I really appreciate the effort y'all put into these videos. I know that it is a lot of work! Your channel and Outdoors with the Morgans are my two favorite channels. I check for new video's from you two every day. I am so anxious to see more videos on the cabin. Keep up the good work.
I am so anxious to see the cabin build too. LOL! The weather has been horrible, but we are going back out tomorrow,,,,, with our side by side. It will be nice not to have to walk in so much mud to the cabin. Tony
Sweet UTV. Was down in west TN about a month ago during the big chill and snow/ice storms. My wife and I just acquired property in rural Tennessee and are making a list of the "toys" we'll need to maintain and enjoy the property once the new house is built. Heard about you guys from Ethan at Country View Acres! Can't wait to leave communist MD! Great channel! Take care and god bless!
I am excited to have you in the neighborhood. Reach out and I will give you the scoop on West TN. It is a great place to live. I have not locked my garage door in 8 years. Evan at Country view acres is an awesome guy. I am proud to call him a friend.
You are correct, his name is Evan. Got him confused with my builder who is Ethan. I'd enjoy reaching out and gaining some new neighbors in the area. We are in the infancy of the process, getting the land, talking to the builder, designing plans etc. None the less, we are excited for the future. What is the best way to contact you directly? @@TonysTractorAdventure
If you've not seen our other video, please check it out. We took the bighorn side by side to land between the lakes riding area. We took it up. Some ridiculous steep hills.
If they made these road legal everywhere, id rather drive one than a car. 😅 Very cool machine, Tony! Thank you for sharing! And thank you to Tanja for her camera work and putting up with the freezing weather. She does a fantastic job! 😎
My TSC doesn't list the Bighorn 550 DXH but maybe they could order it. At $15K on the Bighorn site, it is a bargain for sure. I found 3 dealer/service centers within an hour of my location, so like you said, they seem very supportable.
That thing on the left side with the Heavy cables is the Winch contactor.. I've been Eyeballin the kioti. I can run Off-road Diesel in it. LOL.. But these things are ridiculously pricey. I have a Dealer near Me , I'll have to go look... Thanks Tony..
Diesel comes with its own set of challenges in cold weather. If I lived in a cold climate, the gas engine would be what I lean toward. We are blessed with a very mild climate in Tennessee.
When you put it in gear does the switch in the dash have some sort of indication button or sensor that tells you if it is in what gear in that it’s in on it?
Good looking rig. I wish they had it in a five seater version. I’ve got a can am defender max 700. It’s great machine very nice. It msrp for 15k. Bare bones. I’ve added the roof and windshield winch turn signals an horn and mirrors. Being a base model it doesn’t have power steering. And of coarse no doors. Time I add power steering at 800 dollars for the kit and doors if I bought them any where from 1000 dollars for soft doors all the way up to several grand for a hard door. I’m just not putting anymore into it at the point. I like it it really is a good machine. But it’s a joke what you get on the big name brands for the cost. Robbery really. Don’t get me wrong they’re good units. But I’d consider one of these if they had a five seater. Coarse our boys are getting their own atvs for Christmas so who know how I might change things up in the future once they learn to safely trail ride and operate a atv. Thanks for the video Tony and Tanya.
I don't talk about prices on my TH-cam channel. Our TH-cam channel reaches all across North America. Different locations have different pricing schedules. I did leave a link to the manufacturer's website. I think Tractor supply publicly posts their pricing as well.
@@Teddjenkinsfor a Chinese low quality mm 😮no gracias 6 months later plastics are fading electrical problems engine problems not really a smart choice. Is nice but low quality so resell would be almost impossible
@TonysTractorAdventure ......This is my first side by side, but all others that I've road in where incredibly loud. Some guys think these are quieter than most other brands. 😳
Ya know CVT drives are totally disengaged sr the drive clutch when you drop the rpm. No engine breaking. Hondas are shaft drive with transmissions and totally engine brake idling down hill. I'm an 80 year old back woods bush rat and have witnessed and had every trend of snow machines ATVs side by sides and track or wheel amphibs. All types 2 cycle and 4 cycle engines with trannies and CVTs which is the only perfect setup with 2 cycle CVT systems. But not always perfect for ATVs. Dandahermit running heavy snow and hilly land is vital for engine breaking downhill. Or you only have control half the time 😅
Years ago you would be correct. You would be totally wrong in this case. I use the engine as a brake all of the time. See this video going through steep trails.
