Firsr many thanks to Agadmator for this quick coverage of the games! I have to admit that I am surprised by Carlsen's stunning superiority in thos rapid games, Caruana seemingly didn't have a chance against him! So the old and new World Champion is Magnus Carlsen, congratulations!
Ever is a long time, Kasparov is still ahead of him I think. Kasparov had at least 5 impressive World Championships, 85, 86, 90, 93, 95. Where Carlsen has had to win on tie breaks twice. Kasparov was No.1 for 20 years, Carlsen has a way to go yet. Chessmetrics gave Kasparov 17 2820+ tournament performances almost 3 times as the next on the list Lasker. I'd like to know how many Carlsen has achieved, probably 5 or 6. Kasparov had staggering personal scores, beating.. Morozevich, Gelfand, Shirov, Adams and Bareev by 50-0! in decisive games. Kasparov beat 4 2600 GMs 7-1! in a simul!
There's no one yet capable of toppling this beast called Carlsen... Yet another victory! Superb World Championship Series... Thanks Agadmator for covering these matches.
I hope they leave this time format. With players learning games by heart from studying engine moves, we need to see human talent come out somewhere. Lower time periods seem to show of the human part and mistakes that we should expect from playing 12 chess games in a row.
I wish people would stop spouting this idiocy. Longer games show off the human part, because they actually HAVE TIME TO THINK. Carlsen plays better intuitive chess than Fabi (or anyone), but he is not better when Fabi has time to calculate.
@ricobarth It goes both ways. Shorter time means you have to really understand the game and have the experience to calculate/make moves faster. Having multi-hour games gives players time to try to remember what they saw from supercomputers and that's honestly just memorization. You can also argue that people play well in blitz/rapid because they memorized a lot of lines.
@@ricobarth I don't think you understand how the rankings work in chess he is currently still ranked higher just defended his championship and has been better than fabi for a considerable part of their history in classical games, therefore i would say he is better, not by much but better,
@@colemanliam1 We're in agreement. They started and finished 4 pts apart in classical rating. Basically even. Magnus far better in rapid and blitz. I wish there was a better way to resolve this, because we already have a rapid and blitz championship. All that was proven was that Magnus is a better rapid player, but we already knew that he was the best in the world in that format.
Why? I found the reliance on prepared engine lines in only a few repetitive opening variations to be uninteresting, and worse, severely highlighted the short comings of both -(perhaps all)- players when out of that preparation and trying to analyze and advance the complex positions on the board. Everything just fizzled out as they both simply tried not to make a mistake when they could no longer remember the engine moves.
Even though i don't like to assign a world title with a blitz round, rules are rules. We have to admit that Magnus was great in this final rush. Sincere congratulations to Carlsen... and thanks to Agadmator for your nice analysis
By the way. In FIDE, rapid means more than 10 minute but less than 60 mins. While Classical is 60 minutes or more. Classic tournament is usually a 90 minute game for the first 40 moves

Just a big thank you for all this rapid coverage of the event
That was fast!!!!
Crushing Carlsen... Two queens on the board.... Crushing...
Such wonderful reportage and analysis. Thanks for uploading all three rapid games on the same day. Outstanding job!
Convincing enough in Rapid...congrats to both!
I avoided news all day till I could watch here. Seems Carlson knew what he was doing when he drew game 12. Thanks for the brilliant coverage!
Look for someone that likes you as much as Caruana likes his bishop
Thank you so much Agadmator for uploading all the games. I was fully following the 2018 WCC through your TH-cam videos and I must say I've thoroughly enjoyed myself. Bless up greetings from Zambia
Dr drunkenstein the world champion
I thought ManWithAVan won it.
thanks so much for covering this whole match, watching every game through your eyes really made the whole thing enjoyable and interesting even if it was draw after draw until today!
I will never get tired of the way antonio says castles
I'm a big fan of captures captures.
I'm a fan of 'Morphy's defense' . Don't ask why because even I dont know
Great coverage @agadmator. Absolute champ in uploading the videos as soon as the matches complete
The Problem with the longer time Format is you Can prepare better and memorize computerlines if you really want to Know who is better let Them Play 20-30rapid games Then you Know who is the "natural" better chess player
Thank you agadmator for uploading in this fashion, as u were my way of keeping updated & watching while at work, well done!
So basically Carlsen aim to not losing in classical while secretly plotting his opponent demise in rapid. Such is the cunning Magnus Carlsen....
First off, Agadmator rules!! Great work as always Antonio! I just wanted to point out something "funny": as an Italian I read one of the names of the people who donated and laughed.. "Lavorare Meglio" means "Work Better"!
It would have been awesome to use Carlsen's "Quiet the Haters" image as a thumbnail for this game!
😂😂😂😂
He didnt quiet anyone though. With game 12 he deepened the hatred and I lost respect for him there.
