    • @GermanAssum
      @GermanAssum 6 ปีที่แล้ว +48

      @@melvynobrien6193 what are you talking about? Caruana's preparation for this game was insane and Magnus played perfectly cause the game was full of traps. Don't think that agadmator is showing all the lines. Magnus avoided losing with the white pieces playing the best moves and the engines didn't give advantage for either side in a very tricky position. Maybe u don't get how chess works, cause this draw was a good result for both of them.

      I started trying to learn ~ 4 weeks ago after finding this channel. I play on lichess, mostly v computer for the first two weeks, till I could beat level 1 fairly comfortably then so so level 2. Also the puzzles are really good on there. They have introductory lessons as well which are really nice. About two week ago I started with chessable, learning some openings, and endgame practice. Basically the free courses on there. Then ofc keeping up with this channel.

    • @pathutchison7688
      @pathutchison7688 6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      I’d recommend that you simply start a paying games. You’ll lose a lot at first But it doesn’t matter. Don’t study anything about openings at first. There are some good books for beginners but I’m not sure which to recommend. I’m sure some others on here can give you some advice on which books to read. I will say that learning to play chess will be an extremely rewarding experience. You will begin to see things differently. Not only across the chess board, but in life in general. I envy you and the great journey you are about to begin.

    Great recap! I love that you had some Leela insights and focused on many different lines than Grischuk did in his commentary. One interesting thing Sasha mentioned about the rook ending is that white actually prefers to have the pawn structure 'ruined' by being doubled on the f-file. It lets you trade the former g-pawn for a central pawn, making it impossible to create a passed pawn there. A much easier draw than if the pawns were left intact.

    "Human chess." I know this is not the first time that phrase has been used, but it's a nice back-formation that will likely be heard more frequently. Reminds me of "acoustic guitar," a phrase that didn't exist until the invention of electric guitars.

    The drink is called "Isklar" directly translated to "Iceclear" and is a Norwegian product. The reason you might get 'after effect' of it is because you can get it with different tastes like regular with lime or lemon or something else. You can also get just regular water and since it's Norwegian, it's one of, if not, the best water in the world. I'm Norwegian myself and doesn't usually buy it because we can drink tap water but sometimes I do.

    4x3 on the kingside is a theoretical draw in most cases and Nxf7 can be played instead of Bf3, which leads to some wild variations, worth analyzing. Loved the stare GIF :-)

    I'm going to game 3 on Monday so I cant share my experience yet, but I can tell you that The College (the venue) is usually very nice, and paying 45 pounds to see the world's two best chess players for a few hours is not bad :)

    Hi Agadmator thanks for the content again!! Question from a chess noob to anyone who is patient enough, at 22:10 what about f3 while e4 is pinned? Would that variation bring to anything useful? I guess no if Magnus didn't play it 😅 but I'm not a good player and I just can't see the following moves...

      Look in the general direction of London, the stare will be visible from your position, if you just played 10. Rd8

    Antonio, instead of Bf3, isnt Nc4 better attacking both the queen and the bishop? Around 15:37 mark. Or am i missing something here!?

    Antonio, please organize a meet-up for your fans in London, during or after the championship. Do it! I’ll be the first to attend. Many thanks, Dimitrios :)

    Would be nice if there was a way to flip the board on youtube, since I'm in the USA/Italy Camp, cheering on Fabiano. I think Magnus is an outstanding player & was cheering him on as he climbed up the ladder, however, I'm from the USA & was alive to see Fischer win & would like to see another American win in my lifetime! :)
