Thank you! I just bought a sewing machine. After losing weight I have several items I need to take in (not complaining). I will practice on items I don’t care to mess up 1st. I’d also like to learn to hem. Baby steps ;). These video seems like it will really help with all my shirt that are too big on the sides.
Hi thanks for the video of altering a dress as iv lost weight and have been altering skirts ,now going to try and alter a couple of dresses, now will atempt to alter the under arms, any tips appricated Miss Matti,
You can do it! 😊 I think the only thing to bear in mind, which I didn't mentioned in the video, is the shape of the dress you alter. If it's a tight fitting dress you only need to think about how your body is shaped. But, for example, my dress is meant to be very loose in it's fit so I had to alter the seems so that it blends in with the design.
Great tutorial! I would like to see more on altering. The music was kind of overpowering while you were speaking in this video though(louder than you). Also do you make new creations from clothes you no longer wear? Would like to see those too. Love your channel Matti!!
Thank you! 🥰 You’re right about the sound in this video. I have become better at balancing the sound levels since I made this video (but if I ever screw up just let me know!). I do make new creations from clothes I do no longer wear. I haven’t made any in awhile but that’s because I have planned to make it into a video later this year. 😉
I followed your video knowing my project is the same but I have to do it by hand. I don’t see but I was trying to figure out the direction for tightening a big arm hole on a vest ; like you , but reverse. I have a larger bust but narrow waist, so I want to get rid of the gap that is sooo baggy. Ty! Please do some more alterations. I like sewing and creating new ideas from my used clothing. 👍
As I did this awhile back I cannot fully remember. It always takes longer when you film & sew at the same time then when you just alter a piece but I don’t think it took that long.
Thank you for your feedback. This is an old video from 2018 and since then I have improved my audio editing and have a better balance between music & voice. I also have captions on this video which might help you follow my instructions better. 🩷
can not concentrate on video because of the headache inducing banging music. why o why do they need to use noisy music in the back ground. totally not wanted or needed.

One step a time is indeed the best approach when it comes to sewing. You got this! 🤩
This was so useful. Thank you!
You're so welcome! 😃
Excellent work

It was really helpful for me ,I have same problem. How long did it took you to get it fix?

Good to know if you are in a rush altering your dress 👆🏻
Good job
Thank you! 😊🙏🏼
What is the name the machiine you used?
My sewing machine is a Janome DC3050. I had it for many years but I have seen it for sale still in some places.
Which number of niddel is used for this??
I used a microtex needle from Schmetz with needle number 90/14.
My arms are very big I struggle with my dresses
It's a common issue. 💙 I hope my video was helpful?
I can’t see how you pin it. The video went by too quickly
I’m sorry to hear. You can try to adjust the speed of the video to a slower speed that way you might be able to see better.
Would love if you could kill the music. We can hear your voice much clearer.

nice demo, but music is annoying and distracting.

Your nail polish is the same colour as the dress and is throwing me off.
Sorry about that! I just love blue 💙😅🤷🏼♀️
