and styles. Not all new versions of E-Bikes are better,my new 2nd version E-Bike,I got a few months ago has a well known branded Bafang motor, the new latest 3rd version doesn't. Some older versions of E-Bikes have a slightly less battery Wh/distance,if a few more miles per charge doesn't matter to you, they will be cheaper. Good luck finding the E-bike that is right for you, you're going to need it lol, 👍

If you want road legal then a second hand Eskuta sx250. Alarm and immobilizer - mega comfy, good range and legal. Only drawback is you can't pedal it over 16mph.
There's a v7 3.0 version now apart from the display wonder if its an upgrade. The motor is same spec but different brand wonder if its as good as 2.0 motor.
For me too heavy, and unlocking key location is a bit weird /underneath frame - In wet weather - this will be a problem after while. Battery removal is difficult as well. Propably must be removed to charge... Easy way to drop battery when wrestling with foldable 40kg unstable bike... Not well designed. So, I'm awaiting for review new engine pro.
Every single negative you've mentioned is exactly the same for this type of bike. The engine pro 2.0 will be exactly the same. However you can charge the battery in the bike I'm sure I said I probably wouldn't remove it as it's cumbersome. My very first ebike was this design too, never had a problem with the key being underneath apart from it can be hard to see it to get the key in and the external wiring can get in the way. But yeah I think I said watch out for the battery as it can slide out. It's definitely heavy - not good if you need to take it up stairs.

Hi,Gross weight of the ViTiLAN-I7 PRO 2 is 31Kg/4.88 Stone/68.3lb. Net weight of the E-Bike will be 31Kg minus the box and packaging weight. If it was any lighter,it would need wings using PAS-5.
I don't have the engine 1.0 any more but I'm 90% sure they were the same shape batteries. Both being 48v they should both work but only if the connections match up.
Exchanging the Bafang motor for an unknown "more efficient" brand is cost-cutting on their behalf and not an upgrade for the owner unless the change of motor brings a torque sensor instead of a cadence sensor. Peak power, range and torque specs quoted for 3.0 are the same as 2.0 so where's the efficiency 🤷
@@e-VRC- Does this have a certificate of conformity? Can the throttle be disabled or removed without screwing up the controller? If the answer is 'yes' to both these queries, then this could be a road legal e-bike in Ireland, at least. It would be classed as a lower end e-moped requiring registration, motor tax and for a motorcycle helmet to be worn. I suspect the i7 can be limited to 25kph so that's covered. You could ride it in cycle lanes.
I think that maybe the brands purchase the body or maybe the design then add their own choice of components (which of course are made by other brands) then add their own paint job. It is generic however there are subtle differences when looking at a lot of these folding fat tyre bikes. Like there's a few different 'set styles'.

Yes - the tyres are bouncy - but more comfy as a result...
Haven’t noticed this, have noticed the incredible stability and confidence fat tyres give. I wouldn’t go back to normal thickness bike tyres. Can ride through a foot of water like it’s absolutely nothing I love it.

I was going to purchase the Engwe engine pro 2.0 until i just saw this video. For £300 less it’s going to be hard to not pick this bike over the engine pro
Engine pro 2.0 cannot do full speed of 28mph in throttle only. You need to peddle to reach max speed. This is why I avoided it. Too restrictive for freedom-minded people.
@@peternicholas3858 yes this is one of the reasons i am drawn to this i7 pro, its also cheaper, has a 20ah samsung battery, comes with free mirrors, phone holder & lock. The things i am not sure about though is the customer service/warranty & this being cadence sensor compared to the engine torque sensor.
@@ledouu cadence sensor is the best IF it is smooth and doesn't jerk the bike when it activates and deactivates, which is the case with the vitilan. It helps you use the ebike like it's meant to be, with the least peddling effort to ride. Torque sensor does require effort from you, which is a mix between a regular bike and ebike. I prefer 100% ebike riding with a good quality cadence sensor like vitilan has in their models.
@@peternicholas3858 appreciate the feedback, do you own one of these? Whats the customer service like?
@@ledouu I have the vitilan I7 and it's great. But I have no clue what customer service is like as I didn't need any assistance. The way I see it.... if I ever need service out of warranty, I can either fix it myself as parts are standard and available online. Or I can take it to a shop. After 5 years or so? I'd probably like to get whatever is newer and faster.
Good review, thanks! one thing to note though, no matter how good it is, its still not UK road legal as doesnt have "250W" stamped on the motor, so for me the better bikes are the Engwe L20 or the PVY Z20 Plus 1000 for UK road use, both stamped 250W even though has larger motors and can be restricted to 15.5mph and switch off throttle.

