In a healthy pregnancy with no-complications it is always best to give baby as much time in the womb. She mentioned in her description that she was dealing with medical issues and didn’t feel confident doing nothing before a medical intervention at 39weeks. I am being induced at 39weeks by my hospital but just remember to do lots of research, because it’s your job to make the medical decisions for you and your baby. Just make sure you talk to your doctor.
Totally agree with this ^^ Normally it is best to give baby all 39-40 weeks in the womb, but for me I was having severe medical issues that made me uncomfortable waiting til that point. I had severe fear of stillbirth which I was at 7x higher risk of due to my health. Every day that passed felt like an eternity and that’s why I ultimately made the decision I did. However, if you’re past 39 weeks and just ready to be done, I totally get it and you can do research to weigh the pros and cons! As a mom it’s your job to do what’s best for your babies, and that’s exactly what I believe I did.
@@ariebeston187 I was told that's even more dangerous if your high risk. I've had two babies before 1 was high risk so I didn't do it . My third which I'm preggos with now isn't and if I get to 39 weeks I want to do it but people say baby swallows meconium
The meconium rumor is false! I did SO much legitimate research before deciding to do it, and that was my biggest fear! But it is also important that you make the drink correctly and not do plain castor oil. In Germany, doctors actual prefer having patients attempt midwives brew before traditional medical induction because it is more natural and has fewer risks associated!
I’m 31 weeks right now, but my dr did say she is going to do a membrane sweep at 37 weeks and by then I can start doing other natural things to induce my labor naturally! Pumping, walking, sex, etc. so hoping all this works!
@@angelinat6816 I did do everything above.. sad part is my water broke at 38 weeks and 4 days and I went in to labor and delivery and still wasn’t having contractions and I wasn’t dilating and come to find out my baby was in distress so I was rushed into an emergency c section. Everything was so fast and crazy😭 it was awful but my baby girl was born perfectly healthy nothing was wrong to or with her. So I had my placenta and my umbilical cord sent off and tested to see what was wrong and everything came back healthy and perfect but there was a 8 millimeter hemorrhage in my umbilical cord. But I had a visit with my dr and my pregnancy was very healthy and so was my placenta and my fluid and even my umbilical cord was good she said the small hemorrhage in it wouldn’t have caused my baby to be in distress. The Rhythm was showing my daughter was having pseudo sinusoidal pattern which meant my baby was bleeding out in the womb and on the verge of death.. so when they took her out of my via emergency c section she came out perfect fine and nothing was wrong. I'm planning on trying this when I'm further along but honestly only the castor oil does anything because it irritates the intestines the rest of the ingredients mite be to cover the castor oil flavour or are old wives tails to help induce labour. So I will try castor oil, banana, and almond milk smoothie. May aswel make it drinkable.
I did a ton of research before trying! It’s not really a wives tale, and is actually completely backed by science! In the UK midwives use it as a first attempt at induction prior to using synthetic drugs to induce. The reason for the other ingredients isn’t flavor, it’s because the nut butter coats the stomach to prevent the laxative effect. It’s very important to do the entire recipe for safety reasons. When done correctly, there is very little room for any negative side effects. People often hear of horror stories with castor oil, and my research showed that it is more correlation than causation. Scientists say that if something bad is going to happen during labor (such as passing meconium) it will likely happen regardless of what you did or didn’t do. Hoping this sheds some light.
@@TheLockeFam weres the scientific literature to back it up? I'd love to read it. I've since also looked into the other ingredients almond butter I read is to coat the stomach the lemon verbena is ment to be in oil form not in a tea form. It was changed along the way because someone doing a midwives brew video couldn't gone it in the oil form so switched to a tea. Only castor oil causes contractions in the uterus it seems.

Girl I just tried this 1hr ago. I'm 35 weeks and my Dr has been a huge bitch these last 2 months we agreed on vbac I did everything I had to do I lost weight I reversed my diabetes and she told me if I did all that we're good for vback and now all of a sudden she's been pushing me and telling me I'm having a c section on the 27th. So I told her no I want natural! We agreed natural birth..... And her words exactly she said if you can go into natural birth on your own before the 27th then yes I'll let you try, if not c section. So challenge excepted wish me luck!