@@Dark_Voice cry more😂😂😂😂
Dark Voice Kasparov? Kramnik? Polgar? Watch the press conference, Carlsen pretty much told the haters to shut the hell up lol
@@eyto96 Telling it is even worse. Its like "If you need to say "Im the king" youre no true king". YOu need to shut them up with winning game 1 and 12. He didnt. Game 1 was at least he did mistake but game 12 is whole different problem. WHen I heard that even Grischuk felt like that I was relieved really.
i'm not usually one to write comments but i must say, You sir, are very much appreciated. It was a pleasant surprise the fact that You made the videos in a row, as they happened.
Thank You, please keep up the great work.
In the post match press conference, If anna ask me anything, I think I would just answer "yeah I love you too", but the world champion has obviously a stronger resolve than that.
Thanks agadmator. Was the first chess championship I have watched every single game of. You are an excellent chess presenter.
Thank you so much for your analyses! You have really brought the world championship alive for me. #suggestion -- I'd love to see some games by Judit Polgar.
He covered some in the past already
i grew an immense amount of respect for you Antnonio during this match....i will keep watching you and support you whatever way i can...i started playing chess again because of you...much love
Satisfied, yes I think the stronger player won.
I think it should be 20 games and if tied 10-10 then the title is retained. So the Challenger must get 10.5 to win title.
That's what they did before in the old days in chess ;)
Firsr many thanks to Agadmator for this quick coverage of the games! I have to admit that I am surprised by Carlsen's stunning superiority in thos rapid games, Caruana seemingly didn't have a chance against him! So the old and new World Champion is Magnus Carlsen, congratulations!
I mean there isnt anything to discuss, Magnus is the best chess player ever.
Congratulations GM Carlsen, you're an excellent world chess champion!
Thank you for doing these rapids so quickly... your commentary is SOOOO much better than the live stream commentary was.
I hope they leave this time format. With players learning games by heart from studying engine moves, we need to see human talent come out somewhere. Lower time periods seem to show of the human part and mistakes that we should expect from playing 12 chess games in a row.
nah, you can't think fully in these time frames. It's bullshit.
Thanks very much Agadmator for posting videos of all three rapid games. You're the bes!!!.
I'm hopeful that a greater emphasis can be placed on classical games somehow
Thanks for the fast uploading. I'm very appreciated your devotion to the channel. Keep it up the good stuff. 👏
Even though i don't like to assign a world title with a blitz round, rules are rules. We have to admit that Magnus was great in this final rush. Sincere congratulations to Carlsen... and thanks to Agadmator for your nice analysis
Thank you for your great coverage today! I know it's a lot of work to do the videos, especially 3 in a day! We appreciate it!
Whoah! 25+10 is rapid? I use lichess every day and 15+15 is *classical.*
aint nobody got time for that online
Classical means both players should have at least 30 min.
its actually speedchess, not blitz.
Yeah I'm playing lichess every day and I thought I'm playing Classic but I'm actually playing 15+15 rapid all these days 😂
By the way. In FIDE, rapid means more than 10 minute but less than 60 mins. While Classical is 60 minutes or more. Classic tournament is usually a 90 minute game for the first 40 moves
Nikada ovako rano nisam došao na vide. Odličan kao I uvek.
try to listen to Agad with 2X speed, so funny hahaha.
x0.5 is quite funny too
Like he was drunk xD
0.5 is way funnier, the facial expressions like he drank a whole bottle of whiskey xD
Consistency is tough to achieve in any sport. Really is amazing to see him do it over and over again. There is always flash in the pan players. But the true greats accomplish nearly impossible tasks multiple times and prove luck has nothing to do with it. Love it
Magnus... you are an excellent World Chess Champion
Just wanted to say thank you to agadmator. This is a great channel and wonderful and timely analysis. I really enjoy your work.
All hail King Magnus!
Agadmator, your commentary and explanation are THE BEST on line. The others are garbage if you are trying to learn while you, you entertain and teach!!
Lets all hail for the defending champion MAGNUS CARLSEN!!!
I doubt that anyone is surprised by the outcome, but it was fun to watch! Thanks Antonio!
Caruana is good but Carlsen is just better.
Thanks so much for your fantastic coverage of the match. I don't understand anything about chess to be honest, but I've watched each episode every night after work, and have loved it. Thanks again.
The daughter of famous physicist Stephen Hawking, Lucy Hawking
really?
@@rotvonrat yeah she's Daughter of Stephen Hawking
You are the true champ, agadmator. Thanks for your excellent coverage!
you are faster than the "fast pass pawn"😎
Thanks for the excellent coverage of the rapid games yesterday as well as the rest of the match. A+ stuff, Mr. Agadmator!
Completely deserved it.
Spoiler:
Agadmator won the rapid uploading championship !
Thanks so much for covering the WCC! Much respect from NZ
