      They have to properly enter a new market to grind profits, and they know what consumers want like every other company, so nothing special. If it succeeds they ll start taking stuff back to see how far you as a consumer are willing to go, same like every other company. Not trying to sound all doom and gloom, but it was all seen many times already, some companies just try more or less. Be careful with getting hooked to new stuff and filling em up with more and more cash for less.

      Right, it's very exciting. I'd like to know their plans regarding future models, starting with the naming, a future Deck would run the same games but better, so no points in naming it Deck 2, also with how modular the internals are, the most incredible thing they could do is sell mainboards with the latest chips on it without having to buy a whole new system, they seem pretty open with people tinkering with their devices so why not go all the way and sell upgrade kits and only get a whole new system when they change the screen resolution or technology (changing the panel seems much harder) or new input layouts or whatever.

    Would playing the Deck (or any electronic devices) whilst charging cause any issues on the battery life of the battery? I've always read online some people say it won't cause any issues , some say it will.

    • @jacktheripper4731
      @jacktheripper4731 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not 100% but lithium batteries have charge cycles, let's say 5000, the biggest hit is when you go from 80,90 to 100 and when you reach 0, so on laptops for example you limit the battery to 90% through a software and leave it until it's charged to that point, after that it wouldn't charge anymore and instead of using the battery it would directly use the adapter you would use for charging. So the least charge cycles would be spent, there is a command in windows to see how many charge cycles are remaining, I'm not sure about steam deck. If the steam deck works like this (not sure at all) then there wouldn't be any problem. You don't need to limit the battery of course, just fully charged and then you can keep using it whenever you want. Also there's another thing (rumor) I've heard that you should empty the battery like once per two weeks or a month

    As long as they can offer qd oleds with high PPI, then they can even go against top tier set ups. Getting high PPI is not cheap as it is, and neither is QD oled, but for such a small screen it should be possible to offer unsurpassable value in the screens in these small devices.
    The benefit of high PPI is may be something that goes unappreciated, but it basically adds sharpness to the point Picture quality looks 3d without the 3d glasses. Even if such a device (steam deck with qd oled, and high PPI) cost a premium it would be much cheaper than someone getting a top end rig with a high end monitor.
