    Dear Carl,
I'm writing to share my experience with the CMF 1, which I recently purchased. I’m from India and thought I'd offer some feedback to help make this impressive product even better.
Display: The display quality is great; however, I noticed that quick scrolling sometimes causes the touch to glitch or select something unintentionally. It would be great if this could be refined.
Speakers & Camera: The speakers sound good, and the camera does the job well for my needs.
Dimensions: The phone feels a bit large for one-handed use, which can be challenging.
UI & Software: The interface and software are outstanding. I appreciate that you’ve included the same software experience as your flagship models, and the monochrome look with interactive widgets is refreshing. It feels calm and intentional, not overly stimulating with bright colors. I love the clean control panel and the live speech caption feature-please maintain these aesthetics, as they’re truly distinctive.
Accessories: Including a basic charger would make a positive difference, as competitors often include both a charger and a TPU case. This addition could sway buyers who consider the extra costs of separate accessories.
Overall, I'm delighted with CMF 1. After a long time, I feel excited about using a smartphone that isn’t just another copy or overloaded with bloatware. Thank you for a unique experience!
    Warm regards,
    Snehil

A few things I think are meh about the phone:
    - The speaker (mono, really?
    - Having removable back panels without having a removable battery is a missed opportunity.
    - No ultrawide camera.
    - Charging speed isn't great (33W).
Very happy with the value though. I don't have the phone but just looking at some reviews.

At that price point an Ultrawide would be as usefull as a 2 Mpx macro lens... The removable battery is something we wont see again... At least you can remove the back if for any reason you broke it or you get bored of your color choice... The charging speed is exaclty what you would expect at the price point... The Nothing CMF Phone 1 is indeed an amazing phone for its price. The high refresh rate, strong battery, and AMOLED screen (which I honestly wasn't expecting - I thought they'd just settle for an LCD screen) are impressive. The fact that it comes with a watch, buds, and a case is unexpected, but super cool 👌🏽😙. I also love the sleek design of the watch. The memory is just okay - nothing spectacular - and the camera is so-so. As someone who prefers dark mode, I appreciate that it's the default mode, earning it a thumbs up from me. The mostly monochromatic UI is excellent. However, the lack of NFC enablement is a big turn-off for me (not enough to be a deal-breaker, but... ughh).
If there'll ever be a version 'a' or an update, please consider including NFC capabilities, even if it means sacrificing the removable case feature. At this point, NFC enablement matters a lot, especially for those like me who use only one device. Though I love the phone, I don't think I'll buy it with my money; however, if it's a gift, I'll be over the moon.

Not very nice to blueball people like this. Especially when you still haven't made a repo for Nothing OS on the Phone 2 open source yet. Missed opportunity to create something truly innovative (beyond the mere aesthetics) like a hot-swappable battery, modular internals, maybe even open-hardware, to create something like the Framework Laptop, really community driven which would have lasted for decades. Instead you built a phone with no NFC, removable backplate just as a design gimmick, not making the product more repairable and eco-friendly. Missed opportunity, to create a revolution, a nice piece of design though

Only 2 years of android updates and 3 years of security updates is not something I was expecting from Nothing/CMF in 2024. Even though, the phone 1 is targeted as more budget oriented smartphone, device's longevity is in question as if the device is not meant to last more than 3 years. Or if the users are compelled to make the switch and upgrade after 3 years? For me personally, I like the company's vision and their products very much. But the shortness in their software support is making me look for alternatives in market as I want to be a long-term customer who values security in software and don't have enough money (yeah, I'm broke /s) to make the switch every 3 years.
