Something is meant to be found, and I am glad that I came across your video. As someone who was making adventure videos on TH-cam and also lost the drive, spirit, soul, and finding this brings all the greatest feelings that I once knew. Thank you so much for bringing and sharing this with us, because it showed me what I have been missing in my life. Thank you and wish you good luck on your journeys. :)
I appreciate the kind words! Happy trails!
Yay another backpacking channel!
One of the most peaceful, enjoyable videos I have seen yet. The scenery was breathtaking.
Thanks for watching! In a place this beautiful it's hard to mess it up!
Saw you on Darwin’s instagram and been waiting for this video!
Thanks for watching!
Great video!!!
Thanks Randy!
Awesome vid!
Thanks!
Absolutely stunning! I really want to go now. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching Jen, really appreciate it!
nice, peaceful, walking. I love this adventure.
Thanks Greg!
This looks amazing my friend. Shots are phenomenal here, such a unique trail. 🔥
Thanks for tuning in! In a place this beautiful it's hard to mess it up!
LOVED this, Ajay…music, scenery….I missed the Tarantula Hawk ….nevertheless, very relaxing; I felt like I was there!🌵
Thanks Barb! If I wasn't worried about the Tarantula Hawk carrying me away I would have tried to get it on video!
👍 👍 👍
looks like a very scenic hike. We often visit Mesa Arizona, I would like to hike a section of this trail sometime. I will have to do some research and find a trail head near Mesa.
It is a beautiful area. I would highly recommend getting out there if you can!
Some of that terrain looks familiar.
Have you hiked this section before?
@@juicehikes5436 I've hiked the Reavis section of the AZT.
Awesome! It's a great section.
Leaving the AZT, what trail did you take west to Canyon Lake? (if it was an actual named trail)
There were several trails but at the AZT split after Reavis Ranch I believe the trail was called Rogers Canyon Trail. This connects up with the JF Trail.
looks incredible man! How was water on the trail? I see a few good sources in the video but wondering how long the stretches were? I am trying to get down there to do some warming up for the season.
Thanks Jack! Water was plentiful when we went which isn’t typical for that area. I rarely carried more than a liter but I could see times of the year you could need to carry 3 or 4.
@@juicehikes5436 wow, must have been nice carrying one liter in the desert sounds like a fun time indeed. Appreciate the info Juice!
It was amazing not having water issues. We got really lucky, I don't expect that to happen to us again. Enjoy your time on the AZT!
Yay Juice! I love my Altaplex tarp. how do you keep your pad from sliding in the tub? Mods or the GG 1/8 foam?
Love that shelter!! I use the GG 1/8 inch which works well.
For someone who's gonna be living outta of a backpack for more than 10+ years (2 people N a dog avg male height), mainly dealing with rain and some winds what tent would you recommend as a very avid camper. Thanks in advance if you respond.
Wow, 10 years? That's a while to be living out of a backpack. I'm not sure any tent will survive 10 years of constant use. Weight to space, you would be hard pressed to beat the ZPacks Duplex or Triplex. The dyneema may start to develop small holes after a few years of abuse but they are easily patchable with dyneema tape. Otherwise I would probably go with the Big Agnes Tiger Wall 3. A little heavier, but plenty of space and probably a little more durable. Cheers!
@@juicehikes5436 Thank you for the detailed and speedy response. Ill look into both option's, Thanks for taking the time of day to help me figure out my future lifestyle of being a true nomad.
Best of luck!!!
Which tents are those ?
Both Darwin and I are using the Zpacks Altaplex Tarp which I believe they discontinued (unfortunately because it's fantastic!) but they still make the Altaplex Tent which has the bug net. ReZ is using the Hexamid Pocket Tarp also made by Zpacks.
Rad, what was the total distance? Would love to do some winter backpacking.
Thanks Ethan. Total was about 90 miles, we were planning on about 100 but shaved a little off due to timing constraints by getting a hitch down to Canyon Lake.
