The idiots saying that Charla should shut up cos a professional is speaking do not understand how vile some of these people are. See the difference between that crap this Doctor is selling and the stuff that the doctors from Team Detox are saying. While he is here trying to be smart, the Team Detox guys give you real solutions and advice and call a spade a spade. Stop consuming BS all the time. Professionals lie.

      @wunamon 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      small boy talk. I made a comparison. One of a doctor peddling medication and surgery and another group peddling prevention. If you have sense, which one works for you? And while your ignorance has overcome you, know that you live in a capitalist society. Between that doctor and the Detox people, Envy is a living testament of their efforts. How has talking nicely to people on the path poor diet helped? He wants you to eat and then you come to him. The other guys are helping you prevent it. You do not need to take their kits they do not force you to take it but they do tell you that your eating habits have to change. You can be a sponge and just consume nonsense that is peddled to you under the guise of professionalism or use your sense to ascertain whether prevention is better than the cure. At no point does Charlemagne speak against treating the morbidly obese but he is against telling them that they do not have the power to control their diet.

      Furthermore, Dr. Charlamagne is correct with his challenge to Dr. Hunt notion around "Will Power". It' takes "Self Shame" to admit you must make a change and the "Will Power" to seek help. Dr. Charlamagne seeing a therapist doesn't take away his "Will Power" but seeing a doctor that will prescribe medication does.

    So you can let Kanye West finish his nonsensical statements that have very little to do with the "black privilege" lives you claim to care about. But when you have a doctor on the show with literal life saving information you won't let him talk? Life is all about convenience and effectiveness these days. If this man has a more convenient and effective way to help people, black people, lose weight just let him speak! Tekashi gets to talk. Cardi gets to talk. Lil Baby gets to talk. Etc. Nothing against them or Kanye West but, they are doing NOTHING substantive for the prospering of black lives. This man has a new idea that could possibly help people and barely can talk uninterrupted. They say they for the culture.......but sometimes I'm thinking which one?

    Ahhh, I really Love Charlemagne, so raw, so funny. But Damn man. Hear the Doc out. I agree with what you're saying, but from somebody who lost 130 pounds on my own, no medicine, no surgery, i STILL dont feel like he was selling me something. He's saying get to the nitty gritty of it... what is "Eating right?" is it reallyyyy eating right if i only eat "Lean Cuisines" breakfast lunch and dinner for 30 days? NO, its not because thats still packaged and full of salt, but before i did my own RESEARCH, i did not know that, shittttt, it says LEANN right on the box right???? Do i exercise 6x a week for 4 hours every day until i burn out and am not encouraged to do it again next week because i strained myself or hurt myself already. The point is without the RESEARCH, without really knowing whats right, not knowing which foods will keep you satiated all day, not knowing that bananas are one of the highest fruits in sugar so eat those sparingly, not knowing that i should take vitamins to keep my hormones nad shit in check, not knowing that i should know my own levels of B12 and D3 to see if i need to add supplements in my diet, not knowing how many ounces of water i need per day. I mean the list goes on. i think the Answer isss NOT to only say Eat Right and Exercise, but to say use all of our resources that we are blessed with TH-cam, Books, Google, Pinterest, Holistic Doctors, . Physicians, ALL OF THAT to EDUCATE YOURSELF, thenn APPLY YOURSELF, find Balance in your Life, find a Good Support System, practice Self LOVE and put in the WORK. Thank You!

  • @IakonaWayne
    @IakonaWayne 6 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    lol, at bringing a picture of ghrelin as if it's a biochemistry class.
    Charlamagne just doesn't get it, think he's dug a deep hole with his "fat shaming" and doesn't have the humility to admit he's wrong. Obesity is multi-factorial disease, insulin,ghrelin, social economic conditions, culture, ethnicity, microbiota, personal genetics, diet, etc all influence it. Charlamagne is being very simplistic about choices.
    Also, you can't trust the opinion of one doctor, like this doctor saying you shouldn't eat rice,potatoes,etc Or fasting other than intermittent fasting is bad, both are good...The Japanese eat a lot of rice and are the healthiest people on earth, but they don't eat a lot of wheat like we do. So, they don't have the problems of gluten and such. Japanese people walk a lot, eat smaller portions, eat a lot of fish, less meat, and fermented foods, and have easy access to healthy foods. Japans Obesity rates are 3.5% and the US 30%, and will be 50% as the guy said in the video.

    • @outcast566
      @outcast566 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The first two weeks of eating low carb can make some people feel lethargic. After that you will begin to use fat for energy instead of carbohydrates.
      A lot of people speak negatively about low carb but it's a great way to eat. I bet you will eat more veggies on low carb than on a regular low cal diet ( I know I do). This way of eating is also a natural diuretic. That bloat from consuming excess sodium will become a thing of the past (even if you eat excess sodium lol). Food shopping is also easier. Most of your foods will come from the produce and the meat and seafood departments.

Theres a difference between being willing and being able, which is the difference between "making a choice" ((willing) and the hormones in your body working against you (able). The doctor also should have emphasized the importance of science and the role it plays, hell its the star of the show. THANK YOU. I weigh over 350 lbs.and I don't know what to do....but more protein and more good fats are going into my diet now. Dr. Hunt was very helpful in breaking down why people have challenges in losing weight. CTG is no different than that Uncle who tells you "stop eating and you will lose weight" but gives no plans or next steps. Bootstraps-ers must stop sounding negative. Thumbs up to Angela and Dr. Hunt. Proteins plus Good Fats is key.
