IMPORTANT: If you have an auxiliary ESS "auto start/stop" battery, you need to buy the H6/Group 48 size, not H7 (larger) size as he did. H6 battery is 10.9" W x 6.9" D x 7.5" H.

This should be a top comment. Its very surprising to see how little information on what size battery you need.

@@5150GringoGarage Also found out the battery Chrysler installed was "Not The Recommended" battery!
For this vehicle, a 760 AGM CCA is what's recommended. These mutherF..... put in a 650 CCA battery. Yes, it will work but it'll also tax the hell out it!
The battery was swelling on both sides, wouldn't hold a charge and was less than 3 years old. Surprised it lasted that long.

In case disconnecting the battery would cause some memory loss in a system, or cause some system to reboot, or fail or whatever might happen, I connected a 12V battery to the cigarette lighter socket. In my van there is a cigarette lighter socket at the right rear of the car. I took a small 12 volt SLA, like you might find in a deer feeder or an uninterruptible power supply and plugged it in to the socket. I took a cigarette lighter plug, and attached 4 feet of speaker wire to it. To determine which wire would be positive and negative, I plugged the jumper in to the cigarette lighter and checked the bare ends of the wire with a voltmeter. After finding the positive I connected a red battery clip to that one and a black battery clip to the other. Now before disconnecting my vehicle battery and changing it out, I plugged the jumper in to the cigarette lighter and attached the battery clips to the small 12 volt SLA jumper battery. This kept vehicle power hot while disconnecting and changing the battery up front. After installing the new battery, I disconnected the jumper battery from the cigarette plug. I have no idea if this is necessary. There may be some little hidden battery, or other device Chrysler has on board for just this purpose, but it was easy to do just to be sure nothing went dark, reset, or totally crapped out.

Great video. I'm thinking of purchasing a Pacifica soon. On the EverStart batteries, Walmart will stick to their word on the warranty. I've had two batteries die out before the 5-year period and I was able to exchange them both for free. Not sure if that says anything about the batteries themselves, but at least know the return process has been fairly simple.

My battery is not out yet but I am getting an indication that my start/stop is not functioning as the battery is charging and in safety mode. I had the auto start battery changed about a year ago. You need to be careful with vehicles that require AGM batteries some vehicles are very picky about the CCA rating and if you don't match the CCA to the OEM then you could have issues

The H6 CCA is like 650. Anything less than that is bad for this car. Fortunately, AGM batteries have a greater CCA than this.

I was able to buy an AGM battery for 138 at Advance auto parts, I went online and used there insanely cheap coupon code then went in store to pick it up. They in stalled it for me. So that would be a second option. Then I come home and see this video and realize I could of installed it myself.

Gringo, how is your battery holding up? Was that the only problem? Has it give you any other issues? Ours just died today and I'm going to get it checked tomorrow to see what else it could be.
