Can you deactivate the unwanted, intrusive darned pedal-assist and ONLY use the throttle and/or can the PAS wires be physically disconnected? If not I ain't buying one. I - the rider-owner - want to decide when I need power not have "pensioners' pedelec" pedal-assist kicking in all the time. It also increases range if ebike-riders can activate power only when we need it or want it using only the throttle with no interfering PAS / pedal assist!! Paul G

I can understand people's concerns. I don't think we should allow the law to come in the way. Ebikes are one of many good solutions to what the government tries to do "combat climate change". I don't understand why they restrict something that is going to boost the advantages of the "climate change". Just use common sense. Where a helmet, protection, keep to the speed limits on the road, ride slow or get off on pavements. Instead of us talking about what laws we should allow the government to use. How about make videos on ebikes safety videos. Like in school kids learn how to ride a bike and ride a bike on public roads. Don't need a law just commen sense and education

Power should be unrestricted as peoples weight and mobility varies. Throttle should be allowed as sometimes is safer to use/concentrate on steering vs having to "go through the motions" of peddling even though you aren't actually putting pressure on the peddles. The max speed should be 20 mph so it aligns with the new 20 mph limits.

When it comes to the ebike law that is actually in the process of changing to increase the power limit to 500w and allow the use of throttle control without pedaling so it will be good when this finally goes through however it is still stupidly limited to 15.5mph, when it comes to speed there is study data that shows being able to maintain pace with other road users reduces over all accidents this is why certain motor vehicles are not allowed on motorways if they can't maintain pace, when it comes to the roads cyclists are likely to be on these are usually limited to a 20mph speed limit anyway, America is a great example of logical ebike laws in that under motor alone it stops at 20mph but if you pedal then the motor can go up to 28mph and in the US they saw a mark reduction in accidents caused by cars trying to over take. The usual argument from the lycra clad weekend warriors is that high power ebikes are a danger and go to fast and blah blah, the reality however is as was pointed out in the video normal cyclists can easily do 20 - 25mph on a properly geared mountain bike and easily 30 to 40 on a road / racer bike and more down a hill

This is good for certain situations but not not really a good city bike or anything with hills ... unfortunately

Reviewers and manufacturers NEVER talk about how you're gonna get new batteries 3-4-5 years from now. They just want ya to buy a whole new ebike instead and leave your not-very-old ebike with its dead or weak battery in your garage or shed to gather dust with the other ebikes and escooters you couldn't find new batteries for after 3-4 years - or if you could they were ridiculously expensive.. I believe the chain-wheel lacks an inner guard and that contributed to the chain jumping ship. I can see the outer but couldn't make out if an inner was present; if not, Fiido needs to address it as it's no laughing matter! If it did it once it's highly likely it'll do it again. I'm wondering if replacing the rear derailleur with one with a more powerful retention spring will eliminate the chain-slop seen in some of these long wheel-base cargo models.

The battery is impressive and no doubt a heavyweight; however it's mounted high up which isn't good. Having concentrated weigh high up generally make a bike unstable. If rider is wearing a heavy backpack too you must be on your guard as your fighting increased gravitational forces especially while leaning into turns or moving at a slow pace.

Nice looking bike but, for what I would like it for, my arse bones could not cope .

I misread the title at first, thought it was lethal and brilliant ;-). An interesting ebike, but when the saddle is adjusted to the lowest setting, the battery and the cable came worryingly close to the ground. Give the pot-hole ridden state of UK roads, that would be something to be very concerned about when riding.

Your Sandy Lane Hill Test might be the decider. Excuse me if the following are annoying newbie questions (I have no experience whatsoever with e-bikes :-)) but for now, what I’d really like to know about this bike is.. 1. Can you use the walk assist without having the throttle attached to the handlebar? 2. Can the full 80nm of torque be used when limted to 25km/h and without having the throttle attached to the handlebar?

These cargo bikes should have a mid drive kit, so much more torque and can be much less watts.
