In 2010 if I wanted to find an Instagram post I saw yesterday, I opened Instagram and scrolled for about 10 seconds max (depending on if I was on WiFi). Too many companies are saying "how you organize the data your users see is less important than keeping them in the app long enough to make it to the next ad." And this mentality has INFECTED everything these days. MS Office is garbage and redesigns it's UI every 18 months for no reason. Look up a tutorial of how to turn off a Cyber truck, it's 3+ menus deep. This isn't a problem in search of a solution Nothing is so close to hitting the nail. I'm not the biggest fan of AI being run on servers and all of our data being used and uploaded elsewhere, does your mockup/mvp run on device?

very nice concept! it feels , i dont know, i would use the word "cozy" :D. Keep in mind tho that a lot of people (including myself) from time to time we enjoy using our phones offline (or just isnt enough signal to use the internet smoothly) , in this case it would be good to be able to use the assistant (or some AI features) locally on the phone. From my perspective theres a very thin line between "being more connected" and "getting sucked in by some new tech trend which results in addictive behaviour" (like youtube short, tiktok, and instagram reels cause "doom scrolling" which result in people wasting a lot of time, we dont want this)
The only problem with smartphones and AI overall is that it will listen to all your conversations without you knowing. I hope Nothing can create a kill switch or snooze feature to turn this off in their future smartphones 🤔📱💤
That's prolly the reason why they made the prototype "touch to respond" 3:12 you can see how he needs to press the screen to talk with the AI. It's like a push button. I like it and... Doesn't at the same time. A word recognition feature would have been better. Just like Alexa, you can just say "Hey Oliver" and it would be easier. Considering the thing that they wanted glyph lights to act as an indicator, like time, stopwatch, notification, rings and other stuffs for a more "handsfree" experience. There are chances of them bringing it.
all companies are trying to feed you anything by calling them "AI" but nothing is trying to stick to their promises as a company and keep us STILL human , love you carl and all members of nothing company
Hi Carl sir😊. I'm 16 now, from india, and I'm interested in the mobile technology, the manufacturing, designing, etc. I'm not good in coding, but I'm really interested in designing and manufacturing. So what should I do in my upcoming years to pursue this as my career.
"Great video! I'm excited about the future technology of Nothing Phone. One suggestion: please improve service centers across India to enhance customer experience and support. I couldn't buy Nothing phone 2 screen protector easily in Tamil nadu, India. Thanks!"
I love where this may go, however i think that it is important to not overcomplicate things, some people will air a product if they feel its too different from what they are used to. When it comes to this potential New AI integrations as well i think the user needs to be free to pick and choose over different AI asssistants, for example currently when you want to send a screenshot you have taken to an ai module, you can only default to chatgpt who make you charge for this feature, building in a pay wall into an OS is only worth doing if you give the user options to switch and to move. The idea that we will be able to merge stuff together or have a smart assistant that can do all these things, is super exciting and i cant wait to see what Nothing does next!
I wanted to wait for Phone 3 but it trying to capitalise on AI fad is a big no for me. Don't want to pay extra for useless feature which I will never use. The only practical use of AI I can see is photo processing for enhancing image quality. You could have spent that development time on something actually useful...

yeah good luck to them with that, idc how personalized or slick this thing is, if the prompts aren't processed locally on the machine and send no analytics data, I'm switching it all off.
i really don't see a "Post-app world". wouldn't that just mean that all the software on your device would have to be first party software? that would either mean the device lacks a lot of niche functionality some people might want, or its bloated to a degree where it becomes unusable.

And I thought we were leaning more and more towards app based services. It clearly has increased a lot these days, even my local grocery store has an app for payments.
While AI can provide cool opportunities, it would still be great if we can just opt out of such things. There's just a lot of kinks that AI has to fix before it goes mainstream. Also, the future will still have apps, personally speaking. It's just that AI will make apps personalized and often be used to plagiarize content (like in art generation where they're trained using copyrighted material)
It found content that you might be interested in looking at??? So you're saying it will show ads constantly! No thanks, I'll handle my phone on my own, I dont need it to tell me what tf I have to look at

