Always get the older flagships secondhand if necessary from Samsung. Their mid-range and budget tiers compromise heavily on hardware that it's really not worth it. At that price point, you might as well go for a mid-tier Xiaomi or Lenovo.

Yup ,I won't recommend FE for tabs but S21 FE 5G phone (snapdragon) is perfect Fan edition and this year they released s23 Fe which is not even worth the price and so much downgraded .
@itzmranonymous I got my s23 fe for free with a line on metro pcs. For free the phone is Hella worth it. It performs like a $300 phone tho so anything over $100 is too much for the s23 fe. I preferred my s20 fe.
Yes the Tab S9 FE is brighter but the S9 has inky black and red and it saves you a bit more on battery.
I am both an Apple and an Android user and I’m getting the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE for Christmas because I’m that kind of person who does not want to spend so much on an iPad so that later you run out of storage and many other reasons. Apple devices are so expensive for what they are, so I am deciding to try a Samsung tablet after a few years because my old one just stopped working.

@@RajnishRJ-ln8okif you have less budget go for ipad , if you have good budget then go for s8 , or s9 , don't go for fe , cuz everything is good in fe but we don't get snapdragon processor and without it samsung will feel a bit slow , rest all good in samsung
BTW I have 9th gen and in that budget no tablet cam be campare to it, so smooth ,but only problem is all features inside it are paid version so it will cost money + less storage 😢 and no mod app can be installed
S9 fe is powerful too & has waterproof its like a Porsche (s9) & a Lambo (S8) if its in speed.

Both should work for that but S8 will have better performance
If you want performance go for S8 , if budget is tight then go for 9th gen iPad ,no tab can campare to it in the price they are offering that beast . But ipads have restrictions and samsung allows customization. ❤

Fan editions are compromised on hardware ,so if you want a powerful beast check what they are compromising for the price , S8 will perform better than any S9 Fan Edition . It's not like always but this year Samsung has released very downgraded Fan editions ,
Earlier when they release S7 Fe + it was almost equal to S8 ,even you were getting better display than S8 but compromised on ram but it was worth it , but this year FE are not worth .Check and campare specification yourself ,don't depend on reviews always

Is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus 90 Hz good enough for note-taking, or should I go for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 or S8?
Currently the 11" S8 128GB / 8B RAM is on sale at Best Buy for $500 for more than a week, which is only $100 more than the current sale price of the entry level 10.9" 128GB / 6GB RAM S9 FE at Best Buy, which is now on sale for $400, regular price of $450.
I originally ordered the S9 FE last week, but when I saw the sale price of the S8 was still being held over, I ordered the S8, and the S9 FE is going to be returned.
I think for note taking you should be absolutely fine with the S9 FE. Being that a lot of people do more intensive tasks such as video editing or advanced gaming, many people opt for the more powerful options. The new S8 is only going be used for basic games, web browsing, an E-reader, etc., just simple tasks. I tend to buy more than I need, just for re-assurance, I just figured that the S8 probably will hold up better over time, even though it's not going to get as many updates in the future as the FE.
ON the other hand, the S9 FE will get more updates since it's much newer, and the max screen brightness is better on the S9 FE, so the FE has a few advantages as well.

@@Mickeii617 - When you mentioned taking notes for college, I wasn't sure if you meant using a keyboard to type notes, or using Samsung's S-Pen for hand-written notes. If you're intending to use it for the latter, Samsung Tablets would be an especially good choice because not only is the S-Pen is included (unlike the outrageously overpriced Apple Pencil).
Samsung has really improved the S-Pen experience, and many of the reviews I read indicate that the S-Pen is a better choice than going the Apple route. Plus Samsung's Dex seems to be a better multi-tasking experience than iPad's equivalent Stage Manager.
I may not be the best person to provide feedback or input to you, being that I either type up notes in Word, Excel or directly in emails with a separate stand alone Logitech keyboard (most of the time I use my laptop versus a tablet) or I only use regular pen and paper for hand-written notes, just never cared for using stylus pens for note taking. Yes I am much older and went to college a few decades ago.
Everyone has their own criteria as far as choosing the right device that will work best for them. If you're going to use the tablet for watching movies, notes, emails, basic functions, and games that are not graphic intensive, then I think the new S9 FE is a good choice, plus it was just released in Oct 2023, so it will get updates for a longer time. Samsung is now stating that they will provide 4 years of Android updates, plus 5 years of security updates. Not as long as iPads, but still pretty good.
I ended up buying the Tab S8 shortly after I posted the first comment above. It was a belated Christmas present for my husband. I went with the S8 because at the time it was only $100 more than the entry level S9 FE, sale price of $500 for the S8 versus the entry level S9 FE's sale price of $400. I figured that even though my husband may not need the extra processing power, it's good to have it.
The S8 was released back in early 2022, so it won't have as many updates as the S9 FE. The other advantage I liked about the S8 is that you can plug it into a monitor for screen mirroring. The S8 has a couple of advantages over the S9 FE, and some of these may not matter. But the S9 FE has the upper hand in a few instances as well.
The interesting thing is I have been using iPads for over a decade, and after researching Samsung's tablets recently, I am seriously thinking about switching over to a Samsung Tablet. I am really impressed, especially with the S9 FE. Whichever you choose, I am sure it will be a good choice. Hope this helps.

Just purchased the s9 (not FE) because I dont compromise on processing speed.
I also own the s8, and not much difference in speed.
After a few hours of using on screen fingerprint, i actually prefer the button on the s8.
The amoled is the game changer. I use my tablet in taking notes in a very bright environment at work, so the amoled screen alone made it worth it for me.
Ive an s8 ultra....wont be changing up!

Too bad the ultra version is too big for me to carry around on field at work.
@@fortherun6520 im using the free book cover w/ keyboard, the case covers the s-pen too so it wont fall off easily.
I actually prefer my old setting which has the samsung cover + separate 3rd party keyboard.
The s8 also has 4k 30 fps not 1080p
