- Hello prim friends! My name is Gabriella Moir and welcome to our channel The Cape on the Corner at Tweedthistle Farms, where we love to explore antique shops and homes that are filled with history in early American antiques and primitives that also go well in farmhouse decor and decorating. We are sharing the building process too as we build our forever home, a Cape Cod style home on our 5+ acres in Ohio where we also have a specialty cut flower farm. Follow along as we share daily life of starting seeds and planting seedlings for the cutting garden, establish new landscaping near our home to try to give it that early look and feel. In the growing season we'll be starting a kitchen herb garden and so much more. Keep watching!

Thanks for taking me along, I love our Extrav in Kutztown Pa which is held 3 times a year in which I am a dealer . I shop on the first day so I can make sure to get my purchases home! I never set out to find a certain item I just let fate take over and surprise me.

I am new to channel! Very nice it amazes me the big spin wheels ! I even saw a complete one! Spindle!!
I so much enjoyed watching this video! My sister, niece and I were there for the early buying on Friday also. I found some great deals, had a delicious lunch from Schmidt’s and really enjoyed all of the wonderful displays. Unfortunately, I tired from all of the walking, the crowd after Noon and the heat, so we left before I even ran out of money (which was a first for me). You gave some great tips on how to dress and finding a landmark when you park! I agree that people pulling wagons make it kind of cumbersome for other shoppers. But I still enjoy this show and all of the wonderful items to buy!
I'd love to hear what you got! We also had a wonderful lunch from Schmidt's that we ate in the big tent around 11:30. I kept feeling like I was racing the clock before the crowds would come in, but it was quite crowded in the morning as it was!
I bought a brown transferware pitcher for $10 - a Watt stoneware bowl for $3 - an ornate silverplate serving fork for $1 - a vintage coat hook for $1 - a beautiful piece of tropical floral barkcloth for $35 - and a cast iron door stop for $24. These are all items that I collect. We also ate in the big tent but we ate at 9:45 am (we were hungry and wanted to avoid the lines to buy food). I so much wish I could have met you and your parents! Maybe next time!

It definitely is a different way of looking. Hard to go 'antiquing' with friends when you scan booths like this though! LOL!!

I know you said it’s pretty warm there but I wish you could send or share some of that warmth with Maryland. This is the weirdest weather very cool spring. It’s almost June and it has not gotten hot yet.

It's definitely a good show to spend the night before and the first night too. You can't possibly see it all in one day. Impossible!
Really appreciate your scanning... That it included furniture! I've watched other videos where only smalls are the focus and to me that's very boring... ALSO, I saw human hair in a mid-west museum used as thread in small tapestries....
I'm located in Ohio, too. I was at Springfield. It is so much fun. I could barely walk at the end of the day Friday.

I wondered what u we’re looking for I’m new to your site. You recharged my love of primatives!
I love all so many different things. A piece really has to speak to me now. I collect mercantile boxes with the advertising of baking supplies. Such as vanilla, baking soda, chocolate, etc. But they are the crates that the smaller pieces would have been shipped in to the community mercantile. Among other things!

Looks like a beautiful piece you have your treasures displayed on !! Shows like that are overwelming for me, I see a lot of the eastern European pieces at Scott"s in Atlanta !! Lots of the huge bread troughs people love them !!

Last time we flew home from CA it took us three hours to find the car. My husband & I flew there separately and he was running late for flight……so neither of us could find the car in the airport lot. 🤦🏻♀️
Ugh, my worst nightmare!! My parents and I were in Berlin. Germany visiting the antique district of all things. Forgot to remind ourselves of landmarks when we parked. Thank goodness for the keyfob beep. We might still be there looking for the rental car!!

Between 7am and 12 on Friday it's earlybird shopping. 20.00 per person and the crowds are a bit smaller. At noon the doors open for people paying 10.00. So I tried to get to as much as I could before it got super crowded. I know I didn't see half of it.
Too much walking for this old lady but how Fun!
The human hair is used a lot of times around gardens or plants or flowers so that deer won't be attracted to them and try and eat them. The hair keeps them away, at least that's what I've been told. I've never tried it. Maybe it's just an old wives tail!!

@@Thecapeonthecorner the hat boxes are new to me. I have been seeing one, a green box with a red felted fedora in it for awhile at a store I frequent but didn't understand what it was. At first I thought it was just a box because it was so light. I was there a couple of different times before I opened it, lol. I was surprised to see the hat. I thought it might be a salesman sample and really that is kind of what it is only standing in for a full sized gift! Although I think the one I am seeing at the store is a reproduction compared to the look and the size of the ones in your parents more vintage collection. And I loved the shoes! I am really enjoying your videos, they are very nice. Take care!

I hate to go to a show and there are no prices, to me it's like they are too lazy to price and then they size you up to charge more. I won't keep also asking prices, they can take it back home with them.
I hear you. But sometimes as the show goes on and the piece remains, the price goes down, so it never hurts to ask!
