    Just purchased a water damaged slide in pop up truck camper. Your videos look like the will take the scary out of the build.

    This is so helpful; I'm trying to do the exact same thing right now but I have no idea what I'm doing lol So far I'm just ripping out old wood and gross styrofoam. I didn't think to take out the windows first, so I guess I'll do that next haha

    We just bought a 66 model camp trailer. I'm afraid I'll be doing this. But the wife loves the vintage look.

    i have a 85 tioga rotted bunk .i have found the front sloping window dosnt have a drain like all the other windows do which is flawed and the weather seal which i replaced that seats against glass only really keeps glass in and isnt a proper water tight seal so the water overflows in the channel the seal fits into and overflows into the channel behind it then into the cabover.what i did was drill 4 small holes in the bottom of the front channel the seal fits into to allow the water to drain out properly.also i cut out 2 or 3 10mm sections from the back of seal bead at bottom of indow to allow water out.

      Have a 82 with dual fronts. It needs reframing of front wall and both overhang side walls. No visible delam of outer front or sides, but framing is gone. Thanks for the heads up.

    Oh, the more you look the more rot there is! There must be a million of these slowly rotting into the ground. Good thing you have the skills and ability. How many hours... how will this pencil out, time will tell.

    I own and live in my 15' 1976 Dodge cruise master with the cab over window ( just an average house window) . All my windows are not class c windows... House Windows, and that's causing water damage. My nightmare 😔

    I'm finishing up similar cab over rebuild on my 98 c class. After drying out I painted the framing with a hardener and sistered in where needed. U mentioned jacking up the cab over? Do U have any pictures of the process?

      Yes, next couple of videos will show that process.

      If may ask... what kind a hardener are you using ?

    Going through a process of measuring, documenting construction, assembly methods used, sourcing of acceptable replacement materials, all would have been so much more helpful. The constant look how broke this is, becomes really distracting. Yup its all coming out would have been enough. Your rebuild talents must be such that you have faith in re-buildability.

    stick of dynamite should do it. Im so glad i sold my 29' class C replaced the roof n resealed it twice rubber roofs are horrible

      EPDM and TPO Rubber are excellent materials. It’s almost always neglected maintenance that causes the leaks.
      I’ve inspected original EPDM rv roofs that have been properly maintained last 20-25 years.

      @@covetthecamper2289 I spent 4500 on complete new roof, sealed n within 3 yrs leaked then resealed even the overhead lights...leaked again staining the fabric interior...they all leak...mold too.

    It’s all a very simple process of de construction and Re construction; only OVER build it this time.

    Hi. We have the same issue. But we also have water leaking on the ceiling inside the cab itself. Where would that water be coming from

    • @covetthecamper2289
      @covetthecamper2289  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There’s a seam/sealant where the fiberglass meets the van cab/chassis. That seam/sealant should be inspected and resealed if needed