That’s what happened to me with my last pregnancy, except my Dr waited until I came in in labor and then whisked me in for another c section as soon as she realized it was real labor. I’m 30 weeks now and really hoping for a v bac . Needless to say I am seeing a different Dr this time around. 🙏🏼🤞🏼
@@rachelchristner8573 I found a new Dr! He has been really amazing he's super supportive of vbac. I saw him Friday and he did a membrane sweep. And is letting my body/baby do her thanggggg I'm currently 37 weeks let's see how things go!! I hope you get your vbac!!!
You’re actually meant to finish the drink within 20mins, it doesn’t really seem that you finished it that quickly. 😬 but for those looking for a higher success chance, drink up quick. ☺️
I would say it definitely helps, but dilation truly can happen at a different rate for every woman. Some women sit dilated for weeks with no progress, whereas some go from not being dilated at all to being fully dilated in a matter of hours. So bottom line, if your body isn’t ready, it isn’t ready and you won’t go into labor. But if your body is ready, then it is typically successful.
It did not work for me it actually made me almost die on the toilet I took it last night I did the exact measurements for the ingredients and used all the correct ingredients as well. Nothing happened except a violent 10 toilet trips... I guess I'm the small percent of women it doesn't work on. And I already lost my mucus plug and have been having irregular cramps so I thought it was going to work😒
Haha unfortunately I don’t think that would be as safe or effective. Wal-Mart does have $19 blenders though! So depending on how desperate you are, you could get one of those!
Lol, they are food products, it will definitely be safe. The castor oil is the only ingredient that induces labor, but the others are important because they offset the side effects of the castor oil. Even if you can't blend them, mixing them the best you can would be ideal. But, like she said, you can get blenders suuuuupppppper cheap.

@@kaelabelle4886 the midwives brew worked! He was a healthy baby boy!

Update
Im trying this now. Im due November 9th. Hoping it works im ready to be done with pregnancy
Instead of the lemon tea , i put red raspberry leaf tea
UPDATE : im in labor now
@@teamlibra98 how did it go ???
Hey! Did you do the midwives brew and the exercises?
@@imanimalia8886 It was scary at first because I didnt think it was going to happen that fast. I started feeling contractions around 12 am went to the hospital and they say my contractions were sporadic and i wasnt dilated was sent home at 2am. Went home ate pizza and water broke at 4 am was in labor for 28 hours and had her via csection bc at one point i couldnt dilate past 4 cm. I had her on the 4th and unfortunately not leaving the hospital until Monday because I got a fever and they want to make sure in good before I go
I’m 38weeks and thank you for letting me know about the castor oil because I was truly scared for me and my baby😌💝💝
Did you try it??? I’m 38 weeks & might try it after talking to my midwife
@@natashaletourneau5368 did it work?
@@Chloe-ws1py no! I never did it because the castor oil can be very dangerous & plus I’ve had a c section with my 1st so anyone who has had a c section definitely should not either
Trying this today wish me luck !
It definitely will only work if your body is ready. Im 39 weeks ive tried it twice and nothing has happened 🙃
I tried it that night and i had my baby the next morning at 8am I’m still shocked that it worked.
@@yenniferantunez342❤❤
I did the video yesterday and tried to do a second set today but my legs are killing me
I’m trying to decide if I wanna do this or not
I was hoping to do it today but everything just came back up I couldn’t even get half way done 😩😂
How long did it take to kick in for you? Just did mine an hour ago, I don’t feel anything yet 😒
Did it work
@@salishabailey830 nope 👎 😒
We’re you dilated at all before drinking the mix ?
I was 1cm before! It was my second pregnancy. Thanks so much for watching! We would appreciate it so much if you subscribe as well ❤️
I've lived in Texas my whole life. And they CAN induce before 39 weeks.
Really? How early is the earliest?
@@london9606 for emergency reason, they can induce at any time. I was induced at "full term" ... Which was 37 weeks.
What time did you take the drink the night before?
Probably healthier for the baby if people waited until their due date to try and induce labour. I see women trying to do this at week 35..
Where did u get the ball ? And the size ?:) please !
you can get them from 5 below!
Im 38+4 I just drank mine @9:30pm. I am 2cm dilated. Im ready to get this done.
I had some small contractions for a few hrs. But then nothing. Im going to try again tonight.
Tried this again today at 6:pm it is now 2:am. I have not noticed any difference other than softer poo...
Thanks for updating.
When did u end up having your baby?
@@lovely.helpmate I finally had her at 2:43am on the 17th. She just didnt want to come.
I need to try this in couple more weeks
My midwife is ok with this so I’m ganna ask her on Friday for my 38 week apt.
