I’ll buy used or vintage Traxxas stuff, or parts if I have to but I won’t buy new because that’s shady business practice. They went full bud light. Made a stupid move, then try to say we’re sorry to redeem themselves.. Tuck Fraxxis 😂
Only Traxxas I've owned was a Slash many years ago and a Tmaxx also many years ago, after this newest fiasco with them I won't be buying anything in the future, there are usually better, cheaper options.
Great followup bro! Appreciated :) I don't understand the "not available" part though? The cars are all over the (online) shops.. I bought one several weeks ago
The battery thing is a minor inconvenience. I have 5 Traxxas, 2 Arrma, an Axial, a Tamiya, a Losi and a few cheap car and a bunch different batteries in which none are Traxxas. You can still get Traxxas connectors so I just make really short jumpers that are EC3 or EC5 to Traxxas. They are about 2 inches long and I dont have to worry voiding my Traxxas warranty on my 2 car that are new enough to have a warranty. You just need the connectors, short wires, shrink wrap, and some desent soldering skills or have you local hobby store solder it together. Funny this about this is the local shop is a Traxxas only store and they made this suggestion to me and showed me how to do this the right way.
IDK man, a quick check shows Traxxas to IC3 adapters all over Amazon and eBay for those that don't feel comfortable swapping the connector on their factory ESC. Granted, I currently own one TRX-4, but I use all my batteries interchangeably between all my RC rigs without issue. I mean, I get it, proprietary BS sucks (yeah, I'm looking at you Apple!) but there are ways around it with something as simple as battery connectors.
@@RCReviewChannel Yep. Exactly why I pointed it out. eBay and Amazon have a plethora of adapters for those that aren't comfortable swapping connectors themselves. But honestly, if someone is serious about the RC hobby, please learn a simple solder job like soldering on a new connector. TH-cam and a $15 soldering iron is all it takes to make yourself independent from proprietary BS and be able to use the batteries of your choice.
@@michaelc3416 Not everyone wants to void their lifetime warranty as soon as they get their car. I agree the proprietary stuff is annoying and their batteries are twice the price of others but adapters work just fine until something dies and you want to upgrade.
@@2Geek2bChic Valid point. 👍 Didn't mean to imply one should necessarily swap plugs. Just that it's a simple solder job and a skill set anyone in this hobby should pick up. And, you are correct. Adapters are cheap and easy, and work just fine. In fact, I have and use adapters to allow me to charge multiple plug type batteries.
Always good to know both sides of the story. Still, Traxxas continues to manufacture proprietary equipment for their vehicles and then they tie that in with warranty claims, forcing people to use their product (or void their warranty). They just won't learn! So, it's up to us to show them there are consequences for their actions but we have to stick to our guns or nothing will improve. I sold my last Traxxas vehicle this year and have no plans to purchase another one anytime soon.
Yeah because traxxas do that only riight? Spektrum connectros are proprieaty as well and no one gives sahit for them because of that and the arrma which msotly uses spektrum parts gives you the lowest quality parts to barely keep the cars together 4x4 drives are optional metal compnonets aren't a thing on lower tier products this is how it goes...
@@maszkalman3676 Huh?! There are numerous connectors out there and all, including Spektrum, are compatible with regular chargers. The Traxxas connectors are specially constructed and can only be used with a Traxxas charger, hence 'proprietary'. People buying a new Traxxas are forced to buy their charger or switch connectors and void the warranty.
My wife bought me an Xmaxx for Christmas along with 2 6700’s and dual live charger. I used the charger maybe one time. Immediately switched to hobbywing max6 and XT90 because all of my other rcs use xt90’s or xt60’s. I want to only use one charger for everything, not have to have a separate 400$ setup just to run one truck. It’s stupid. I instantly ripped out the stock ESC when I realized how ridiculous it was my wife had to spend that much because she thought there was no other option. Traxxas got us. Just like they get over on everyone else. Love my Xmaxx but I’ll not buy another traxxas money pit. I also re wired my 6700,s to use xt90 and balance lead. If you know how to solder and can pay close attention to what your doing I highly recommend it.
Also tony from ccxrc had a great video regarding that. He said that he had talks with someone and it was a 3rd party company and the lil guys got caught in the crosshairs and it was a mistake. Thus why they recalled the orders and they posted that notice. Seems pretty clear and the over reaction without the facts and just a feeling is what’s wrong with the country today. Facts matter feelings don’t. Great videos. Great content!
