Testing the new 5000 BTU Air Conditioner in the Truck Camper. Harvesting Water?

Getting the new air conditioner tested and installed into the camper. This little Frigidaire 5000 btu air conditioner is the perfect size for our camper. The old roof mounted Coleman Mach was just too loud and too big for this camper. I'm wiring and plumbing this smaller air conditioner in so that it can run off of our inverter and solar panels. I'm also figuring out how I can harvest the water...

Dude you are amazing Thank You for the amazing video. I have a 2001 and the top isn't closing leaves about a 1-1/2 inch gap. Any ideas or should i do what you did and remove the entire slide out? Also previous owner jerry rigged the slide out motor directly to the shaft and I have a gate latch to keep it from sliding out while driving. do you know where i can get the proper gear mechanism? Again THANKS amazing work.

Immediately before I watched this video I was thinking of a similar method. I live have a garage, so Imstead of the saw hourses, I am going to mount supports to the walls of the garage and then extend the 2x4s between the cap and the bed. These 2x4s will be supported by the supports on the walls of the garage instead of ypur saw horses. It helps to see what you did and how it works for you. I am concerned about scratching the paint, so I think I will cover the 2x4 with a pool noodle so the foam is in co tact with the topper instead of the raw wood.

Very impressive. We have a 2014 Coachmen, Forest River, Ultralite, RBS192, travel trailer. The "geniuses" installed a wood particulate, 1-7/8 floor, without a drip edge, on the slide out floor, with the very unreliable black underbelly covering that resembles a woven plastic fabric, that is easily torn . I think they call that garbage "Darco," an apparent industry standard. Why? I would not use that for anything less than securing the ball of a newly dug up tree. All is does is expose water when torn and retains moisture like a green house. Was that actually specified by an engineer? I built a deck, as you did, to remove the slide out. I then replaced the rotted floor with 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch, sandwiched treated plywood. I replaced the rotted wooded framing. I then installed a roof drip edge and lapped eternabond tape over the drip edge seam, so no water can be exposed to the ends of the floor. Thank you for sharing your excellent methods of rebuilding, improving and protecting your slide out.

im in a micro camper in Florida right now and in the shade I get away with a 24v 1800BTU AC. It only consumes 170watt and my house battery is 460AH charged by 320w and 50a dc-dc. It's a tiny space it needs to cool so I'm good. The AC is basically in the van's garage facing in and is vented with shared garage fan out. Its a very clean and stealthy design.. In a few years plan to build a bigger van I can stand in (maybe a 118 wheel base) and wonder if this design will work with a 5000btu AC like yours? That is venting into the shared garage and having a shared exhaust fan from a hot , muggy garage with my tools, other appliances and devices like inverter, fridge, mppt, dc-dc, etc.? also I would need to consider drainage of course.