Hi,I'm also looking at the Engwe Engine Pro 2.0 and ViTiLAN-I7 PRO 2 and will probably go for the I7 because it has the most battery Wh for distance and a few more Nm.
Engwe Engine Pro 2.0
52V-16Ah- 832Wh battery
75 Nm 750w Unknown motor.
160mm Hydraulic Disc Brakes
12 Months Warranty
ViTiLAN-I7 PRO 2
48V-20Ah-960Wh battery.
80 Nm Bafang motor.
180mm Hydraulic Disc Brakes.
18 Months Warranty
I7 is also cheaper, has bigger brake disks,a longer warranty and they sell spare parts like controllers on their web site as well.
I don't see anything wrong with the Engwe Engine Pro 2.0 and it looks like a great E-Bike,its just that the I7 is more suitable for me.
52V is good, but not too much better than the 48V of the vitilan. The good thing is that these bikes are generic frames and you can fit higher voltage controllers, batteries and even 1000w+ motors in them if you so desire to make a better or faster bike for yourself. You can buy the parts and a shop can do the work for you.

@@e-VRC Sorry to put a dampener on this, but it's cheap Chinese generic e-bikes like this that are prolific on Alibaba etc. Rebadged, they all come from the same factory. The quality of the metal isn't great, and should you have any issues you'll be looking at lengthy timescales and possibly high costs. I'm speaking from experience here.

@@mhmh9302 Thats part of the problem. There are a handful of Western companies making ebikes, but a majority shilled on YT are cheap Chinese ones that all look the same and are shilled as the "best". I'm in my 40's, 6ft but a svelt 64kg, which presumably might help with range? If you can offer any advice, it would be much appreciated! What would you go for?
Probably the max for great range and light-ish for carrying.
@@e-VRCSorry for hogging the questions, but can you confirm what reliable top speed the PVY Z20 Max does? Watched your review and a few others, the numbers seem to diff, but you're the most trusted source tbh
I'd love this one but worried about the UK laws! What would you say the best 'legal' ebike is? Still the z20 plus? Hills are a big thing got my commute and I'm 6ft so size can be a thing. This and the Lankelesi look great but potentially more noticeable as not legal with motor size.
No need to worry about the laws, I’ve never been bothered once by anybody. And I’ve done thousands of miles on bikes that go a lot quicker than 15.
Nice bike lots i like about it &, fast up Sandy Lane.
As you say an option to change it to bmx stlye bars would have been nice.

Probably i7 in a hilly area since it's more powerful.
I live in Hastings UK where there’s loads of steep hills so what folding e-bike would you recommend please? Thanks!
This one I guess 👍
Hi I got the i7 PRO 2 after watching this video,it will get you up steep hills that 500w E-Bikes can't manage and I go down hills using no battery (PAS 0) at around 25-30Mph.
Battery distance seems good so far,
'24.4 miles today (342 total so far) two bars on the display used.
Mainly PAS-3/4 on cycle lanes using throttle, too humid to pedal.'
'32.1 miles today (374 total so far) three bars on the display used.
Mainly PAS-4 on cycle lanes/across fields/dry mud paths.'
I wanted an E-Bike that would get me up very steep hills and have good battery distance,If I wasn't happy with my i7 PRO 2 at doing so (so far) I would post and say so.
Max speed so far has been-33.7 Mph.
Is there an aftermarket front light upgrade ? How about a flashing taillight that can be easily added?

Every single negative you've mentioned is exactly the same for this type of bike. The engine pro 2.0 will be exactly the same. However you can charge the battery in the bike I'm sure I said I probably wouldn't remove it as it's cumbersome. My very first ebike was this design too, never had a problem with the key being underneath apart from it can be hard to see it to get the key in and the external wiring can get in the way.
