    The field of sports medicine is kind of doing away with the term 'shoulder impingement' in favour of terms like 'subacromial pain' or simply 'shoulder pain'!!!. More recent research has led to the understanding that impingement of the subacromial tissues is a completely natural mechanism that occurs in everyone. Potential causative factors such as scapular dyskinesis, acromion morphology etc have also been called into question. There are alot of myths and misconceptions surrounding the shoulder, which have their foundation in outdated research, yet are still being used to explain shoulder pain to this day. Could it just be as simple as, the subacromial tissues have a decreased capacity to the load and frequency of the stress that is being placed upon them? whether that be due to poor training habits, load management, inadequate rest and sleep, poor nutrition etc etc.... Maybe? Great channel by the way, love the content!

    @RorRiiZzLE 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think there’s way too much information about his case that we don’t know. Like basically when you put it that it could be either an injuries rotator cuff or elsewhere causing impingement or opposite where he has impingement somewhere due to anatomical deformity.
    Like for all we know, his acromion could be hooked anywhere from slightly to severely, depending on how much space that’s taking up, they could go in and shave it down and it should be a fairly quick rehab barring complications.
    It could just be inflammation due to just a minor strain at some point and then continuing to try and play on a team where he’s extremely ball dominant and doesn’t just shoot a lot (overhead motions by the dozen), but he also keep his dribble alive for a long time pretty much every time he brings the ball up, which is every time considering he’s the starting point guard and their for this season, their best player.
    So, especially with a joint like the shoulder, where there’s a lot going on in some small places all surrounding a big ball and socket joint, it’s difficult to really just speculate without more detailed information. Also because it wasn’t as straight forward as many injuries either, like Ben Simmons just missed a few games from an AC sprain, but it was obvious on which play it happened just from how he reacted to it and then speculation of a diagnosis was much simpler because it was similar to a football running back putting his shoulder down and getting that same injury which is fairly common among the running back community. (Last week, when Simmons got his AC injury, Philadelphia Eagle’s running back, Miles Sanders was rehabbing the same injury)
    But, I still enjoy your videos and hope to continue to see more.

    High carb diets tend to destroy joints and he's on a vegan diet now.

      @SSTG4 exactly. It takes a few years to deplete the reserves. Regular people, if being extremely cautios, might stay healthy for decades, and if compared to the standard junk food diet even get healthier, but no way can an athlete competing at this level sustain his body on a vegan diet. Have you seen Gamechangers "documentary"? Do a quick search on those athletes. They all started fading couple of years after going vegan, even before their prime. Some were even dropped from the film because ironically they left veganism during the production. There are plenty of ex-vegan athletes who left veganism on time, and plenty of those who prematurely ended their careers because of their stubbornness. I hope its the first one with Kyrie. Then again, at some point he was a flat-earther so i guess he might be hard to convince with evidence if he has chosen to believe something.