We don't want a dashboard of gibberish to scroll through to replace scrolling through 10 apps. It's like someone watching Minority Report and instead of inventing Microsoft Kinect and new gesture/touch based OSes they invent gloves to control Windows XP.
I really like the widgets they've been building. The weather and step track are great. Hopefully a new home would be just as configurable and well made.
It’s a prototype
@@ananthkr18 we're aware
AI is putting the "smart" in smartphone.
This is the way to go.
wait phone 3 NEXT year?
they are giving cmf phone 1 this year
Why next year?
@@alvin7184It's for good
And it's their company their choice when to release
@@selvinminjBut is budget phone.
phone 3 will get the AI thing next year
User of nothing phone 2a some feedback
1. Add support for font
2. Add gallery and music player app
3. Music player again because TH-cam music is shit
4 please add glyph light support for external camera apps like Snapchat
5 waiting on this ai stuff
Phone 3 definitely needs a telephoto lens. Kindly make it happen!! 🤞🏽
Telephoto over macro any day
@@BigBenlolz Telephoto over wide for me! But I know most consumers prefer wide.
I'd also love to see a bigger sensor, but no high hopes for this, barely any smartphone does it.
Agree. Plus a 1440p screen too and it'll be a true flagship
Hey Carl, I bought the phone 2a one month ago... Will the AI Experiences be coming to the phone 2a as well? As a part of the Nothing Community, I think I speak on behalf of everyone that we would really, really love the AI Experiences to be available in phone 2a as well. All the best for the company's venture into AI experiences! :)
He mentioned Phone(3)!!
also the eyes looks different from what they use for the "fresh eyes".
I've recently bought a nothing phone and after this video had thoughts about selling it... Hopefully that ai integration will be optional so people can have normal android experience if they want
I'm actually excited to see where they go with this next year and beyond with the Nothing phone 3.
Nothing needs to officially clarify to the public in clear, direct messaging if Phone 3 is releasing next year. I am looking to buy a phone in the next few months and i am not currently considering the 2 or 2a because of the possibilty of 3 around the corner. If Nothing came out and said 3 next year i could properly consider the 2 or 2a, if they never do the window will close before i choose a phone. This is a case were lack of transparency will lose you sales.
Np2a ultimate is coming...they delayed coz 2a ultimate is coming...
Me too! I need to know as well
I like AI in general but I'm a bit sick of it being shoved down our throats (biggest and most dangerous and vulnerable example right now being Microsoft Recall) I'm not so much interested in talking to a companion, but if I do, it should understand me at least as well as chatgpt does
the eyes are kinda cute, I like it!
I'm not the biggest fan of AI being run on servers and all of our data being used and uploaded elsewhere, does your mockup/mvp run on device?
Please focus on signal reception & antenna efficiency , We are facing network issues even in the city like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai...boost the network quality
Hey nothing people
Please do fix the battery drain and slow charging issue with nothing 2a(using nothing GaN charger).rather than improving things first fix the current issues which are more important in day to day life
As a new brand company such issues might not be a good sign for the future
Regards a nothing user
"I think they would be fun, thoughtful, and have a good sense of humor" - Todo, with a disappointed crying face. "I never imagined Nothing team would be so boring,"
Finally, a tech ceo that isn't obsessed with Ai. He only said "ai" 6 times.
Carl is the best tech ceo ever he is very open and honest than any tech ceo's i mean imagine tim cook being so open and honest like him
my view on nothing is ,there are severe price cuts on the prices before getting their new model. otherwise it is very value for money
Things to work
1. Security (hardware and software level)
2. Better build quality (from scratches and drops)
3. Camera optimization
4. Software optimisation
5. Dust and water protection
very nice concept! it feels , i dont know, i would use the word "cozy" :D.
What if Nothing hired Paul Bettany for AI voice so we all have our personal Jarvis.
Thanks!"
Dear Carl
Plz Don't Change Doted Font ,doted clock in upcoming software update. People love this font
Don't be like nokia like how they thought iphone will never work
1:24 "So, how can we be more like Nintendo?"
Abuse copyright systems to take down fan-made works and demolish orphanages because there was a kid named "Carl" living there.
I guess when ai is everywhere, current phones will skyrocket in value... NICE!!
the nothing macbook killer is the only thing that is going to take me away from
the apple ecosystem, is the core
a phone is just a magic rock
I really wish AI is just gonna be an optional feature and not something that gets forced on users like so many companies are doing.
Wow Carl n team thank you. Trusted u guys n bought phone 1 on first sale it's still rocking. Thank you.
Looking forward for more new features from NOTHING which other phones doesn't have in future
With all due respect, don't let a large focus on AI take away the core essentials/other wanted upgrades for the phone 3.