I’m already 2cm & 80% effaced
EDIT-
My midwife said to not do this because I’ve had a c section before.
Anyone whose had a c section should never do the brew because it can really harm your uterus!
Did you get your sweep? And is your little baby here? 😍
Holly Hindle my sweep never worked 🤷🏻♀️
My due date is today! No signs of labor & my midwife actually said... do not do the brew because I’ve had a c section before so I’m not doing it
Holly Hindle definitely done!!!
I’m so over it & just want to meet him!
Do you know what your having?? I definitely would no do this brew if you don’t have to! It’s not worth the risk 💙
Omg really you cant if you was a c section
Holly Hindle congratz! I just had my boy finally 2 days ago at 41 weeks 💙
Did anyone do this while being GBS positive? I want to but every story I hear, the labor is super fast. I want to be able to get all of the antibiotics
My midwife said if u have the baby before antibiotics they will just watch them closely. But I would just go to the hospital as soon as either ur water breaks or contractions 5 mins apart
This is exactly me, I made the brew and then found out I was GBS positive right after so its just gave it in the fridge. Idk if I should take it or not. I don’t want to be too late to the hospital
Hey has it worked for you
Wow, that’s awful. Natural is always best. Hope you go into labor! Make sure to drink the entire mixture
Thats soo early to attempt to induce labor.
Hardest thing I've ever had to do was drink this
I drank mine in 1 minute
I just had mine today I drank in in maybe 15 mins it wasn’t bad
Did it work for you ladies?
KB Tuom I try twice nothing and that was two days ago I’m trying it rn
@@christinaquintana732 how far along are you?
I made this took one sip and almost threw up all over, idk how anyone can get this drink down 😭
Does it need to be drank on a empty stomach?
Yes
37wks6d just took mine an hour ago. 1cm dilated but Still no contradiction
Did it work for you?
37 weeks is totally fine to induce! My mom purposely had a baby at 37 with all 5 of her kids
With castor oil or induction?
Tristany Beckwith well... she told them her last period was 2 weeks before it actually was. So they didn’t know she was 37 but they induced her
You’re actually meant to finish the drink within 20mins, it doesn’t really seem that you finished it that quickly. 😬 but for those looking for a higher success chance, drink up quick. ☺️
I actually chugged it and finished within like 10 minutes! Everything I did worked, so I’m satisfied 🥰 Baby girl is a year old now!
How many oz was your cup? I used like the red party cup ( 18oz) then half of a cup your size
I’m not sure how many oz to be honest. I just followed the recipe and drank the full blender cup.
What is lempn verbena tea?
Is is normal lemon tea? I am confused
No it's not lemon at all its lemon GRASS tea.
You can substitute gingerale it's purpose is to settle the stomach and counter the loose bowels from the castor oil.
Do you have to be dialating to try this ??
I would say it definitely helps, but dilation truly can happen at a different rate for every woman. Some women sit dilated for weeks with no progress, whereas some go from not being dilated at all to being fully dilated in a matter of hours. So bottom line, if your body isn’t ready, it isn’t ready and you won’t go into labor. But if your body is ready, then it is typically successful.
@@TheLockeFam omg thank you definitely going to try at my 39week mark !
Congratulations
Trying midwives brew today for the 2nd time 🤣 first time just prodromal labor 😭
Did it work?
How long did you wait to take the second batch?
@@ashleighbingham2128 you gotta wait 24hrs to drink it again
What if u c section
It did not work for me it actually made me almost die on the toilet I took it last night I did the exact measurements for the ingredients and used all the correct ingredients as well. Nothing happened except a violent 10 toilet trips... I guess I'm the small percent of women it doesn't work on. And I already lost my mucus plug and have been having irregular cramps so I thought it was going to work😒
The almond butter makes it disgusting lol
the truest comment haha
I threw up 😢
I don’t have a blender do you think I could just kinda ingest everything and it still work 😂
Haha unfortunately I don’t think that would be as safe or effective.
This could kill baby I’m glad yours went ok but terrible posting things like this
That’s actually completely false information. Do some research on it.
No offense but why🙅♀️😭
... to avoid getting medically induced.
I’ve done both medical induction and natural and 100000% preferred all natural.
@@TheLockeFam and plus it's your body girl some people don't really understand what it's feel like being pregnant everything is hurts i have 5 kids i always induce myself at home at 37 or 38 weeks and i had successful labor and delivery and healthy babies sooo thanks God for that
Don't chug it
Just drank update later 🤞🏽🤎
How did it go?