I have no longer posted any videos with Traxxas products. I know I'm a small timer, but it meant something to me. I can't advertise for them for free if they are gonna act like that. I've not put out a video as several of my rigs are gone now and am building a few more in axial and vanquish currently
Hi Francis, I’ve been watching your channel for awhile now but just found out you’re local to the Bay Area! I’m wondering where there are good spots to take my crawlers!
Please keep making this content. Im frustrated that the axles grind when I try to turn my trx-4 in the joints. It is brand new. It shouldn't be this way out of factory. And their warranty will not allow hobby stores to return exchanges the product. This is a terrible way to do business and benefits no one
i was wondering if you can do a 2023 servo review. i was looking for a budget servo for the rlaarlo ak917. also review of rlaarlos new motors and how they perform . so in other words all the best upgrades they offer on there site. rlaarlo products only fastest speed possible
my boss rode at the Laguna Seca race. How did you do? Sorry you got covid and glad you've recovered and sound good. I get what Traxxas is trying. You need to use "for", "fits". Not dissimilar of parts, non-OEM for computer devices, our vehicles, (in my field of work I can't just specify "name brand, part number" and have to differentiate away from OEM. But they did screw this up... where was their marketing/customer relations team on this? As a chief in a company, this is not how I would want my brand to feel like to customers. #1 issue companies that interact this close to customers mess up on is communication. And they screwed this up and people won't forget for some time.
I think it's an issue of a legal team of high paid lawyers who have too much freedom. They have no regard for the dealer network, their own marketing team and company image. They need to make big decisions like this as a unified team.
So, with this all really boils down to is this. Although Traxxas has lessened (but NOT gotten rid of) their bullying on one front...that being the manufacturers of 3rd-party parts for the TRX4m...they've added two additional forms of bullying. Put another way, one step forward, two steps back...although, in truth, it was more like a 1/2 step forward. It, truly, is a shame that Traxxas has to act this way. Because of their actions, over the next couple of years...possibly longer...I'd be willing to bet they lose far more customers than they gain. I will continue to enjoy my heavily modified Sledge (The last Traxxas vehicle I bought)...but, that WILL be my LAST Traxxas vehicle. I will also have no problem in using my channel to (occasionally) help people "avoid" purchasing from Traxxas. 🤙🏼
Change the connector and use your own batteries.. but I agree what they did was a little much and their batteries do suck compared to the competition. They need to make hardcases, decrease prices and make them compatible with other chargers and they will sell more. Just my opinion 😂
Appreciate the update. Seems TRAXXAS is continuing with poor decisions. There are far too many quality competitors to support TRAXXAS' questionable business acumen.

Only Traxxas I've owned was a Slash many years ago and a Tmaxx also many years ago, after this newest fiasco with them I won't be buying anything in the future, there are usually better, cheaper options.
You can still make adapter from the original battery.
Great followup bro! Appreciated :)
I don't understand the "not available" part though?
Ebay is where they exist since those small sellers are too small of targets to come after by Mr. T.
You see, the goal in marketing is not to increase selling but the important is that they speak about you. In this matter we speak a lot.
Absolutely Nanni
11:13 wait... you were about to say something about the K5 haha. Maybe an upgrades vid coming soon? 🤔
Yeah, more vids coming on that
@@RCReviewChannel excited
Was about to say just cut and splice whatever connector you want on the battery
Great option for those with the ability.
Great content as usual,it seems like Traxxas became aware of your voting poll
I kinda forgot about the poll but there was an approval queue of angry comments i had to go through. :)
@@RCReviewChannel 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Congratulations 🎊 👏 Appreciate the content
For most consumers, there is little option. Soldering is an unknown for most AND it does void the warranty on the cheap electronics.
Great content. I'm loving it.
As a traxxas dealer we now have been given the green light to go ahead and sell parts online.
Good on you
Maybe Traxxas will figure out a way to repair their image but it just doesn’t feel right to buy from them anymore.
Only time and good behavior will create healing for some ex-customers.
Great vid - love the content!
Appreciate it!
If Traxxas wants us to buy their batteries and parts, start making the batteries and parts we want, not what you want us to buy.
Was Traxxas going after RC aftermarket ONLY ???
Huge company has X-MAX name ...
Holly Inc. fuel inj.
Terminator X-MAX ?????
how picky is TRAXXAS ??
I will never, repeat never buy a Traxxas battery. Never have, never will. I still love my Trx4's
