I live in Australia and have a folding bike with 20” fat tyres. I have had it for two years and it lives in the back of my car. I don’t use it for commuting. That means any time I’m at a nice location I pull out my bike and go for a ride. With a rigid bike, unless you put a bike rack on the back of your car, you tend to ride the same areas. Mine goes everywhere with me and gets plenty of use.

lets face it, the only reason to get a folding ebike is to take it with you everywhere, especially in NYC, where it's guaranteed to be stolen if left outside. there is no chain or ulock that a cordless grinder cant cut through in a matter of seconds.

Usually folding bikes are too hard to find in this price range but lucky you, you've made the perfect deal out of it. Hope you are enjoying the product as much as you expected.

Folding e bikes are a niche product. They are relatively low volume sellers. I would venture to say that the company I bought my folding e bike from sells less than 1% of their models as foldables. If you do not NEED a folding e bike, then opt for a standard framed bike. I am somewhat happy with my purchase, and I NEEDED it to be a folding bike. But if I did not need one, I would have opted for a standard bicycle.

Sorry, but this video lists concerns that really cannot be measured very well, or information about them isn’t available. It misses so many considerations that are just as important if not more so. Such as, cost of battery replacement and other maintenance costs, ease of troubleshooting, clear and concise instructions in the owners manual, security features, operation costs such as annual fees for support apps, availability of good customer service (which means, NO artificial intelligence or automated phone menus that are circular dead-ends with no way to reach a live person that speaks understandable English), availability of parts, etc.