At 25°. I found that the heater was just barely enough. Surprisingly, the engine did not provide very much heat at all. The way the big horn 550 is built the head and all of the exhaust is under the bed. This is a benefit in the summer
The exact same machine sold under brand SSR Bison 500 has heat, windsheild and power dump bed as standard. These "Bighorns" are less than 500cc, so they are lying there. The heater is self destructive and will not last, it is located in the front suspension for dirt rocks and debri to enter, the fan hardly blows at all. Ask me how I know??.....I just bought a SSR Bison a month ago. No "Park" either. The parking system is unreliable and dangerous.
I can't find the machine you are speaking of at any of the websites selling the SSR Bison. Is it a prototype? Why is BigHorn Lying? That is there model number. Every manufacturer out there makes their model number higher than the CC of the engine. Still, If BigHorn is lying, then so is SSR Bison. It is a 498 cc engine. It sounds like SSR's QC is not good. I am not having any of the problems you are. My parking brake locks the rear wheels up well. The heater doesn't blow my hair off, but it works as I would expect. I will look at the intake to see if dirt can get in.
@TonysTractorAdventure ......not knocking by any means. I have no idea why Bighorn is stretching the truth, I get the cc's and how they usually round off to the nearest higher number, but you have to admit, 498cc is no where near 550cc. Look at SSRmotorsports. My local sport cycle dealer carries them, that is where mine came from. Yes, the brake works, but is no way safe by any means, especially on a hill. I won't ever trust it, anyone or anything, like a dog/kid/etc., touches the brake pedal......and you know the rest. I wish that I could send pics to show you a few things. Not much out there on the inerwebs yet. But, they are the exact same machine. Would love to have the hard cab, it was not available when I bought mine, had to go with a soft cab at the time.
I do not know why they are lying about the cc's. Well, I do...😉 The "rounding up" is common, as everyone knows, but they went to the point of misleading/lying. I really like the hard cab, as I've mentioned before, I have the soft cab. I just wonder how hot they'll be when summer comes. I ordered 3 of the SSR Bison 500s. One for me (red), one for a freind, and one (green like yours) for his 74 year old father.
It's probably all made in China at that price point. The only info I could find said bighorn was made by linhai who had a joint venture with Yamaha at one point. If Yamaha used them then they prolly made pretty good products. It looks as if they went out on thier own after the Yamaha thing? Not a ton of info on these utvs.
@TonysTractorAdventure ....I weigh 210. It will hold you, but if you put your hand down on the seams of tailgate, you can feel it deforming as you sit. So, just saying, may want to keep an eye on it. It will hold, but longevity if repeatedly stressed.....????
I have nothing against this UTV, but in general I find the prices outrageous, $15,000 - $30,000 is no fun, and what do they give, a cheap frame, with a Chinese engine, without doors, without a windshield, without AC, in general the vehicle is very bad If you think about the fact that with this money you can get the best car with full extra, here in my country the UTV's have no opportunity because the price is plus 80% customs tax
I HATE these on public roads! So unsafe. So many nearly collide into me as the drivers don't give a crap and pay zero attention! No turn signals (used), no stops (full), no concern for speed limits. These are the bane of Wyoming towns. Granted this is because the drivers are horrible humans, but it's just as bad as BMW drivers not using turn signals! Keep these off the roads where they belong! I'd much prefer a mini truck made by Toyota, safer, literally a car, far more reliable. And in many cases, they are cheaper. Way better for the environment as well. Rant over. This one looks pretty nice, why no price? Was this sponsored?
I don't talk about pricing on my channel. We reach a very wide audience and pricing is significantly different from one area to the other. I appreciate your opinion on driving the on or off the road.
