I was addicted to Heroin, coke, crack, pills, molly for over 10 years. I lost so many friends and family due to my addiction. I’ve been sober now for 6yrs and life is so much better. I went from being a homeless jobless addict to now having a great job in the financial industry and a nice home. I have my family back and my dignity back. Things do get better if you want it and you stay away from the drugs. I’m living proof

That's so amazing to hear, and I'm so glad you were able to get out of that life. I was addicted to drugs myself for 18 years. I was homeless, in and out of treatment centers and prisons, etc. I just hit 10 years clean back in April, so I totally get where you're coming from. Life is so much better on this side of things.
Thanks so much for supporting the channel. It's truly appreciated. 🙏

It is indeed so how sick do you have to be to not get that taken care of even 2years ago?! I bet she wouldn’t need an amputation! I guarantee early on had she been seen as a human, not a # , a junky, nor a paltry sum of $ as these antibiotics are generic+can be, could+should have taken care of it for like $20 im generic antibiotics, oral+IV, drainage, etc. whole situation is one of the saddest things I have ever seen. I genuinely will pray for her+Im not as religious as I wish I were.)and I went to the movies w/my Grammy to see “The Evening Star”-that’s the “sequel” to easily - 1 of the most iconic tearjerkers ever “Tearms of Endearment”that will make a stone, or a soul bleed. Universally! It could almost bring “Peace to the Middle East!”(but 1 side is completely unmoved-physically, mentally, checked out, soulless almost. Broken. “May G-d have mercy on your soul”-providing, you still have one that is of course!)

It's become crazy how they just don't put people in the hospital anymore and do the coordinating themselves. They do all the work on the insurance side, but not much help for the patient otherwise.

@@sinjin8576 They wouldn't need to 'force her to detox' pre-surgery. She could be maintained on a clean supply while in hospital. You could use her post-surgery recovery period to offer outpatient methadone/suboxone, get her hooked up with services, etc. That window of time in which she's not on the streets and no longer dependent on whatever mixture of shit passes for dope these days, could be put to good use. None of these options would require her to become abstinent before receiving care.

Sit down and break bread with her and talk to her and let her know that there IS another way. She does not have to live this way any longer. That she does not EVER, ever, ever, EVER, EVER have to use again!! She has lost all hope and all faith and I would love to be able to sit down and possibly give her just a glimmer of hope. Never listen to anyone telling you that methadone is just “another addiction”. No, this is what could SAVE YOUR LIFE. Yes your body will still be dependent, but your mind will no longer be affected, and it will keep your body stable enough so you’re never in withdrawal and instead of worrying about finding the next high, or delaying the withdrawal once again, you can work on yourself, your psychological issues, find a job, a place to live, figure things out, and then, when you’re stable enough, you can be weaned off of it slowly, and clean up your body, if applicable, as some people may never be able to stop it. Anyone telling you BS like it’s another addiction waiting to happen, is not trained properly in addiction medicine. There are also alternatives to methadone if applicable, like buprenorphine or suboxone for example.

    • @SewFloSewing
      @SewFloSewing 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

This, 100! It’s really sad that people have addicts self conscious about starting things like suboxone and methodone. I personally think suboxone is the better choice but either is better than these street drugs. Also, yes they are strong medication and some may feel a “high” at first, it is not the type of high people think it is and it goes away fast once your body adjusts.
Those meds have changed and saved countless lives and people still choose to be ignorant about them and it’s just the saddest thing! If someone needs to get a legitimate prescription for them in order to stay clean then what is it anyone else’s business!
Also I worry that some addicts make statements like that as an excuse, they can’t quit until they do it right and all that. No they can’t quit until they are ready and once they are then they deserve every tool in the toolbox to help get them there.

  • @NikkieKnows

She looks like she has been abused and had her nose broken at least once. She has a lot of shame-based behavior and lack of self-worth. Very sad.

Wow she's only 30yrs old & she looks like she's 60, this is so sad can't believe it's only been 5yrs of using drugs & she's literally slowly dying 😢 💔 😔. I hope someone sees this & helps this woman.

I was thinking that too but she also said she was 21 when she started using and is now 30. So, I'm confused. I quit using because of that exact reason, so many people around me dying buying from the same dealers I was, and the sores the poison was leaving, I would have died too.

She's been on the streets for 5 years but said she started using heroin when she was 21...... 5 years on the streets is an ETERNITY let me tell you, as a recovering addict who's struggled with homelessness I can promise you first hand you'd be amazed at how quickly your mental and physical health deteriorate when you're constantly exposed to the elements, have no shelter, and then add using chemicals and poison on top of that 😞

My heart aches for her and her loved ones. I'm 56 and started smoking cigarettes at age 12 then weed at 14 and alcohol by 16... by about 24 i was addicted to cocaine and had 3 small children. I nearly lost everything including my life. Thank the good Lord that one day i woke up and said "I'm done" and i never looked back. I stopped going to bars, i stopped seeing "friends", i got involved in my kid's schools and it's the BEST thing ever. I've never relapsed. I have a wonderful life, 3 beautiful children and 3 gorgeous granddaughters. I am so blessed. I pray that this young lady gets help and can break free of the cycle.

This is one of the saddest things I've ever seen. I have a brother that is an addict. My father and my other brother drove 3 days straight for over 2000 miles to rescue him from a ditch where he was laying nearly dead and then drove the days back with him home. He slept the entire way. He stayed for 3 months and then went right back to where they picked him up from. It has nearly tore our family apart. Unfortunately it's a story all too many know the reality of. I hope all who have these problems get help and find their way out of this living hell. Sadly death is the eventual outcome for most of them.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother. I know it's so tough when someone you love is struggling like that. It's a helpless feeling, but don't ever give up hope. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

I know people feel “ they’ve done this to themselves” but when someone is this far down the rabbit hole they help, compassion, love and most of all hope for a new and better future. Sweetheart, I wish all that for you. It can be turned around, plenty of people live wonderful lives with only one arm. If you’ve made it through everything I imagine you have, you’re strong… just try and convert that strength into determination to beat this. Don’t give up

It is, but I think I disagree that she lost her way - I think without having parents to give her love, and therefore having to give it to herself, is simply too hard for many people. I think that's why she's so worried about her children - is the cycle repeating, or are the foster parents good enough?

She may have rec'd it ( just a guess ) but then leaves facilities to do what she wants to do -- I am presuming -- I wonder if they've had that surgery scheduled plenty of times --- we can't hold adults in hospitals. My friend did same thing .. Scope to ck internal bleeding ? well they took too long so she walked out of the hospital after all that prep etc -- then she tells people we don't know what's causing the bleeding -- Yes we do --- it's called late stage alcoholism

This is one of the most heartbreaking stories I've seen. I can't imagine dealing with even one of her struggles. She is dealing with so much. How can she be helped? Bringing these stories to light is great. But what is the next step for her? Are there programs to help this poor woman? She definitely needs help.

You know it’s bad when you knowingly poison your own self, to escape the hell of withdrawal from the drug wd at this point, they are not partying and getting “high” they only have moments of less “sick” by way of “poison”.
She seems to understand and accept the root of the problem, yet she admitted rehab wasn’t enough- as is the reality- many times it’s a good start, or may save a life, but it’s only entry level, it doesn’t on its face solve addiction .