That made the nothing phone series a great flagship phone series in the first place.
The community is confused if you really meant the Nothing Phone 3 will come out next year. Why not clarify this up for us??
Hi Carl sir I am a proud nothing user from northeast India since last three years I am using nothing phone 1 and nothing ear stick and I am having one of the best experience using nothing products and I am nothing to upgrade my nothing phone 1 to phone 3 so I hope the price of phone 3 will be under 30k❤
Love you product and satisfy and I hope nothing grow more and more 🎉
It will never be under 30k
Brother.... Price won't be under 30k as they are launching a high-end phone.
Please focus on building a ecosystem. I love the nothing experience but lack of ecosystem might force me to switch to Samsung
As long as nothing doesn't stealing our personal data (photos, videos, audio...) this sounds really good
yeah good luck to them with that, idc how personalized or slick this thing is, if the prompts aren't processed locally on the machine and send no analytics data, I'm switching it all off.
I am more afraid of somehow getting access to the AI and basically instantly having all your info.. would be a dream for a hacker
I don't, I have doubts... But I'll wait!
You guys can also bring that A.I in software update
It will not stop like the previous application you released right
The partner company fumbled, it's not completely their fault
that was sunbird's fault
i really don't see a "Post-app world". wouldn't that just mean that all the software on your device would have to be first party software? that would either mean the device lacks a lot of niche functionality some people might want, or its bloated to a degree where it becomes unusable.
I don't know how will it go but we will see
I think It means one day ai tech will become so advanced that it will do the work of apps for you and you don't have to use apps anymore
I've seen good things about nothing OS
But i won't switch to nothing until i see a telephoto camera
Cringe.
Quad Mic on Nothing Phone 2 is excellent for call quality and video recording. Please Nothing stick to this quad mic hardware in your future upcoming phones. Attention to Detail like this is good for the Brand.
Please give some glimpse about the AI features going to be used in Nothing Phone 3!
Hey just a general suggest please add a customization app like goodlock(Samsung) or an app like shortcut (apple) these attract a number of people
Really with these ai get into every nothing models rather than it upcoming flagship ones only
It found content that you might be interested in looking at??? So you're saying it will show ads constantly!
No thanks, I'll handle my phone on my own, I dont need it to tell me what tf I have to look at
I would love to buy one of your phone (maybe the phone 3) but please, make so the update can be for more long (not just 2 or 3 years, like 5 or even 6 years would be really great). If you do that, I can promise you that i will buy your phone, because i think you guys are doing such a nice jobs, your phone are not like other, they are cool, with functionnality that is usefull (and sometimes not but cool)...
I'm guessing there'll be no Nothing Phone 4 because there was no One Plus 4
DANG that AI-generated homescreen would be AMAZING...
The only phone that would migrate me away from my iPhone will be a Nothing phone.
It is prototype now but yeah we will see
Just got a nothing phone 2 and im rlly liking it so far. I think if you move these updates to phone 2 and 2a it would be a good place to start
True Bro. Even I have the Nothing phone 2 and I fell the same way
2a can't handle those ai features because of poor processor...
when is NOTHING PHONE 3 coming we are waiting ! 😘😘
FINALLY... as an AI enthusiast, I would be that crazy customer when this comes out... Keep your goals to make it better than the upcoming AI Siri.
Nice that they ask they community, before bringing suge a big feature.
The AI eyeballs are a nice touch. If they can move in conjunction woth the context, even by 30%, that would be lit 🔥
I'm Waiting Nothing Phone 3
Shit, I was excited, I was waiting for phone 3. I can't wait until next year. I will continue with OnePlus
Wow, based on the questions and his thoughtful answers, his special and unique AI assistant would be the same as about 4 billion other people.
Waiting for nothing phone 3 with snapdragon 8 gen 3 processor
it will release in summer 2025

I was hoping for the Phone (3) next month and I couldn't wait to finally purchase one... alright, I guess I have to practise patience then ;)
I'm really curious about how Nothing will develop :)
Love this vision!
Give chargers in the box! Bought OnePlus instead of Nothing 2a just due to the lack of a charging adapter
Buy anything you want na he don't force you to buy only nothing, just buy the phone according to your preference 😮💨
Dude just buy a charger lol, youve bought a garbage phone just so it comes bundled with a charger?
I see you have plans to integrate this AI companion into the whole system, that's quite a thrilling idea, ngl. But what about the model itself, will it be running locally on the device, or it'll be using your servers, or any kind of external processing??? From the security and reliability perspective, it would be insanely good if it was running locally on the phone.
It is still an exploration it will release with phone 3 next year at that time we can actually see what this can do what can't
