  • I’m tearing things apart again on the truck camper. The Streetside skirt has water damage and will be rebuilt using composite materials that are water, rot and mold resistant.
I’m also making more room in the storage area for a big power upgrade. 200Ah LifePo4 battery, power distribution bus, monitoring shunt, power disconnects and better fusing.

I am following your RV repairs with great interest. Of all the video creators in this subject area, you have applied the most practical and intuitive techniques! I just bought a 1999 Elkhorn 10W and it has very similar issues as yours has had. I will be applying most of your repair techniques with only a few modifications to save some costs. I am not able to source some of the materials you used, so I am going to use plywood and OSB where I can get away with it, but I will encase all of the wood in either Flex Seal or fiberglass. I have to replace the shoulders, one whole wall, (interior and exterior), and the tub. I have to build up the bottom of the tub to lift the camper up off my bed rails and that whole structure will be coated with Flex Seal. I did find out that the inside skin of the skirts on mine are Filon and not paper, so I'll have two good surfaces to laminate to new core structures. I think I'm in good shape structurally, but I'll find out more as I dig into it. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks for this. I have a similar camper and all your knowledge about RV repair will help me down the road when my wood inevitably gets wet

Yep. I feel pretty comfortable with these types of repairs now. I figured that the chances of me making it worse was relatively slim.
